Love is coming to Brooklyn. Am or De Dias
is made up of Alasdair MacLean and Lupe
Nunez-Fernandez, and the duo is gearing up
to go on tour in support of their latest release,
Street Of The Love Of The Day. Their music
is both chilling and fluffy, with some Spanish
guitars and a cellist to warm their way into
your heart. The duo will be making a stop at

Post-punk, power-punk, and more punk! Th e
Jour neys Backyard Barbeque Tour is celebrating
its seventh year, featuring the best punk bands
around. With artists like Sparks The Rescue and
New Found Glory, the concert also features the
best live artists who compete in a Battle of the
Bands competition. The winners are decided by
fans and receive a multitude of prizes. In between
sets, live BMX and skateboard demos are will take
place on what is described as an “alternative sports
playground.”
This year’s competition will feature local bands
including S o m e r s a u l t S un d ay, an electro poprock solo project, C a t c h T h e M o u s e , an
experimental rock group from Point Pleasant and
Like The Stars, an alternative rock band also from
Point Pleasant. To catch the greatest indie punk
bands in the area, along with some of pop-rock’s
most influential bands, be sure to check out
Wo o db r id g e Ce n te r ’s southeast parking lot on
Saturday, M ay 2 1. The event is completely free!

you’ve got that special taste, or if you’re looking to
expand your horizons, The Foot. is coming to The Trash
B a r in NYC on M ay 2 2. Taking sounds from ‘60s and
‘70s classic rock, seasoning with a little ‘90s alternative
and fusing them with bits of modern pop and R&B, the
band released their debut, Primary Colors, last year
and haven’t stopped touring since. Catch them with

Catalepsy’s latest release on Eulogy Records,
Bleed, is both brutal and catchy. The five-piece
Florida natives will be on tour for most of May
supporting the release. Catalepsy will be
performing at C h a m p i o n s h i p B a r in Trenton
on Tuesday, M a y 2 4. Doors are at 4 p.m. and
tickets are $10 in advance, $12 at door, the
show is all ages. So what better way to kickstart
your week than to go have a drink, loosen your

going on tour in support of their new album.

Their latest video for “Unstoppable” is humorous
and the song itself is powerful. The highly
energetic and entertaining six-piece released

acclaim. Their live performances have been

their punk/metal sound into a diamond in the

what G r u f f Rhy s has been doing for the past 15
years he has been on tour, which has inspired his
new solo album titled Hotel Shampoo. In support of
the album, Rhys will be going on tour and will be
making two stops in New York. Rhys will be stopping
at The K ni tti ng Fa c tor y on M ay 18, doors are at
8 p.m, tickets are $15. And then he will be playing at
The Mercur y Lounge on June 15, doors are at 7:30

The acoustic pop band S le epy Re be ls will
be playing a very special show at J o e ’s P ub
in NYC on M ay 18. The trio will be supporting
their latest album, Yellow Tree, which came out
on May 10. Consisting of siblings Bruce and
Erica Driscoll, along with Jeremy Adelman, the
band strings sweet melodies together with light
vocals while playing instruments such as
trumpets, violins and cellos. Tickets for the show
are $17 and the show starts at 7:30 p.m.
