Jamie...Leaping into the Future
with Cheyenne Village
Jamie has a goal to go skydiving, and Cheyenne Village will be
with him every step of the way.
Jamie grew up in Security, Colorado with his mom, dad and
brother. After his high school graduation, Jamie lived at home
until age 37. That’s when he and his family came to Cheyenne
Village. Cheyenne Village has changed Jamie’s life by helping
him recognize one of his biggest dreams; to live independently.
Jamie, who is legally blind, has always dreamed of having his
own apartment and Cheyenne Village helped him achieve that
dream. He’s proud that he has developed the skills to care for his own home. He’s even planning to get a
puppy.

The support that Cheyenne Village staff provides to Jamie includes grocery shopping, medication
management, scheduling assistance, meal planning and preparation and house cleaning.
His personal goal for 2015 is to compete in a tandem skydive! He recently went to an indoor skydiving
facility in Denver to experience what skydiving feels like. He loved every minute and can’t wait to do the real
thing this summer.
Jamie inspires all of us at Cheyenne Village because he is fearless. He makes up his mind he wants to do
something and then he does it. He doesn’t let his disability prevent him from living his life to the fullest. He
embodies the Cheyenne Village mission, which is to help people with disabilities lead happy, healthy and
fullfilling lives.
PROGRAM SUCCESSES & GROWTHIR-MELLINI
During fiscal year 2014, Cheyenne Village Cheyenne Village began a realignment of program
services to provide the highest quality of service in the least restrictive environment and to utilize
employees in the most efficient manner. Other accomplishments included:
• A 7.5 % increase of enrollment from the year before,
• The Outreach program, serving individuals not receiving any services, served 172 individuals,
an increase from the 143 served in fiscal year 2013,
• Provided 8,201 hours of respite,
Cheyenne Village continues to explore new ways of doing business, so you can be assured that we
are utilizing your donated dollars in the most effective and efficient way.

On February 8, 2014, Cheyenne Village honored Lou Mellini, General
Manager of KILO 94.3 and 103.9 RXP radio stations and Laura
Muir-Mellini, President of Momentum Advertising and Public
Relations. More than 300 of Lou and Laura’s closest friends came
out to honor them and got a surprise when they found out that
Lou and Laura had recently gotten married! A mock wedding was
staged with past Roastee, Mary Ellen McNally as the “flower girl,”
while Chuck Murphy, Sr. and Jim Maguire (also past Roastees)
walked Laura down the aisle. Roasters included Jay Cimino, Virginia
Swanson, Ross Ford, Dot Lischick, Brent Green and Nick Lane. The
event raised $160,000.

Gods Club and Resort on October 4,
2013, for the 8th Annual Vineyard in
the Village. This was the first year that
the event was held at the Garden of
the Gods Club and Resort and guests
raved about the delicious food served
and all of the great wines donated by
The Wine Seller. The event grossed
more than $65,000.

Mission:
Cheyenne Village helps people with
disabilities lead happy, healthy and fulfilling
lives.
Philosophy:
Individuals with developmental disabilities
have value and contribute to the social and
economic environment of the community.

Cheyenne Village is dedicated to providing
assistance, training and support to all persons
