CUEVA BAR is a recent addition to the selection of restaurants on Adams Avenue between
Alabama Street and Mississippi Street. Owners Joanna and Oz offer fresh baked empanadas,
pitas, flat breads, salads and desserts. They feature local Craft beer and wine from Spanish
speaking countries.
2123 Adams Avenue / 619.269.6612
PARK BLVD. WINE & PIZZA opened under new management on August 1, 2011. Prior to its renovation, the business was formally known as Pizza Gourmet Express. It is located immediately
below the University Heights sign, opposite Bourbon street. Come on in, try it out and let us
know what you think.
4615 Park Boulevard / 619.546.2300
MONICA’S AT THE PARK This cute coffeehouse has sandwiches and breakfast in addition to
specialty coffee drinks and desserts.
1735 Adams Avenue / 619.665.2162
BOURBON STREET BAR & GRILL This establishment has had a long history in the UH Business
Community and under the present ownership added the Lei Lounge, complementing the variety
of restaurants along Park Boulevard.
4612 Boulevard / 619.291.4043
SAVORY DELI AND MARKET Specializing in Regional Foods of Spain, France and Italy. Over ten
years ago, Julius & Michael moved to France and fell in love with the culture and foods. Their
passion for foods from Spain, France and Italy grew and they took time to learn recipes new to
them – but common in the place of origin. This compelled them to open up a small deli &
market serving foods & offering retail food products of these regions.
4661 Park Boulevard / 619.683.3772
ROSIE LEE’S ENGLISH FOODS opened last September. What a great British “food store”, as
owner, Lizzie Baird-Murray, wants to have it known. San Diego is apparently the 5th largest
population in the USA of ex-pats. You won’t find such a great assortment in one place and
some of her products are definitely exclusive – try the sausage rolled in puff pastry, Cornish
pasties, scones, Lemon Bonbons, Gob Stoppers, greeting cards and so much more.
4657 Park Boulevard / 619.501.8360
MUZITA ABYSSINIAN BISTRO We use locally grown produce to make dishes that are
reminiscent of the old country. Throw away the fork and use your hands, the traditional way!
This food and African hospitality is at its best. We look forward to sharing a meal with you!

SOLTAN BANOO Eclectic Persian Cuisine – Before Soltan Banoo
opened its doors, Mahin and her two daughters Roxanne and
Sanam ran Café Caspian across the street. Café Caspian, a tiny two
room tea room came about through the encouragement of the community for Mahin to express her creativity and cooking. So it went
that in 2003, the trio moved operations across the street and
named the restaurant after Mahin’s grandmother, Soltan Banoo
(King Lady). Today the three ladies work hard to create a warm
place for all to gather, see a little of Iran (or Persia as it was at the time of Soltan Banoo) in UH.

TWIGGS BAKERY & COFFEEHOUSE Twiggs has been in UH for over
15 years! Over time, we’ve become the informal community center
for our little corner of the world. We have a bakery/coffeehouse at 2804 Adams in addition to our
shop on Park. The bakery on Adams produces all the baked goods we sell at Twiggs in addition
to wedding & birthday cakes delivered throughout SD county! 4590 Park Blvd. / 619.296.0616
PARK BLVD. FOODS has been open for ten months under the new ownership of Alvin Habib.
They feature 23 homemade sandwiches with an emphasis on Middle Eastern foods. A look
around the store will tell you that there’s much to choose from. 4504 Park Blvd. / 619.295.1362
LESTAT’S ON PARK is more than just a coffee shop–free wifi & plenty of comfortable tables, in
addition to coffee, tea, soup, sandwiches & delicious pastries. 4496 Park Blvd. / 619.501.6638
GARDEN OF EDEN ORGANICS Garden of Eden is a community supported Agriculture program
for San Diego which delivers seasonal, fresh, certified-organic and chemical and pesticide-free
produce. Garden of Eden is different from a traditional, one-farm CSA. We are a co-op of 13
small farms, which for our members means variety. This is one of the most important distinctions of our program. Owners Paul and Jennifer Trejo are always looking for something new to
keep the program fresh and exciting.
Swedenborg Hall, 1531 Tyler Avenue / 760.994.5861
PIZZERIA BRUNO NAPOLETANO Family owned and operated Pizzeria Bruno Napoletano is
defined by its passionate dedication to making traditional Napoletana pizza ... a craft that
originated in Naples, Italy over 200 years ago. San Diego’s only restaurant specializing in
traditional Naples style wood fired pizza. Complimenting our menu is a unique selection of
moderately priced domestic and Italian wine and beer. All graciously served in a warm, friendly
and relaxing atmosphere.
4207 Park Boulevard / 619.260.1311
LOVING HUT Loving Hut was created with a vision that all beings could live in peace, love and
harmony with each other and the planet. Loving Hut chain restaurants are newly opening
around the world. It is an invitation to gourmet cuisine made with wholesome vegan ingredients, offering an accessible starting point for those making the noble transition to a plantbased diet.
1905 El Cajon Boulevard / 619.683 9490
ECLIPSE CHOCOLAT In the autumn of 2003, sculptor William Gustwiller began combining dark
chocolate with exotic herbs and spices. Months of experimentation coupled with an artist’s
intuition yielded the first two dozen unique truffle infusions. Today he chooses the finest
couveture chocolates, all-natural ingredients, and organic spices to create the unusual flavor
profiles featured in our exotic chocolate bars, caramels, and other chocolate confections.
2121 El Cajon Boulevard / 619.578.2984
PIZZERIA LUIGI Pizzeria Luigi hails from north of Milan, recently opened a second Luigi’s
on El Cajon Boulevard (the first one is in Golden Hill). He favors a thin style pizza with only
enough sauce to cover the crust and no more than three things on top of the pizza. Last year
he featured the recipe for a spinach-ricotta thin crust pizza in the Union-Tribune Food Section –
New York Style Pizza & much more!
2121 El Cajon Boulevard / 619.294.9417
FLAVORS OF EAST AFRICA We are a Kenyan inspired cuisine located in beautiful San Diego,
California. We have been serving our loyal customers at various Farmers’ Markets for several
years and are pleased to have opened a restaurant. We welcome everyone to visit us and enjoy
a delicious, authentic Kenyan meal.
2302 El Cajon Boulevard / 619.955.8778
APERTIVO All of us at Apertivo would like to invite you to visit our
restaurant for Wine and Italian Tapas. All our food is appetizer size
portions of Italian inspired dishes made from the freshest, highest
quality ingredients available. Nothing on the menu has more than 3-4
ingredients; we think the food should speak for itself. We try to evoke
the spirit of true Mediterranean cuisine, clean, fresh, and simple. We
look forward to having you for lunch , dinner or weekend brunch.
