Faith and hope are closely united in today's
readings. The Israelites knew when the
Passover was coming, and so were not in fear,
but had faith and courage, "putting into effect
with one accord the divine institution." In this
we can see a foretelling of the Eucharist that
we celebrate according to Christ's command,
"Do this in memory of me."
We see that Abraham, Sarah, Isaac, and Jacob
died in faith, although they did not see
fulfillment of the promise. We live in hope that
our faith will be fulfilled every time we
celebrate this sacrament. We too are not to be
afraid, but to have hope that our faith will be
fulfilled in the coming of Christ.
FAITH AND HOPE
Our faith consists in hoping for what we do not
see. For if we knew what was coming, we
would not be hoping, but living in knowledge.
We hope in Christ for the coming of the reign
of God, the restoration of all things good and
wonderful, and our promised salvation. All
anxiety can be dispelled in the simple words of
Jesus, "Do not be afraid any longer, little flock,
for your Father is pleased to give you the
kingdom." What words could be more
encouraging at those times when we wonder if
we are being the diligent stewards or the bad
stewards of what has been entrusted to us?

I have returned from Michigan on Saturday, July
30th, and I write this to you from the Poconos. I am
in Bridesburg for this weekend as I was unable to get
a priest to celebrate Mass for this weekend. My
week in the Mackinaw City area was great. I
attended a Seafood Festival and rode through the
locks in Sault Ste. Marie which was quite an
experience. There are many excellent restaurants up
there. Perch, whitefish and walleye are the main fish
available and all are quite good. All in all, this
particular area is full of history. I will spend the next
week in Pennsylvania.
Again, I hope you are enjoying your summer and
vacations. I can’t believe we are already into
August!
May you enjoy wherever you may go and whatever
you do. Please be careful during these hot days. The
Eagles are already into their pre-season games so we
know that September is just around the corner and so
are the cool days of Autumn.
OUR DYNAMIC CATHOLIC THOUGHT FOR
THE WEEK: “Gratitude should always be our
first response for all the blessings in our lives.
Our second response should be to live a life
worthy of the blessings we have received.”
A SECOND THOUGHT FOR THIS WEEK:
“Your friendship with others is not to be taken
lightly. You are changing the direction of your
friends’ lives, for better or for worse. Sooner or
later, we all rise or fall to the level of our
friendships.”
Remember the Four Signs of a Dynamic Catholic:
PRAYER – STUDY – GENEROSITY –
EVANGELIZATION
Wróciłem z Michigan 30 lipca, i piszę do
was z Poconos. Będę w Bridesburgu w ten weekend,
gdyż nie mogłem znaleźć księdza który mógłby
odprawić Mszę w ten weekend. Mój tydzień w
okolicy Mackinaw City był wspaniały. Brałem
udział w Seafood Festival i jechałem przez śluzy w
Sault Ste. Marie, było to dla mnie duże przeżycie.
Istnieje tam wiele doskonałych restauracji. Okoń,
sieja i sandacz to główne ryby dostępne i wszystkie
są bardzo smaczne. W sumie, ten konkretny obszar
jest pełen historii. Spędzę następny tydzień w
Pensylwanii.
Jeszcze raz, mam nadzieję że cieszycie się
latem i wakacjami. Nie mogę uwierzyć, że już mamy
Sierpień!
Korzystajcie z okazji gdziekolwiek
pójdziecie i cokolwiek robicie.
I DRUGA MYŚL W TYM TYGODNIU: "Twoje
przyjaźni z innymi nie należy lekceważyć. Możesz
zmienic kierunek życiu swoich przyjaciół, na lepszy
lub na gorszy. Prędzej czy później wszyscy
wzrośniemy lub spadniemy do poziomu naszej
przyjaźni. "

BAD MANAGEMENT
Anyone who has reached the age of work has probably
experienced what it is like to work under a bad manager.
Perhaps that person just does not know how to
encourage productivity in a way that is kind and
understanding and not abusive. Perhaps that person is
just a bully, causing discouragement and poor morale
among workers, so that many quit because they just
can't stand it. Perhaps that manager does not know how
to manage unproductive and disruptive people in the
office, or others who are the office bullies. That steward
"begins to beat the menservants and the maidservants,
to eat and drink and get drunk."
But every manager also has a boss. And here Christ is
the Master who will come at an unexpected time, and if
he finds the manager not working well and unworthy of
trust, he will apply appropriate sanctions. Christ will
come at a time when we do not know; we place our
faith and our hope in his mercy. But when we doubt
ourselves we have those words of Jesus, assuring us that
the Father has already given us the kingdom. We need
not be afraid. We need only be mindful of Christ's
mercy, and conduct ourselves in a way that is kind,
gentle, and generous to others. We can indeed have
hope.

PREP Registration
I want to bring you up to date on the latest news regarding PREP 2016-2017. Our PREP classes will once
again be held on Thursdays from 6:00PM to 7:30PM. Since we will not be using the school building we will
need to hold the classes in various areas of our campus. We have over 120 children attending PREP and no
one location can accommodate all of them at the same time. Our plan is to use the School Annex (the small
school building across from PJPII School, next to the church), some rooms in the convent building and the
room in the back of chapel (St. Joseph Hall). Once we have our children registered and have an idea of our
class sizes we will be able to assign classrooms. We will also have Level K (kindergarten) available.
I encourage you to register early so that we can order needed supplies and make necessary arrangements for
classrooms.
Please feel free to call the rectory if you have any questions.
FOR YOUR CONVIENIENCE :
There will also be an evening registration on Wednesday, August 17th at the rectory from 6:30PM to 7:30PM.
Registration Fee must be paid at time of registration: $80 for one child, $150 for two children and $50 for each
additional child.
