Use 2-part epoxy to glue on barrel assembly (A), making sure it slides until it touches a raised bump (B) on the frame. 18. Glue cylinder covers (C) on both sides of the gun. You’ll need to sand the front piece flush with the frame. 20. Epoxy grip reinforcement plate (not shown) into grip frame. 21. Proceed to final painting. PAINTING 22. Apply a coat of Dark Grey Primer to see if there are any imperfections that need to be filled. 23. Apply a base coat of Testors Metalizer “Gun Metal” over the entire gun, buff with soft cloth when dry. 24. Paint grips (E) with a base coat of Tamiya NATO Brown. Take an old tube sock (the thicker, the better!), dip in black acrylic paint, daub off excess and lightly brush wood grain onto grips. Keep strokes parallel (practice on a scrap first!) and then seal with gloss top coat when dry. Glue onto gun - there is no need to remove the seam. Glue lanyard ring (F) into base of grips. 25. Paint BPRD seals (G) with gold paint. Apply wash of thinned black paint to bring out detail. Glue into grips as shown. 26. (Optional) Paint square on front sight (H) bright orange. FINAL 27. Loop round lace (I) around lanyard ring as shown in diagram. Fray the ends. 28. Paint yourself red, put on your Hand of Doom and go blast some monsters with your new hand cannon!
