Invenso is dedicated to deliver a platform that is easy to use, easy to manage and easy to integrate. Easy to Use XperiDo is all about productivity. It reduces time-consuming, often manual and error-prone document creation processes to one or two simple mouse clicks, resulting in more engaging and consistent documents. Easy to Manage XperiDo is a server-side document generation platform. The server-side approach not only results in a powerful solution, but also one that is easy to manage. XperiDo provides for central administration of server instances, roles and connections, data sources, data sets and templates. Template design is intuitive and within reach of any experienced Microsoft Word user. Easy to Integrate Document generation is not a stand-alone process. Flawless communication between the document generation server and the context application is essential to a swift document creation process. XperiDo provides an API/SDK to integrate the solution in any context. For Microsoft Dynamics CRM, an out-ofthe-box integration is available, that fully embeds XperiDo in the Microsoft Dynamics CRM user experience. The 2015 Q1 Release is focused around these key principles. XperiDo is now even easier to use, to manage and to integrate than it was before. 3 | Invenso XperiDo 2015 Q1 Release Preview Guide Key Investment Areas XperiDo Nucleus 2.0 XperiDo Nucleus is the most generic version of the XperiDo document generation platform. It is designed to be integrated in any software landscape as an out-of-the-box component for document generation and delivery. The XperiDo 2015 Q1 release includes a new version of XperiDo Nucleus, version 2.0. New XperiDo Template Archive (XTA) File Format XperiDo Nucleus 2.0 comes with a new template file format. XperiDo templates are now saved and stored as XTAs (XperiDo Template Archives). The rich XTA wrapper format can contain multiple docxs (e.g. multiple language versions of a template) and all sorts of template properties and settings. During the upgrade process, your existing docx XperiDo templates will automatically be converted to XTAs. Dynamic Fields Dynamic fields are variables which can be populated on the fly as a user creates a document. Extra questions so to speak, that are presented to the user during the document creation process. There are seven types of dynamic fields that can be added to a template: - single line of plain text multiple lines of HTML number option set (single select or multi-select) date time date-time combination. Dynamic fields can be mapped in templates and be part of conditions or formulas. The example below makes use of dynamic fields to choose which data will be printed on a visitor badge. 4 | Invenso XperiDo 2015 Q1 Release Preview Guide Markers Markers are identifiers that can be used to categorize templates. For instance when a list of relevant templates should be shown in a certain context, markers and marker values can be used to identify which templates are relevant and which templates are not. Templates can be tagged with more than one value per marker and with values from different markers. 5 | Invenso XperiDo 2015 Q1 Release Preview Guide If you would like to load a list of Marketing or Sales-related templates to be used in 2015 in the EMEA region, you can add the relevant marker values to your templates in order to achieve that categorization. New Data Set Types Next to databases and XSDs, data sets can now be defined by complex XSDs and XBscripts. Complex XSDs are combinations of multiple related schemas, and can be uploaded as a zip archive. An XBscript that contains a data definition can also serve as a data set definition. 6 | Invenso XperiDo 2015 Q1 Release Preview Guide Parent-Child Relation between Projects and Inheritance XperiDo Nucleus projects can be related to other XperiDo Nucleus projects in a parent-child (1:N) relation. Child projects can inherit data sets, templates, markers and assets from a parent project. Additionally, child projects can have their own templates and assets. API/SDK The 2.0 release contains a complete make-over of the XperiDo Nucleus API/SDK. The new version is available in a SOAP/REST flavour and in a .NET/java flavour. The generateDoc and organizeDoc services on XBintegrator are deprecated and no longer supported. Alternatively, the XperiDo Nucleus SDK can be called from within XBscript version 6.6. 7 | Invenso XperiDo 2015 Q1 Release Preview Guide XperiDo for Microsoft Dynamics CRM 3.3 XperiDo for Microsoft Dynamics CRM is a seamlessly integrated version of the XperiDo document generation platform for Microsoft Dynamics CRM 2011/2013/2015 On Premise and Microsoft Dynamics CRM Online. XperiDo integrates into Microsoft Dynamics CRM as a managed solution and connects to its server component through a web interface and a workflow assembly. The XperiDo 2015 Q1 Release includes version 3.3 of XperiDo for Microsoft Dynamics CRM. Ready for Microsoft Dynamics CRM 2015 XperiDo for Microsoft Dynamics CRM 3.3 is fully compatible with Microsoft Dynamics CRM 2015. The table below provides a full CRM version compatibility overview. XD CRM 2015 CRM 2013 CRM 2011 On Prem Online On Prem Online On Prem 3.3 3.2 * * 3.1 * Import of updated solution required. Advanced Caching The most time-consuming aspect of the document generation process has proven to be the exchange of data between Microsoft Dynamics CRM and the XperiDo Server. To reduce that time to the absolute minimum, XperiDo 3.3 caches significantly more data than its predecessors. XTA Template Format XperiDo for Microsoft Dynamics CRM 3.3 comes with a new template file format. 8 | Invenso XperiDo 2015 Q1 Release Preview Guide Multilanguage Templates XperiDo 3.3 for Microsoft Dynamics CRM contains the capability to create and manage multiple language versions of your templates and automatically select the correct language version based on your CRM values. For many organizations, this feature will drastically reduce the number of templates they need to produce highly personalized and engaging documents. That makes life easier for template designers, but also for end users, who will have a much shorter list of templates to choose from. The language preferences of customers, business partners, or other interest groups are often stored in Microsoft Dynamics CRM. This input can be picked up by XperiDo to automatically select the correct language to generate a document. Alternatively, you can select a language in the generation process. Data Set Tokens With Data Set Tokens you can easily include variable CRM data into all relevant output parameters that are populated during the document generation process. These are a few examples scenarios where this feature could be useful: Give your document a name like Invoice No {InvoiceNumber} for {Customer/Account/AccountName} Automatically dump the Bill to Address Composite in the associated letter activity Create a follow up task with references to all relevant content Use tokens in the e-mail subject and body to create a personalized e-mail. 9 | Invenso XperiDo 2015 Q1 Release Preview Guide Auto-population of Activity Fields XperiDo can automatically create letter, task and e-mail activities alongside the generated document. The earlier versions of XperiDo for Microsoft Dynamics CRM allowed you to populate a subset of the activity fields. The new 3.3 version supports all standard letter, task, e-mail and note fields. You can define default values for all the activity and note fields in the template settings. Using the data set tokens feature, these values can be dynamic. 10 | Invenso XperiDo 2015 Q1 Release Preview Guide Enhanced Output Feedback The overlay screen that appears after the generation process can be set to contain detailed information on the document generation process. It can also contain links to the different items that have been created. Examples of such links are direct links to note or activity records that have been created or links to external platforms were the documents are stored (e.g. Microsoft SharePoint) or processed (e.g. DocuSign). 11 | Invenso XperiDo 2015 Q1 Release Preview Guide DocuSign e-Signature Integration The 3.3 version of XperiDo for Microsoft Dynamics CRM has an optional integration with the DocuSign Digital Transaction Platform. This integration allows you to include placeholders for electronic signatures in your templates. Documents based on such templates are processed securely on the DocuSign Transaction Platform. The DocuSign integration supports two types of electronic signature processing: - - Remote signing via e-mail: XperiDo generates a document containing one or more placeholders for electronic signatures. The document is delivered to the DocuSign platform. All parties who need to sign the document receive an e-mail with a secure link to review and sign the document on the DocuSign platform. After the transaction all parties receive the signed document. In-person signing: This type of signing is typical for transactions between parties who are present in the same room. XperiDo generates a document containing one or more placeholders for electronic signatures. After generation, the document is automatically opened in the DocuSign platform and the transaction initiator is invited to pass controls to each of the signing parties, one after the other. The signing process can be initiated either interactively by a user of via a workflow step. 12 | Invenso XperiDo 2015 Q1 Release Preview Guide Localization The User Experience of XperiDo for Microsoft Dynamics CRM 3.3 is also available in German. Next to German, also English, French and Dutch localizations of the UI/UX are available. The XperiDo UI language is automatically synchronized with the users’ language settings in Microsoft Dynamics CRM. 13 | Invenso XperiDo 2015 Q1 Release Preview Guide XperiDo Template Design Add-in for Microsoft Word 6.6 Both XperiDo Nucleus 2.0 and XperiDo for Microsoft Dynamics CRM 3.3 connect to the XperiDo Template Design Add-in for Microsoft Word 6.6. This COM add-in for Microsoft Word allows you to design XperiDo templates, insert mappings, define conditional content insertion and set conditional layout. The XperiDo Template Design Add-in for Microsoft Word 6.6 is compatible with Microsoft Word 2007, 2010 and 2013. Template Language Management The XperiDo Template Design Add-in for Microsoft Word 6.6 supports templates with multiple language variants. The overall template, which will be visible to the end user, is an XTA template archive that contains multiple docx files, one for each language variant. 14 | Invenso XperiDo 2015 Q1 Release Preview Guide When creating a new language variant for an existing template, you can choose to start designing the language variant either from a blank canvas or from a copy of another language variant. When you select the second option, only the text needs to be translated. E-signature Placeholders Templates created with the 6.6 version of the template design add-in, can contain placeholders for electronic signatures. The XperiDo 2015 Q1 release supports handling of the electronic signatures via the DocuSign Digital Transaction platform. Rich Lay-out Insertions Templates can contain mappings of rich lay-out input data. Chunks of html, Microsoft Word-documents, Rich Text files and so on can be mapped into a template, retaining their original rich formatting. In the 6.6 version a number of file types have been added to the list of supported input formats, including PDF and XPS. PDF and XPS files can be mapped as an image inside an XperiDo document template. 15 | Invenso XperiDo 2015 Q1 Release Preview Guide Check-in Feedback The XperiDo template Design Add-in for Microsoft Word has template version control and a checkin/check-out mechanism to download, edit and upload templates which are stored on the XperiDo Server. Upon check-in of a template, the XperiDo Template Design Add-in 6.6 provides more feedback than its predecessors on the check-in operation. It shows messages, warnings and errors. Especially when templates contain mistakes or errors, this feedback mechanism is helpful to quickly identify and solve the issue(s). 16 | Invenso XperiDo 2015 Q1 Release Preview Guide 17 | Invenso XperiDo 2015 Q1 Release Preview Guide Conclusion Automating document creation and delivery flows is crucial in making today’s organisations more productive, efficient and successful.
