AM-1250™ DTM PRIMER
AmTech’s AM-1250™ DTM Primer is a fast drying, 2.1 VOC compliant, direct-to-metal primer that is ideal for use on
properly prepared bare substrates, sanded OE finishes as well as properly prepared body fillers. AM-1250 provides
excellent adhesion to bare metal and has outstanding leveling and sanding properties.
Mix as directed below. Stir thoroughly
and strain before spraying.
 4 Parts AM-1250 DTM Primer
 1 Part AM-1254 Activator
POT LIFE:
2 hours (@ 72°F / 22°C)
SURFACE PREPARATION:
1. Clean and dry the repair area.
2. Sand surface with P120—P180 grit
abrasive.
3. Remove all sanding debris with
ICR-0020™, ICR-0014™, ICR-1402™, or
ICR-0010™ Aerosol.
4. Wipe completely dry with a clean,
lint-free cloth.
GUN SET-UP:
High Efficiency: 1.4mm—1.6mm
HVLP:
1.4mm—1.6mm
AIR PRESSURE:
High Efficiency: 15—29 psi at the gun
HVLP:
6—10 psi at the cap
APPLICATION:
2—3 medium wet coats
Note: DO NOT apply AM-1250 over Etch Primer.
FLASH TIME (@ 72°F / 22°C):
5—10 minutes flash between coats
DRY TIME:
 Air Dry: 1 hour
 Baking: 15 minutes at 140°F / 60°C

 Recommended Dried Film Thickness: 2.0 mils

Read all warnings, first aid and safety for all
components before using. Keep out of reach of
children and animals. Wear a properly fitting
NIOSH/MSHA approved respirator (TC-19C or
equivalent) for isocyanates. Follow the respirator manufacturer’s directions for use. Protect
hands with impervious rubber gloves. Wear
face, skin and eye protection. AmTech products
are for industrial use by professional, trained
painters.
