CLEANING—Best Practices
It’s Not Magic, It’s Microfiber
The rising popularity of microfiber towels has many people asking why? Why are these towels so special? The answer
isn’t magic, its science.
As the name suggests the towels contain many micro-fibers that attach themselves to the smallest, most microscopic
dirt particles—ones that normal cloth fibers can’t pick up. The fibers are made of plastic and attach themselves to
each dirt speck with van der Waals forces. They work as a team to dislodge the dirt and carry it away. The dirt stays
locked inside the fibers until washed in hot water.
WFF Facility Services is Recognized
for Professional Operations and
Sustainability
with Highest Honors
This mechanical cleaning combined with the latest green chemicals ensures a dramatically cleaner surface and preserves our environment. Microfiber towels and mops are in use at all of our campuses. Not only do they pick up and
trap more dirt, meaning less effort, improved sanitation and greater productivity, they also utilize less water protecting this valuable resource.
CIMS and CIMS-Green Building
When combined with proper training on how to fold and use the microfiber cloth and our color coded system to
avoid cross-contamination, this technology provides a very effective way to clean. Our Ladies and Gentlemen take
great pride in their buildings and WFF is committed to always providing to best tools and equipment to enable them
to achieve excellent sustainable outcomes. Even the seemingly simple microfiber cloth can be a tremendous asset
when employed correctly. There is a science to cleaning.
We are extremely proud that we have successfully achieved CIMS
and CIMS-Green Building (CIMS-GB) certifications, both with Honors. We are excited that this process and the resulting certification will have a powerful and positive effect on our company and
partners.
To earn certification, we underwent a comprehensive and rigorous independent assessment by ISSA. This affirmed our delivery
of consistent, quality service and that we are committed to efficient operations and continuous improvement. CIMS certification
is the gold standard within our industry.
CIMS certification is based upon six quality principles that are in
alignment with our own company principles:
“I am thankful to all the hard work and commitment from our
team and proud we achieved CIMS and CIMS-GB certifications,
both with Honors. Creating a technically proficient platform is
critical in investing in our ladies and gentlemen and establishing a
professional environment where they feel empowered and enabled to deliver service excellence,” according to Jonathan Campbell, President.

SAFETY SOLUTIONS
Leading the Way
We are passionate about the safety of our ladies and gentlemen and the communities we serve. WFF believes that safety is a
deliberate commitment and focus. Our environments are dynamic and highly interactive. Commitment to safety is as important as our commitment to customer service and cleanliness. Our teams are in every area every day and are a critical component to campus safety and security.
We thank the ladies and gentlemen who have volunteered to be part of our safety
committees on each campus and to those who are engaged in our monthly company safety discussions.
Initiatives that have come from our teams include our “near miss” and “safety
first” programs. Each are designed to train and reward proactive identification of
potential unsafe conditions or behaviors. Education and awareness are enhanced
through group training and peer support. Energy is focused on positive avoidance
and the sharing of best practices which help us all provide a more caring, protective and enjoyable place to work, study and live.
We are passionate about ensuring every WFF associate goes home
safely to their family and friends every day
Training is critical to give people the
right skills and tools to do their jobs
efficiently and safely. However, we
all know training is not enough. We
have to believe in and truly live our
safety message every day.
Effective communication is essential
in engaging associates and working
towards a positive safety culture.
Believing in safety is about emotion,
trust, accountability and ENERGY.
We approach our associates about
safety in a positive manner. Our
safety culture is about behaviors,
attitudes, values and beliefs.
It is our personal commitment and
responsibility for working safely.
Believability in our safety culture
means communicating safety concerns, striving to actively learn, adapting and modifying our behaviors based
on lessons learned by mistakes and
being rewarded in a manner consistent with these values.
We are reinforcing our safety culture
by actively engaging our associates in
safety conversations! We ask what can
be done to prevent an injury while
performing a certain task.
Our sincerity in our desire for a safe
workplace will gain us respect, trust
and believability. When we balance
clear expectations with compassionate
leadership and unity - we will go far
together.
WFF would like to congratulate and thank the following

Let me tell you the experience of Jing An - “Ann”.
Last summer she came back from China to take a
summer class. Her birthday was spent on the plane.
It was not easy. Here are Ann's words:
“Everything was empty - the campus, my apartment,
my heart. My video class was hard. To be better, I
stayed in the studio until midnight every day. Vending machines became my cafe. I almost dropped the
class because I thought I would only pass this class
when pigs fly. Looking back - I got good support
from my professor.
However, the turning point was after I miserably
failed my first quiz. I was falling apart under the
pressure. Hopelessness and regret were in my mind
constantly, eating me away. When thinking about
my parents and friends, I cried. I decided to get some
tissue from the Harvey Business Center while I was
passing by.
I never expected a cleaning lady to be inside. She
quickly recognized that something was wrong. She
stopped work immediately and walked quickly to
me. I saw she was getting close, so I tried to stop
crying, but failed.
When she stood right opposite me, she started asking me questions, I am not sure because she didn't
speak English. I did not know how to answer, so I
just kept shaking my head. Suddenly, she hugged
me. I was surprised for a second, then I cried in her
arms for almost 10 minutes. I just felt so warm at
that time, even though we did not know each other,
even though we could not communicate, even
though she did not know what happened to me.
My experience was an extremely precious gift. It was
covered with a rough exterior, as a rough rind covers
the sweetest fruit.”
So, Ann stuck it out. She graduates this year. Why?
Her words again - "I do these things because I would
like to do something for OC, though it is just very
little. OC gives me so much I never expected. This
story is only 1% of all impressive memories I have in
OC. It might take me forever to tell them all. I do not
know how I can thank OC enough. Furthermore, I
believe a story like this happened everyday in our
lovely campus."
God bless Ann. God bless her professors. God bless
that cleaning lady. And, God bless you for helping
make a place like Oklahoma Christian a reality.

that, the dorm has become attached to her like

Amanda goes out of her way to make living in
Powell a positive experience for everyone without exception.
During finals, she brought cookies for every

going home, either for the summer or Christmas, she made us feel as if we already were

compared her to an angel on multiple occasions. Powell would not be the same if she

This story came to me recently. A student, a
young man had a rather significant seizure
during class. He was working at a computer
when it occurred. I would like to single out Paul
King, who is the head of the cleaning crew in

We are grateful to Paul and his team for their

to step up and go the extra mile to take care of
another human being in distress. This speaks
volumes about the caliber of person Paul

Gratitude.
Being grateful is such a powered force.
The gratitude we feel for our team member’s
commitment and sacrifices and the gratitude
we feel for our customer’s support and partnership is the motivation that pushes us to
strive for excellence and not accept average.
The work that is performed by our teams
around the country is often unseen. The science, logistics and personal commitment to
make it all happen on a daily basis is often
not understood by most people who utilize
the facilities we serve. Our desire to provide
the technical platform and positive environment that enable elevated performance is
driven by gratitude to the Ladies and Gentlemen who perform this work with such care
and personal commitment, allowing WFF and
the institutions we serve to shine.
The true partnerships we enjoy with our customers is another big reason to be grateful.
When you are viewed as an extension of the
team and not just a “vendor” it creates a
whole different level of engagement and
commitment. You carry an inner desire and
drive to protect and add value to people who
care for you and treat you with professional
respect. This applies at a collective and individual level and fuels that extra effort that is
needed to raise the bar. The energy that
gratitude brings elevates work from a chore
to a valued journey and supports the sense of
purpose, connection and contribution we all
cherish.

Training is critical to give people the

efficiently and safely. However, we
all know training is not enough. We

Believing in safety is about emotion,

We approach our associates about

It is our personal commitment and

Believability in our safety culture

be done to prevent an injury while
performing a certain task.
Our sincerity in our desire for a safe
workplace will gain us respect, trust
and believability. When we balance
clear expectations with compassionate
leadership and unity - we will go far
together.
WFF would like to congratulate and thank the following

Retirement
It is always bittersweet when one of our leaders makes the decision to retire. In Bill Lewis,
we’re losing a truly dedicated servant to his
institution.
Bill had led our onsite operations at Oklahoma
Christian University for the last 14 years, earning the deep respect and admiration from all in
the OC community.
Bill has been recognized as WFF Director
of the Year. He has
15 Years
been a model colleague, friend to the
WFF family and he will

We are excited for Bill to embark on his next
chapter. We can’t express enough the gratitude we feel toward Bill for the many years of
dedication and leadership. WFF’s long term
Director Steve LaCroix was exited to transfer to
20 Years
OC and become part of their wonderful family,
but he knows he has big shoes to fill.
