Starwood Hotels, will be opening a customer contact
center in Wichita, located at the former “Office This” space
at 4301 E. Harry. Starwood is one of the world’s largest
hotel companies, with 1,146 hotels and 171,000 employees
under ownership or management brands such as Sheraton,
Four Points by Sheraton, Westin and others. The company
selected Wichita because of its central location, the availability and cost of space, state and local incentives and the
quality of the work force. Jeff Englert and Patrick Ahern of
NAI Martens were involved in the deal.

Tractor Supply, a national chain that sells lawn, garden
and animal care products is expanding with a new store in
Augusta. The company already has stores on East and West
Kellogg in Wichita. The new store is set to open October 10
at the southwest corner of SW Diamond Road & East Kellogg. Jeff Englert & Nathan Farha of NAI Martens represented the seller. If you are interested in purchasing land near

Elite Sports Chiropractic is moving from Westlake Center
at 119th & Maple and are relocating within the Wichita Sluggers Academy near 13th & Ridge Road. The location will be
more convenient for patients coming from the east side.
Physician George Watson will be the first tenant to occupy
9,000 SF in a 20,000 SF building called the Healing Center
in a 70-acre mixed-use development at 53rd & Webb. This
is the first of three planned phases of the development. Later
phases of the Health Center include a surgical recovery center and a resort spa for people recovering from surgery.

Wichita State University will start construction on a new
$60 million residence hall, located in the parking lot south of
Cessna Stadium. The five-story residence hall will house 770
students and include a 400-seat dining hall. This project is expected to be completed by the start of the 2014 fall semester.
My Dentist is now open at 1443 N. Rock Road, near the intersection of 13th & Rock Road. About $2 million was spent on
the 7,000 SF space that was formerly Kwan Court Restaurant.
Norandex Building Materials Distribution Inc. will be the
first tenant to move into 27,000 SF at 2113 S. West Street, on
the west end of the 90,000 SF building in southwest Wichita
constructed under a city incentive policy.
Randy Cooper’s Fine Jewelry and College Hill Cleaners
are relocating within Bradley Fair shopping center. Randy
Cooper’s Fine Jewelry will move into the former Howard’s
Optique who are also relocating into 4,000 SF space within
Bradley Fair. College Hill Cleaners will be moving into 1,300
SF where Origins used to be located. Loft is coming to the
center and will be located between Talbots and Bella Luna
Café where Randy Cooper’s Fine Jewelry and College Hill
Cleaners vacated.
Riddle’s Jewelry has opened new locations in both Towne
East and Towne West Square. The Towne East location is
on the lower level near Von Maur and the Towne West store

St. Francis Community Services will occupy 31,000 SF
at the former Office This, located at 4031 E. Harry. They are
moving, June 1, from 4,000 SF on North Amidon.
Vue is a $20 million, class A apartment complex planned
for northwest Wichita. Construction will begin in July on the
184-unit apartment complex at 29th & Ridge. The complex
will have 80 one-bedroom, 96 two-bedroom and eight threebedroom apartments. With the Bennington Place complex
under construction at 21st & Maize, the Vue will be the second
apartment complex under construction in northwest Wichita.

Loony Bin is moving into 3,400 SF of a 13,000 SF building between First & Second streets on St. Francis from Oxford Square
at 21st & Woodlawn. The comedy club will seat about 150. Jeff
Englert & Nathan Farha of NAI Martens handled the deal.
McConnell Air Force Base, was selected as the main operating
base for replacing the KC-135 tanker aircraft with KC-46A tankers, meaning that the base will be home to new capital projects
worth millions of dollars. Currently McConnell AFB contributes
about $629 million to the local economy
NuWay, which currently has six locations, is looking to expand.
They are looking in Derby along K-15, in Northeast Wichita near
North Rock Road or North Greenwich and in Northwest Wichita
near Maize & 37th.
Andover is holding an outdoor concert to help determine if
citizens would like a permanent outdoor amphitheater. If the
free event is successful, then Andover will recommend moving
forward with the amphitheater.
All Things Barbecue is expanding in Delano. The original space
at 615 W. Douglas was 1,700 SF, then doubled in 2010. Their
new space will open in July with 4,500 SF for a showroom, 1,600
SF for a classroom and 2,200 SF for a patio, totaling 8,300 SF.
The law practice of Jennifer Stultz is moving to 100 E. Waterman. She recently outgrew the 1,000 SF office space at 131 N.

The Wichita branch of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society
is moving into 2,445 SF at 110 E. Waterman. For the past six
years the National MS Society has been operating out of space
at the Countryside Office Park at 9415 E. Harry.
Amtrak received an “unprecedented statement of regional support” for extending passenger rail service from Oklahoma City to
Wichita. The plans for Union Station tentatively call for a 3,000 SF
station for Amtrak. Union Station renovations are just one of many
