Yahoo project because of a
lack of redundant fiber routes
to the site.
Priority # 1- Fiber optic route to Fremont
Telecom companies were asked for proposals to build a
redundant fiber optic ring between the Fremont Technology
Park and the fiber hotel in downtown Omaha.
Proposals Total Cost - $350,000 (lit fiber) up to $3.9 million (dark fiber)
Private sector funding would be needed and without a
prospect in hand this could be difficult, especially in a down
economy.
