The MG 42 (universal
machine-gun model 42) is

used by the German Armed
Force in World War II. The
gun was introduced in 1942.
The construction was
designed by the mechanical-

engineer Werner Gruner,
who worked for the metal
and lacquer fabric Johannes
Großfuß in Döbeln (Saxony,
Germany). Gruner was
specialised for mass production and wasn’t a professional gun expert. So he wasn’t
under duress of the other
gun engineers. He looked
at the principles of other
machine-guns and in the end
he connected them all in the
MG42. The machine-gun 42
convinced of a high reliability
even in bad weather con-
ditions and you have still a
good shooting accurately.
