Welcome
to
the
Young
Hoteliers
Summit Asia 2015
The Young Hoteliers Summit Asia team is looking forward to welcoming
you to the 2015 edition and thank you for the interest in this event. In this
booklet you will find the proposed selection process to support you in
determining the most suitable delegates to represent your institution.
School delegates
We would like to invite 2 – 4 student delegates from each school to
attend the summit. If interested, one faculty/staff member is also
welcomed to accompany the students.
Each delegation should therefore be composed of maximum 3 - 5
members.
Subscription
of
delegates
and

Once the delegation is selected, we ask you to send us the names and
e-mail addresses of the members who will be attending the summit by
e-mail. Additionally, the chosen delegates and the accompanying
faculty/staff are required to finish the Registration Form and send us
back by e-mail. Please find behind the registration form as attachment.
Please make sure to send us the e-mail with the required information by
28 September, 2015, latest. The same deadline also applies for their
registration form.
Selection criteria
To ensure a comparable level of knowledge among the delegates,
only students in their penultimate or final year of studies can be taken
into consideration for being a YHSA delegate. Furthermore, it is crucial
that both delegates are fluent in English.
While mentioning that academic level is important, it should not be
considered as the only selection criteria. Attitude, professionalism,
leadership skills, creativity and motivation should also be critical factors
in the selection process.
In order to provide a fair chance to the other students please note that
delegates who participated in previous editions of the Young Hoteliers
Summit Asia are not allowed to participate again in 2015.
Proposed selection process
To ensure the best outcome, we expect a relatively equal profile for all
participants. Therefore, we would encourage all schools to follow the
selection process proposed:

Further information
We would like to inform you of the fact that even though the event will
take place from Friday, 23 October until Sunday, 25 October , we
recommend the delegation to be present during the introduction
activities on Sunday afternoon and at the after party on Sunday
evening. Whilst these activities are not mandatory, they are highly
recommended as they offer a great opportunity for students to network
and exchange ideas.
We hope that we have given you clear guidelines with our suggested
delegates’ selection process. Shall this not be the case, or should you
be in need of any further information, please do not hesitate to send an
e-mail to:

Closer to the event, the delegates and the accompanying staff/faculty
will receive an information package with the schedule and important
details for delegates at a later stage. Should you require any
information at an earlier stage, please contact Angela in this regard as
well.
Meanwhile, we would like to invite you to like the Young Hoteliers
Summit Asia Facebook, LinkedIn, Weibo and Wechat pages, so you
can already have a foretaste of the summit, and we look forward to
welcoming you at Beijing Hospitality Institute in October 2015.
