f t l I t t l l Celebrations are good. The Salvation Army has just celebrated 150 years. So what has that to do with Bar’N’Bus? Bar’N’Bus has parked 2 of its buses at the Salvation Army Farm in Hadleigh for a number of years, for which we are grateful. Captain Susanna Offor of the Salvation Army helped set up and lead the Canvey Island Bar’N’Bus team, we thank Susanna and her husband John and wish them well in their new appointment. Some team members attend various Salvation Army Halls, one team member works at the Salvation Army Training Centre. So we have close links. I wonder what William Booth would have made of Bar’N’Bus? William Booth took God’s message out on the streets to those who would never enter a church. Bar’N’Bus takes the buses out to share God’s love with young people who would not enter our churches, reaching out to all with God’s unconditional love. The message is the same. There is a Saviour who loves us all. To our teams – you do a great job, keep reaching out, you are Kingdom building! Updates from the teams News from Bradwell Pilgrimage 2015 Call out for new drivers! Blessings to you all. Would you want to raise funds for Bar’N’Bus? Bus South Woodham Ferrers We have been blessed by visits from Carole Ball, the Anglican vicar on several evenings. She came to see how the bus ran and to see the youngsters. We had a meeting with the Christian Council and the bus team which was constructive and fruitful. Andy Drake who works with YMCA in Chelmsford, is conducting a survey of youth provision in the city and has met team members to discuss the bus. We will meet for 4 weeks this Summer and are hoping to hold an ‘event’ on one evening. All the youngsters on the bus are polite and friendly and often comment on the posters, especially the one which says 1cross, 3 nails 4given. Very powerful. We ask for your prayers for the team, as we have lost one lady through ill health and her husband, although back on the team, is far from well. One real highlight, Greg, a team member, is to be a daddy in December. This is a real answer to many prayers and a miracle. Maldon It has been an interesting couple of months for the Maldon team. We have not been out much due to a variety of issues, when we have been out the youth have been coming and still supported us. It has been decided that we take a pause and regroup and pray as a team and relaunch in September!! We are still going to the prom every 2 weeks to pray and talk to youth to keep those important relationships going. Please pray for the youth and team and watch this space for September!!!! Stanford and Corringham No news since last newsletter as bus has been cancelled several times. G T o in b o p b T c s fr O h c d w w tr p v p R A a b a a h Teams Grays The last few months unfortunately have not been the best. There were several occasions when the bus was unable to get out of the depot because it was blocked in. The team have been under staffed for several weeks due to illness. There have been (and still are) travellers staying in the car park that we use. Finally the resilience of the team was very much in evidence when they had to cook hot dogs in the car park because the bus had broken down on a busy high street and had to be towed back to the depot. Through all of this the young people have been so understanding, patient and caring. Each week they have turned up, spent time with us, asked about and shown sympathy for those that are ill and have not shown any anger through these frustrating times. On the positive side we have recently seen a number of old faces. These young people have been back to tell us of some successes in their lives; passing exams, doing well at college and being offered apprentiships. Some have overcome a number of personal difficulties to get to this point, and it’s really encouraging to see them do so well and want to come back and share it with us. On the night we broke down, one young lad who used to visit us a couple of years ago spent time talking with us, and was really trying to help. We did explain that although the offer of a jump start was very kind, it probably was not going to work on the bus! It just showed how well regarded and valued we are, not just from those who attend now, but people we have met in the past. Rayleigh At Rayleigh we continue to enjoy a good size group of young people each week. We are pleased that we have three or four potential new team members and Joe is able to bring the football cage once a month - which will be fun. At this time of the year the activity that is enjoyed most of all is simply sitting on the plastic chairs outside the bus and chatting. We all enjoy that! The recently appointed local police sergeant had not heard of Bar'N'Bus, so we are putting her right on that (we have a meeting planned). morf setadpU smaet eht morf sweN llewdarB 5102 egamirgliP wen rof tuo llaC !srevird ehT .doog era snoitarbeleC detarbelec tsuj sah ymrA noitavlaS od ot taht sah tahw oS .sraey 051 sah suB’N’raB ?suB’N’raB htiw eht ta sesub sti fo 2 dekrap hgieldaH ni mraF ymrA noitavlaS ew hcihw rof ,sraey fo rebmun a rof annasuS niatpaC .lufetarg era depleh ymrA noitavlaS eht fo roffO dnalsI yevnaC eht dael dna pu tes annasuS knaht ew ,maet suB’N’raB hsiw dna nhoJ dnabsuh reh dna wen rieht ni llew meht maet emoS .tnemtnioppa noitavlaS suoirav dnetta srebmem rebmem maet eno ,sllaH ymrA ymrA noitavlaS eht ta skrow esolc evah ew oS .ertneC gniniarT .sknil C Sa 15 w pa Sa fo ar O se B an th ap m A w Tr lin dluow htooB mailliW tahw rednow I mailliW ?suB’N’raB fo edam evah no tuo egassem s’doG koot htooB dluow ohw esoht ot steerts eht suB’N’raB .hcruhc a retne reven s’doG erahs ot tuo sesub eht sekat dluow ohw elpoep gnuoy htiw evol gnihcaer ,sehcruhc ruo retne ton lanoitidnocnu s’doG htiw lla ot tuo .emas eht si egassem ehT .evol .lla su sevol ohw ruoivaS a si erehT Iw ha B th ne ta lo no ou lo Th ,boj taerg a od uoy – smaet ruo oT era uoy ,tuo gnihcaer peek !gnidliub modgniK To ke K ?suB’N’raB rof sdnuf esiar ot tnaw uoy dluoW .lla uoy ot sgnisselB B ot ekil dluow uoy fi uoy morf raeh ot evol dluow eW ro yad nuf ,miws derosnops a ,elas ekac a egnarra !retteb eht evitaerc erom ehT . esle gnihtyna nosrepriahC - sknaB lezaH H
