17th Annual Salute to
Laudable Londoners
An evening of elegance and acknowledgment
Over $16,000 Raised!!
April 13, 2016 marked the 17th Annual
Salute to Laudable Londoners. The
London Hunt & Country Club welcomed
us once again to host over 120 guests
to recognize Murray Faulkner for his
contributions to the community.
Brown on behalf of the City of London,
as well as congratulations from Hon.
Deb Matthews (MPP) for all that
Murray has achieved and given to the
London community.
Murray’s dedication to the community
during his career as a Police Chief as
well as in his own time makes him a
prime example of a Laudable
Londoner. With years of involvement
with the Law Enforcement Torch Run
for Special Olympics, United Way,
YMCA of Western Ontario, St. Joseph’s
Health Care and Foundation Boards,
and many more volunteer initiatives,
he truly expresses the spirit of a
Laudable Londoner.
After welcoming the crowd, Bill read
aloud greetings from Mayor Matt
Tina Jamieson, Chair of Participation
House Foundation Board of Directors,
took the podium next to speak about
the positive impact that the
Foundation has on people’s lives, and
introduced Ricky Clark, a supported
individual at Participation House.
Ricky told his story through a short
video of his life as part of the
Participation House family, and was
proud to present Murray with the
2016 Laudable Londoner award.
Murray then stepped up to the podium
to give an extremely humbling speech,
thanking people for their
encouragement and friendships over
the years, and responded in kind to
the jests from the speakers earlier in
the night.
Guests arrived to the beautiful
musical stylings of brilliant pianist,
Bryan Gloyd.
Bill Brady, the original Laudable
Londoner and emcee, was sharp as
ever as he welcomed guests with his
signature insightful humor.
well-mannered jests toward Murray’s
always perfect hair.
Jeff Macoun and Nick Paparella, longtime friends of Murray’s, gave
inspiring and amusing speeches
about Murray’s passion for the
community, shared personal stories
and experiences with Murray
throughout the years, and joined in on
It was a relaxed and humorous
evening that highlighted the quality of
the very fiber that binds the London
community—this year illuminated by
the great deeds of Murray Faulkner.
The Participation House Foundation Board of Directors extend a heartfelt Thank You to the
following individuals and organizations, in helping us honour Murray Faulkner as
our 17th Laudable Londoner. Over $16,000 was raised to assist more than 300 adults and
children with severe physical, developmental or multiple disabilities reach their full
potential in the community. On their behalf, thank you very much.
