Additionally, several of our physicians are certified to perform robotic surgeries with the da Vinci Surgical System. Obstetrics and Gynecology services are offered at all three of our main locations and on a limited basis at our satellite locations in Park City and McPherson. Obstetrics As specialty trained obstetricians, our physicians offer preconception counseling and care for both normal and high-risk obstetrical patients. The physician/patient relationship is an important part of obstetrical care. At Associates in Women’s Health, you will always have access to your physician or the physician on call. Generally obstetrical visits begin between the 8th and 12th week of pregnancy and occur on a monthly basis until the 28th week. Visits then increase to twice a month until the 36th week, at which time visits are scheduled weekly until delivery. Gynecology Gynecological services are offered for young women in their adolescent years and throughout a woman’s lifetime. Routine well woman examinations, HPV vaccinations, evaluation and treatment of abnormal Pap smears and menstrual disorders are provided by all general obstetricians and gynecologists. In addition, some surgical procedures to treat bleeding disorders can now be performed within the office, saving patients both time and money. Mammography clinics are conveniently located within close proximity of all three of our main locations. Maternal-Fetal Medicine Maternal-Fetal Medicine is a subspecialty of Obstetrics and Gynecology with a focus on interpreting obstetrical ultrasounds; identifying and managing potential high-risk conditions and birth defects. He completed his fellowship in California before moving back to establish his practice here. His services help women suffering from incontinence, overactive bladder, pelvic organ prolapse and a variety of surgical problems involving the female pelvis. Appointments can be scheduled by calling 316-219-6777. Gynecological Oncology Gynecological Oncology is a subspecialty of obstetrics and gynecology specializing in the treatment of women with pre-cancerous lesions and cancer of the reproductive organs or more specifically the ovary, endometrium, uterus, cervix, vagina and vulva. Our Gynecological Oncologists are James E Delmore, MD, and Jacqueline M Morgan, MD. Both physicians are highly skilled surgeons performing not only traditional surgeries but also many using the da Vinci Robotic Surgical System. The use of the robot enhances visualization allowing for more efficient tumor removal and reduces blood loss and postoperative complications often, resulting in a quicker recovery. The nature of their specialty provides patients with a strong patient-tophysician relationship because the same physician is involved in the diagnosis, surgical treatment and management of chemotherapy. It should be noted however that not all patients require surgical treatment or chemotherapy. Each patient’s condition is evaluated and treatment options are discussed with the patient and her family to determine the course of treatment best for her. Our Gynecological Oncology department is located at our East Wichita office at 3232 E Murdock, Wichita, KS 67208. An appointment with a Gynecological Oncologist usually requires a referral from one of the patients’ medical care providers. For more information about an appointment please call 316-219-6777.
