Greetings from Maine’s January Thaw.
As you can see, we’ve been expanding our catalog with more
musicians whose work we admire. We’re proud to offer the last
CD that the legendary Helen Schneyer made before she died.
We also have music by Jay Ungar & Molly Mason, Ruth Ungar’s
solo album and a recent tribute to Rachel Carson called “Songs
of the Earth” and we are very pleased to include the folk-rock
quintet, The Mammals in our catalog.
We’ve been encouraged by the response from folks who have
down-loaded songs and whole albums, so we’ll keep doing that.
We always look forward to hearing from you about the music in
your lives so let us know what you listen to and how you like to
listen to it.
Happy Spring!

Departure shows the band moving
towards a completely unique sound.
The rocking energy of fiddles and
banjos has been augmented with
electric guitar, keyboards and a
heavy rhythm section. The songs
are political in tone yet completely
accessible. Departure is a break

This is their third studio album.

Timberhead Music is excited to
offer More New Music from Jay
Unger and Molly Mason and Jay’s
daughter Ruth Unger. Jay and Molly
are musicians of enormous talent
who draw their inspiration from
a wide range of American musical
styles: 19th-century classics, lively
Appalachian, Cajun, and Celtic
fiddle tunes and favorites from the
golden age of country and swing,
along with their own songs, fiddle
tunes, and orchestral compositions.
Ruth Unger sings and plays
fiddle, uke, and guitar in multiple
bands, including The Mammals,
Sometimes Why, and Wayfaring
Strangers. She is best known for her
emotive, multi-styled voice with
which she makes the old sound new
and the new sound old.

These two great albums were assembled in

that could take you away from February. Highly
