Chongqing is a major city in Southwest China and one
of the five national central cities in the People's Republic
of China (PRC). Administratively, it is one of the PRC's four
direct-controlled municipalities (the other three are
Beijing, Shanghai and Tianjin), and the only such
municipality in inland China. It has a significant history
and culture and serves as the economic centre of the
upstream Yangtze basin. It is a major manufacturing
centre and transportation hub and in a July 2012 report
by the Economist Intelligence Unit, was named as one of
the 13 emerging megacities, or megalopolises, in China.
Chongqing, with beautiful mountains and rivers, is a
famous destination for tourists. It has numerous natural
scenic spots such as the Yangtze River Gorges, the Jialing,
Wujiang and Daning rivers, mountains such as Jinfo,
Simian and Jinyun, and lakes such as Changshou and

Welcome Banquet
Welcome Banquet is the most symbolic social event of this
year’s conference. It is our expectation that all the friends
present here get to know more including the aspects of
economic, science and technology, education, culture and
so on. Thus the dishes with ethnic and traditional
characteristics are prepared. And the show with typical
traditional culture is presented. The attendees from all over
the world could exchange ideas, share experiences with
each other, and propose valuable advice to look forward to
the future in such a relax, friendly and harmonious
environment. We believe that the smart materials industry
will present us a flourishing future.
