Wichita will be focusing on its Global Trade Network and
its ability to export goods and services with the assistance of
a national think tank. Wichita is one of eight cities in the Exchange, a program created by the Brookings Institution and
JPMorgan Chase. The program will help local institutions and
companies focus more intensely on global trade and economic
competitiveness. After the country fell into recession, Brookings studied how U.S. cities could recover in a slow-growing
economy. One path is to increase exports and focus on fastergrowing parts of the globe.
