9th Annual Kohr Quarter Horse
Futurity Rules
$7,500 added money Barrel Futurity, Jessie Jaymes Trophy Buckle to average winner;
fastest time on the two go-rounds. Must be present to receive awards. $2,500 added
Triple Crown 100 to eligible futurity colts.
1. The 9th Annual Kohr Quarter Horse Futurity will be governed by our committee and their decisions will
be FINAL. We reserve the right to refuse entry to any horse or individual.
2. The 9th Annual Kohr Quarter Horse Futurity will be held on May 27-29th, 2016, Cam-PLEX Arena 1635
Reata Drive, Gillette WY 82718.
3. The Futurity is open to horses foaled in 2011 or after. Horses must not have reached the age of six by
the time of the futurity. All Futurity entrants must be checked in prior to competing.
4. To be eligible for the futurity, the horse must never have competed in ANY barrel racing prior to
December 1, 2015. To do so means to forfeit any and all fees paid and elimination from the futurity.
Horses may have competed ANYWHERE after December 1, 2015. Horses may have been entered in
other events.

Owners may enter more than one horse. The owner does not have to ride his/her own horse. Either
male or female rider is allowed and no age limit to the rider. All riders must be designated by May 1,
2016. Should a nominated horse be sold during the course of the payment period, written authorization
from the original owner must be received by Kohr Quarter Horses, LLC before horse can continue to be

6. Substitutions for horses will be allowed due to death, injury or illness of the entered horse. Deadline for
substitutions is May 1, 2016. Substitution must be made in writing along with a copy of the substituted
horse’s papers, or vet’s affidavit of year of birth and description plus a $50 fee and all mailed to Kohr
Quarter Horses, LLC, P O Box 3475, Gillette WY 82717, and 307.680.5271. Any substituted horse will
be ridden by the originally nominated rider. Substitutions for riders, after May 1, 2016, will be allowed
with a $50 fee.

Two electric eyes will be used.
8. If horse falls, no rerun will be granted.
9. NOMINATION AND SUSTAINING FEES
Total Futurity Entry Fees will be $300.
$100 to nominate March 1, 2016.
$100 to sustain April 1, 2016.
$100 to sustain May 1, 2016.
Any payments post marked after the due date will be figured LATE and assessed a late fee. Late fees
will be $25 per payment missed in addition to any sustaining late fees still owed. After May 1, 2016 and
until May 15, 2016 late fees will be $100. NO late entries taken after May 15, 2016 for the barrel futurity
or the derby.
10. All checks for entry fees will be made payable to “Kohr Quarter Horses, LLC” and mailed to Kohr
Quarter Horses, LLC, P O Box 3475, Gillette WY 82717 307.680.5271. Any insufficient fund checks
received will automatically require all fees payable by cashier’s check plus $30 per ISF check received.
11. There will be an office charge of $100 per entry fee per horse with the balance of $200 being added to
the purse. The division of the purse will be:
30% to the first Go-Round

30% to the second Go-Round
40% to the Fastest Average on the 2 Go-Rounds
12. There will be two go-rounds, the first go-round will be drawn and run on Saturday, May 28, 2016 and
the second go will run in reverse order on Sunday, May 29, 2016.
13. The money jackpotted will be the Added Purse ($7,500) plus $200 for all of the fully paid up horses,
whether they run or not. All late fees or drop out horse’s fees will be retained by the committee.
14. General ground rules and arena riding times will be posted at the Entry Office by Friday, May 26,
2016, on FB and on www.KohrQuarterHorses.com.

16. Full dress code required: Long sleeved shirts, western hats or helmets and riding shoes or boots must
be worn.
17. Any knocked down barrel receives a 5 second penalty.
18. Futurity entries may carry their times in to the Open 4D. Designation and appropriate fees must be
secured before first runner of the futurity.
Westergren Quarter Horses AMATEUR DIVISION Barrel Futurity
Champion will receive a Jessie Jaymes Trophy Buckle to average
winner; fastest times on the two go rounds. Must be present to receive
awards.
Amateur Rider must be a futurity entrant. An amateur rider entry must have never won $500 in 1D
barrel racing futurities prior to December 1, 2015. And Contestant may not hold a WPRA card. Check
the box on the entry form that designates amateur status and please also check a box that designates
TriFecta Eligible, if it applies. Points will be tabulated and awards given to the fastest times on the two
go-rounds in the futurity. NO ADDITIONAL ENTRY FEES REQUIRED. Amateur rider may be asked to
verify amateur status.
Animal Medical Center $1000 added 2D incentive, no additional
entry fees. The 2D incentive will be paid out with a one second split
in each go round of the futurity. Average awards will be given.

Thars’ Feeds 2D Pole Bending Futurity
$200 added, $65 entry fee due May 1, 2016. Awards to winners. Must be present to
receive awards. After 5-1-16, a $25 late fee will be assessed.

3. Entry fees for the pole futurity are $65 due May 1, 2016. Late entries will be taken day of competition
with an additional $25 late fee, and will run at bottom of pre-entered draw.
4. The Pole Futurity will be a 1.5 second D, with a 1.5 second split.

The pole futurity is a one go-round futurity; the fast time in the one go will be the champion. Please be
present to receive awards.
Derby/Maturity
$2,000 added and Champion will receive a Jessie Jaymes Trophy Buckle;
fastest times on the two go rounds. Must be present to receive awards.

The Derby/ Maturity is open to any horse that is under the age of seven, as well any horse that has been
100% paid up in a previous Kohr Quarter Horse Futurity or Derby/ Maturity.
2. Horses are not allowed to enter the futurity and the derby in the same year.
3. Maturity times may be carried over to the Open 4D, designation and appropriate fees must be made
before first run in derby.
4. There will be two go-rounds, money paid back in each of the go-rounds and in the two run average.

Entry Fees will be $200.00, of which $50.00 is an administration charge.

6. May 1, 2016 is last day to nominate and sustain without penalties. Any payments post marked after the
due date will be figured LATE and assessed a late fee. Late fee from 4-2-16 to 5-1-16 will be $25. After
May 1st and until May 10, 2015 will be accepted with the late fee of $75 for a total payment is $275.00.

Futurity Rules & Regulations will apply to the Derby/Maturity where Kohr Quarter Horse Futurity
Committee deems necessary.
$500 added 2D Incentive
No additional entry fees. The 2D incentive will be paid out with a .75 split in each go
round of the derby. No average will be paid. Average awards will be given. Must be
present to receive awards.

Trifecta High Point Awards
HIGH POINT FUTURITY HORSE, HIGH POINT AMATEUR RIDER, HIGH POINT
POLE FUTURITY HORSE and HIGH POINT MATURITY HORSE:
Jessie Jaymes Trophy Buckles to each champion and Roper Award Coats to each
reserve champion high points. Points will be tabulated from the best four of the five
futurities (Except in poles as the pole points will count from the three of four
futurities having poles): 5-States Breeders Futurity, Dash and Dance Barrel
Futurity, Grid Iron Futurity, Fizz Bomb Classic Futurity and the Kohr Quarter
Horse Futurity. Eligible entrants must be entered in four of the five mentioned
futurities for their points to count.
For the High Point Futurity Horse, the High Point Pole Futurity Horse and the High Point Maturity
Horse, points will be counted on the horse. For the High Point Amateur Rider, points will be
counted on the horse and rider as a team. All of the points from all of the futurities (the 5-States
Breeders Futurity, Dash and Dance, Grid Iron, Fizz Bomb Classic and the Kohr Quarter Horse
Futurity) will be tabulated, then the points from their best four of the five futurities will be
calculated, with the most points being awarded a Roper Trifecta Champion. (The pole futurity horse
will be just the three out of four futurities: 5-States Breeders Futurity, Grid Iron, Fizz Bomb and
Kohr Quarter Horse).

Barrel Racing Report Open 4D
Barrel Racing Report OPEN 4D $1,000 Added Saturday, May 28 and $1,000 added
Sunday, May 29, 2016; $10,000 added to Future Fortunes Eligible Horses Saturday
Only.
WPRA approved.

Pre-Entries close May 1, 2016. Entry forms are available at www.KohrQuarterHorses.com. Entry fees
are $51. Entries must be post marked by May 1, 2016 or they are counted as late entries, ($10 per
horse). Mail entry forms and appropriate fees payable to: Kohr Quarter Horses, LLC, P.O. Box 3475,
Gillette WY 82717. All pre-entries will be drawn and posted on www.KohrQuarterHorses.com plus they
will be posted at the entry office by 12 noon, Friday, May 26, 2016.
2. Late entries will be taken up and until the day of with $10 late fee per entry. Check schedule for entry
closing times. All late entries will be drawn for after entries close.
3. Futurity, maturity and youth entries may carry over their times to the 4D.
4. Refunds of entry fees minus the Office Charge with a written Doctor’s or Veterinarian’s release only, and
will be honored before beginning of race.

All Future Fortunes Eligible horses must fill in box at the bottom of 4D Entry Form and have a copy of
their horse’s papers into the office. Their monies won will be paid directly by Future Fortunes.

Youth Barrel Races: Saturday, May 26, 2016. Jessie Jaymes Silversmith Trophy
buckles to the 1st place winners in each division plus many other awards. Must be
present to receive awards.
NHHRV/ Silver Nail Youth Races
Youth 0-6 years of age, as of January 1, 2016 - EF $15
Youth 7-11 years of age, age as of January 1, 2016 – EF $36
Youth 12-15 years of age, age as of January 1, 2016 – EF $36
All youth entries due by Saturday 12 noon, May 26, 2016.
