1. GENERAL INFORMATION
1.1. Intended use
E2R SYSTEM offers complex operation of production processes connected
with weighment processes at different stages. Thanks to a modular
construction, this software is very flexible and can easily match a profile,
specificity and needs of a company, as well as an individual client’s needs.
E2R SYSTEM
E2R PGC is a computer system which consists of E2R SYSTEM software
and RADWAG measuring devices. It allows both, synchronization of
databases of operators and products, and recording weighments and PGC
controls executed with the use of devices linked in ETHERNET network.
The system enables monitoring of measuring devices in a real time, as well
as control in order to start or stop supervision of a computer.
Measuring devices network might comprise one or several instrument
types.
4
ETHERNET
Diagram of E2R PGC system in Ethernet network
E2R PGC system enables a shortened and detailed PGC control report,
PGC control graph and statistics report with a graph for a particular product.
Such a graph is based on weighments collected from balances during
determined period of time.
E2R PGC module, as well as other E2R SYSTEM modules, is a multi-stand
software and can cooperate with several instrumentss and computers.
Every device is an independent weighing stand and it can work without
interruptions during a network or server failure. Information about control is
regularly sent to a computer program. All messages concerning control are
displayed on a measuring device and a computer at the same time. The
control reports are saved to the measuring device and recorded to the
software database.
Scale operator decides about the control startup. This makes the operator
independent of the software. The software regularly stores data which is
registered in the software database.
5
Control activated with the use of a measuring device is automatically
finished after a determined number of packages has been controlled. To set
controlled packages number operator uses software options. When the
control is over, it is possible to generate a basic and detailed report
containing all necessary information about its result.
The user can assess the quality of packaged goods on the basis of
gathered data and check their compatibility with:
• an act ‘On Pre-packaged Goods’ of 7th May 2009 on Pre-packaged
Goods (Journal of Laws of 2009, No. 91, item 740), regarding
quantity control of packaged goods – by a random selection of
measuring results and sending them to the procedure of packaged
goods control, conformable with the European Directives and the
board directives.
• company internal quality control system, which can be modified in
terms of:
- number of batches,
- negative values of errors T,
- positive values of errors T,
- a coefficient for calculation of the acceptable average threshold.
There are two possibilities of control activation:
• Started by a measuring device operator who sends a message about
the control startup to the software,
• Started by a software operator who selects a measuring device on
which the control will take place, a confirmation on the measuring
device is required.
Other function of the software:
• Automation of the control process,
• Operator mistakes control,
• Possibility of two platform scales operation,
• Defining access rights to particular functions of the software,
• Printout of control reports,
• Printout of statistics,
• Reports and statistics control from a freely chosen site of a company
network.
Software enables control according to the selected algorithms:
• Control with an average tare
 Non-destructive average tare
• Control with a variable tare
6
 Non-destructive empty – full
 Destructive full – empty
 Destructive empty – full
Caution:
1. Because of software updates, this manual and the software might
differ slightly.
2. RADWAG does not take responsibility for:
• software operation results and possible errors caused by an
inadequate usage.
• data protection and its loss caused by software/computer inadequate
usage and lack of spare copy.
3. RADWAG does not store any archival software versions therefore
the company cannot make them accessible in case of loss; update to
the latest version of E2R SYSTEM will be required if such situation
occurs.
1.2. Instruments compatible with E2R PGC
Because of the adopted protocol of data exchange, E2R PGC is compatible
only with RADWAG measuring devices. Instruments series accordant with
the software are as follows: WLY, WPY, HTY, 3Y.
7
Set appropriate working parametres for each measuring device of network
in order to ensure an expected measuring accuracy and a proper
cooperation with the software. Please read a user manual of a relevant
measuring device to find out how to conduct procedure of setting its
working parametres.
2. SOFTWARE STARTUP
To activate the software you can use either a desktop shortcut or menu:
START/PROGRAMS/RADWAG/E2R SYSTEM/E2R SYSTEM
2.1. Adding the first user
On the first startup, you will see a message that there are no users in the
database. On pressing OK, the software will automatically open a dailog
window allowing you to add a new user.
8
Fill in the scale code/ login, password and name fields, next go to Group
field and select Administrator option.
Caution:
Remember that the first user must be a user with administrator authorities in
order to avoid problems with the software options setup.
Fill in all necessary fields, remember that scale code functions as login.
Save changes and close the window.
Press OK to confirm the program restart.
9
2.2. Logging in
On the software startup, you need to log in.
In the log in box insert Login/ Scale code and the operator’s Password.
Confirm the changes pressing OK and wait for the main window of a
program to be opened.
3. MAIN WINDOW
After log-in procedure, the software main window opens:
10
The main window features 4 areas:
• Top Toolbar,
• Navigation Bar (working area),
• Status Bar,
• Workpane (preview area).
Top Toolbar contains program settings, logout and exit button.
Navigation Bar contains program functions and modules.
Status bar displays information about a software version, a logged in user
and his access level, active mode and software licence.
11
Dialog windows and dialog boxex of modules are displayed in a workpane.
To open a given window and read its data and information the user must
press any button of a Navigation Bar.
3.1. Software workpane
Information displayed in a workpane is taken from database. Weighments
may be sorted and filtered. Filtering mechanisms enable search for
a specific kind of information of a given column. Sorting mechanisms
(grouping) allow to summarize data for a given column.
3.1.1. Data sorting
Workpanes of all available modules allow to freely sort displayed data. In
order to group the data select a given column header and drag it to the
place marked with a red square in the picture.
The selected header will be displayed as a button (its name visible for the
user). Press the button once to sort the list lowest to highest or vice versa.
3.1.2. Data filtering
To get to additional filtering options press a pictogram placed on the right
side of each column. To see the pictogram place a mouse cursor over the
chosen column.
Upon clicking right mouse button drop-down menu of sorting options
appears.

In the bottom part of a workpane there is a data filter allowing to generate
five basic statistics for a given column. Place the mouse cursor over
workpane footer and press right mouse button to select an appropriate
statistics type.
Basic statistics:

Average value of a given column data
Depending on data type there is a possibility of choosing all 5 options for a
given column.
3.1.3. Filter Editor

workpane. By means of this button Filter Editor window is activated where
database data can be freely filtered.
14
Filter creator allows to set one or many filters, it provides the user with a
precise data filtering and detailed reports.
The user may set particular filter elements:
a) Filter groups (and, or, not and, not or)

It is possible to precisely determine filter criterion of a given column, eg. if
you want to get a result concerning product “Onion” than proceed as
follows: “Product name – Equals – value: Onion”. Add another criterion
by pressing “+” character located next to filter group if you want to find only
specified weighments.
Press Apply button to confirm configuration and activate filter.
