Training the youth on building peace for sustainable development
The long awaited conference finally came to
reality. The Uganda
Model United Nations
(UMUN 2012) was
scheduled to take place
from 9th –12th August
2012. It officially started that evening with
the arrival of participants from Kampala;
members from
UNAU’s University
and secondary schools.
At free zone hotel participants had the first address. The Secretary General Mr.
Baguma Tinkasimire Richard. Welcomed the team and introduced them and
open the training session; usually the first programme on where participants are
enlightened about what is expected of them.
Mr. Baguma introduced Mr. Mamadu Balde, a research graduate student from
Sussex University, UK. Mamadu is a UNA-UK members currently doing his internship taining T the the UNAU Secreatarit. He made a presentation about the
UN security council thus enlightening about the members about the origin and
ways of the security council, the main focus of UMUN 2012.
Following after that, was a delegate and officals training, conducted by Namukulwa Judith and Monica Akech participants were taught of the behaviors
and expectation of the conference.
Muwanguzi George (founder president UNAU) welcomed and thanked participants for the great spirit displayed towards UMUN and wished the team an educative function.

Hi friends, words can not express how i feel but
right from the time I got to the bus, excitement was
at its peak, i enjoyed the company of honourable
delegates, loved being at the IDP, and oh my transa

THE ORGANISING TEAM

guests appreciate is normally not appreciated. This is the organizing team. Whatever the function is from social to official
