and you’re invited! We will celebrate another
successful year, elect our Board of Directors
and discuss what the future holds for Telco Plus
Credit Union.
Board Election: Ricky Vaughn and Sam Kidd will
be up for re-election, each for 3 year terms.
Reminder: You must be present prior to 7:00pm
to get your ticket to be eligible for the door
prizes. The hopper closes at 7:00pm.

the Credit Union and you both get a
$50 Gas Card !*
New share and checking account required. The new member must be eligible for membership
in the Credit Union. The member must receive a reoccurring direct deposit. The gas card will be
issued to the existing member and the new member once the first direct deposit has posted to
the members account, within 6 weeks of the account being opened, but no later than 3/31/13.
Other restrictions and requirements or qualifications may apply. A 1099 tax form will be issued to
all members who receive the $50 gas card. Your savings are federally insured up to $250,000 by
NCUSIF. Offer expires 2/15/13.
Meet the Board
Ricky Vaughn serves as the
Chairman of the Board of
Directors for Telco Plus. He has
held this position for 2 years and
is currently up for re-election.
He is a retired Southwestern
Bell employee of 30 years.
Ricky has served many positions
since becoming a credit union
member in 1981, and he says he
“Enjoys trying to improve the
credit union for the betterment
of the members.”
Sam Kidd is the Vice Chairman
of the Board of Directors for
Telco Plus. He was a Personnel
Manager at Carrier for 25
years. He worked as a Telco Plus
employee for 10 years and has
been a Director for Telco Plus
for 6 years. Sam is currently up
for re-election for this position.
He says, “The best part of my
45-year credit union experience
is teaching people to make wise
financial decisions.”
New Tyler Branch
On October 19, 2012, our Front St. location closed its doors and opened new ones at 7395 South Broadway in Tyler. Tyler is growing and
so are we. To keep up with the demand of superior service and technology it was imperative for us to open a new location.
Our new location is unlike any financial institution in East Texas. The branch offers updated technology for fast, accurate service. Our
teller pods allow for a personal, superior service experience with our Financial Service Representatives, instead of having a barrier
between you and the FSR. The open floor plan ensures that you have the ultimate experience.
We offer members a coin machine, as well as a computer for you to do your online banking. We have complementary coffee and water
available in our comfortable waiting area. We also offer self-service Safe Deposit Boxes, in-house television for news and a convenient

Tyler Branch ATM: Coming soon, the Tyler Branch ATM will accept

ATM Hold Policy Change: Funds from any deposit (cash or checks)
made at a Telco Plus Credit Union owned Automated Teller
Machine (ATM) by 2:30 pm on a business day will generally be
available on the 2nd business day following the date of deposit.
Generally, $200 of the deposit will be available on the next business
day. In some cases, we may delay availability of funds deposited.
Note: This hold change only affects the Tyler Branch ATM, since it is
the only ATM that will accept deposits at this time.

The True Cost of
Refund Anticipation Loans

Taxpayers pay on average 50% to 500% interest on Refund Anticipation Loans every year, and the average filing fee for taxes can be as
high as $229! Did you know that the IRS offers free tax assistance (VITA) to individuals that make less than $50,000/year and AARP also
has assistance for seniors 60 years or older? Over 70% of American qualifies for some sort of free assistance with dealing with their taxes.
Isn’t it worth waiting a week or two for your tax refund, if it saves you $100-$200?
One of the main reasons people choose to file electronically is so they get their tax refunds faster. Makes perfect sense, doesn’t it? The
IRS usually processes e-file tax returns in a day or two. Refund processing then is generally performed on a weekly schedule.
Let’s break the federal refund schedule down. Generally, if a return is accepted by the IRS before Friday, you will receive your refund by
direct deposit on the Friday of the following week. If you are expecting a “paper” check, it will be mailed on Friday two weeks from the
date your return is processed.
