Requirements for all Rider Education Riding Courses
Proper Riding Attire ‐ All Riders and Co‐Riders must wear "proper" riding gear while riding.
This will include, at a minimum, a DOT approved helmet, eye protection, full‐fingered
gloves, over‐the‐ankle foot protection (boots preferred), with the balance of the body fully
covered (leather or abrasion‐resistant attire preferred; denim accepted.) Jackets, pants, or
shirts should be a single piece of apparel and not be modular (e.g.: no "riding sleeves" or
zip‐off pants). Although long sleeved T‐shirts technically fulfill the requirement they are
discouraged from use where and when practical.
Pre‐Ride Inspection – All Riders will be asked to perform and pass a pre‐ride inspection
called a TCLOCS (two wheeled vehicles), a Trike Check, a Sidecar Rig Check, and a Trailer
Check as applicable. These forms are available on the Rider Education website as forms
N.17, N.18, N.21, and N.19 respectively, at
http://gwrra.org/regional/ridered/officerpage.html#a1 under “All Rider Education Program
