KFDI’s Afternoon Host, Tony Brueski livens up the
afternoon hours with today’s best country music. Tony
was born and raised in Wisconsin and at the age of 14
when he began his radio career. In 2006 he joined the
Journal Broadcast team as KFDI Afternoon Host. Fall of
2012, Tony will be a part of a new travel show. Listen to
Tony every weekday from 3pm- 7pm.
MIKE MCQUILLIAM

Promotions and Marketing Director and KFDI Evening
Host, Mike keeps the country music flowing through
the evening hours. A native to Newton, Kansas, Mike
began his radio career after attending Wichita State
University and Kansas State where he studied music
and mathematics. Mike is a seasoned award winning PA
announcer for the Wichita Thunder during his time
away from the KFDI studio. You can hear Mike every
weekday from 7pm- 12am.

Bluegrass from The Rockin' Banjo
Ranch with Orin Friesen
Sunday: 7:00 AM - 8:00 AM
In 1973, he began hosting a bluegrass program on KBULAM radio in Wichita, which is known today as KFDI-FM.
Almost 40 years later, Friesen still hosts the syndicated
show, “The Rockin’ Banjo Ranch,” every Sunday morning at
7 on KFDI. Orin is married to Classic Country 92.3-FM Bekki
Gardner. He enjoys spending time on his “Rockin’ Banjo
Ranch raising horses and spending time with his family. In
1990, he was named the very first Bluegrass Broadcaster of
the Year by the International Bluegrass Music Association.
In addition to his radio work, Friesen keeps busy as the
operations manager and leader of a cowboy band called
the Prairie Rose Rangers, the house band for the Prairie
Rose Chuckwagon Suppers at Benton.
SCOTT PIPER
Weekends: 7:00 PM- 12:00 AM
Scott began working at KFDI in August of 1983
doing overnight coverage. After working middays
for sixteen years, he became the Production
Manager for Journal Broadcast Group of Wichita
in 2000, while retaining his Sunday afternoon onair duties. When Scott is away from the studio, he
plays guitar and fiddle on a sporadic basis with
various groups of old friends around Wichita and
Lawrence. Listen every Sunday from 7pm- 12am
to hear Scott.
