WELCOME TO WOW a year ahead in a WayOut World
Hi my name is Vicky Lee and I am the editor of this magazine and The WayOut Publishing Co is my company from
which I promote magazines, books, videos and DVDs that all have a connection with the cross-dressing and transgender scene. I also publish a number of books and web sites that I have edited, and in this magazine I will introduce
these to you. I am also the co-founder of The WayOut Club where every Saturday I host possibly the best night
out in the whole world, for a diverse mix of girls, boys and inbetweenies, of every age, race, culture, sexuality and gender. In this magazine, with many thanks to Rick (the lensman) and Chrissie, I have fantastic pictures. These will show
you what has been happening at The WayOut Club over the last year. I also have the clubs diary for the year ahead to
introduce to you.
This last year has been a terrifying roller coaster ride for our ‘WayOut family’. For those already familiar with The
WayOut Club you will know it is a promotion founded by myself and Steffan Whitfield thirteen years ago. In July last
year we lost Steffan after his struggle with cancer. In truth his illness became evident in mid 2004 and he immediatly
started radio therapy treatment which left him too weak to come into the club. But at Christmas he was given the all
clear and he was feeling strong. Steffan and I sung together for what would be the very last time at our new year
party 2005. Only a week later the cancer returned and Steffan went into hospital where he was to pass away just a few weeks before his 40th birthday.

Throughout this time I have continued as ever (just as I promised him I
would). This has only been possible with the increasing help of talented and
amazing friends Sarah Lloyd, Paula Pure, Kit Kat, DJ Titch, Mario and Ambre
and my life partner, Miss Lelly. We are all committed to ensure that the club
will go on from strength to strength. Lelly is now with me most Saturdays
and we are both keen to meet you and make sure your visit to The WayOut
Club is the best experience it can be.
Miss Lelly and I have been together for over 30 years. Over the last 13 years,
while Steffan and I have built The WayOut Club, Lelly has built a very successful charity organisation that helps adults with learning difficulties make the
most of their lives and helps them to live in the community. Over these 13
years she has used her Saturdays to study. She completed an MA degree last
year. She is a wonderful, open hearted person, who has always supported me
and she was a good and supportive friend to Steffan.
Miss Lelly & Vicky Lee
Lelly contributed a chapter in my new book HEorSHE? and last year we were
featured together in an article for The Guardian Magazine (reproduced in ‘the
gallery’ www.thewayoutclub.com). We are proud to spread awareness of the transgender lifestyle and this year have
tentatvely applied to television program ‘Grand Designs’ to follow us through the project we are working on over the
next two years, building a barn style bungalow, next to her families home and business, to allow us to continue to provide respite to her disabled nephew and the rest of the family.
Yes, I am a bit of a tomboy, always ready for a bit of DIY, so you can imagine me this summer in our muddy field progressing our build project from my people-carrier while updating our web sites from my laptop and keeping in touch
with the WayOut entertainment teams, 4WS, Dance Divas and Sarah’s Spectacular shows.

I am not writing a book this year as my book HEorSHE? now covers all I can offer (for now!). HEorSHE? by Vicky Lee
is now my “flagship” book which I have poured my experience and my heart into. I hope you have a copy!
However I will be working with another great team who are building ‘The Tranny Guide’ on the internet.
Transgender AtoZ and wwwtransgender.com is an exciting project headed by Fraser (ex Dragmania now Fraser
Web Design). The new web site will allow YOU to join me, in my mission to spread awareness, of the scale of the
transgender community and the wealth of opportunities to enjoy through this life style. The new website duplicates
what I offer in my book Transgender AtoZ but it is interactive allowing you to add articles, reports (blogs), listings,
reviews and to promote your favourite, shops, services an places to go. We will be continuously adding to this site
over the next year.
I look forward to Sparkle in Manchester this year and will be
helping to present the main stage show on Saturday night, (of course
The WayOut Club will be open on that night, hosted by Lelly and
Sarah). I will be joined in Manchester by one of my writer friends
from the USA, Alice Novic (Alice in Genderland). We will be at
Sparkle from Thursday to Sunday and will be doing book signings and
Alice will be giving a talk on Saturday afternoon. This event is likely
to attract well over 1000 cross-dressers,TG, and DQ. The event will
take over Canal St and surrounding area offering pageant contests,
dance clubs, lunch and dinner parties, a TG film festival and main
stage entertainment. Full details are at www.sparkle.org.uk. I am
very proud of our community and thank Kim Angel, Bella Jay and
everyone involved for what they are doing. This is the largest and
most “out” event of its kind in the world. We really are breaking
ground.
Another Manchester based event that we support is Richard
O’Brien’s Tranfandango Ball. The 2006 event in March was another wonderful night that added to the funds raised for equipment for
Manchester Children’s Hospital cancer care. As we go to press I
don’t have details of the 2007 event, but as they evolve you will find
the details at www.transfandango.co.uk. I hope I will be able to join
you there.
I look forward to meeting you at one of these events or ANY
Saturday at The WayOut Club. Meanwhile I wish you a healthy and
happy year with luck in all you do.
Our Full 2006-2007 Diary is on page 10 of this magazine. The Diary is also available with ‘news flashes’
at WWW.THEWAYOUTCLUB.COM
There are hundreds of pictures taken at the club on our web site and we add more most weeks.

HEor SHE?
by Vicky Lee subtitled
?
“the view is better when you sit on the fence”
“Already nicknamed the tranny Encyclopedia - Every question answered”
Vicky what is in your new book?
“Each chapter is part auto biography with more detail than I have ever shared before PLUS each chapter
includes generous and candid contributions, of thoughts, experiences and pictures, from others from all over
the world to compare with my own.”
So it is a book of biographies?
“Well no it has much more. It has articles by me and others on a wide range of subjects that are often
discussed around the subject of gender but rarely answered. In this book I have gathered answers.”
What subjects are covered exactly?
“Male or Female - TV,TS or something Inbetween? TG What is it? Who does it? When do they start doing
it? Why do it? How long has this been going on? Is there a cure? The terminology? The politics?
Choosing a name? How to feminise the body? How to buy clothes? Make-up, hair and wigs? Relationships?
Networking? Support Groups? Dressing Services? The Law? Stepping out in public? Mixing and Mingling?
The minefield of TG sexuality? I have covered every possible angle in much more depth than ever before
and include as examples many, new and extensive Personal Profiles and Profiles of TG support organisations
and businesses. Everything is illustrated with amazing pictures, all in full colour
It sounds very comprehensive?
“It is - but I haven’t stopped there. I have also explored in this book what I call the ‘Creativity released through Transgender’, with pages of interviews
and examples of performing, fashion, music and photography. I have also included pages that I call ‘The World is your Oyster’, these pages of wonderful
pictures show the colourful kalidescope of worldwide cross-dressing and transgender opportunities.”
It sounds like you have poured everything and then some into this book?
“This book is now my flagship publication I have tried to answer every question, I have ever been asked, about the phenomena of transgender.
This is the book I always wanted to produce. This is the book that I NEEDED 35 years ago when I was a confused and lonely young transvestite.
The WayOut Transgender AtoZ
“The TG reference BIBLE for every handbag”
by Vicky Lee
Vicky I understand that Transgender AtoZ provides all the listings that the previous
Tranny Guide provided?
“It is actually more comprehensive - After finishing the last ‘Tranny Guide’ book I reviewed how the TG scene
has progressed and where my series of book was going. I talked to many people from the UK. I visited the
USA. I met other publishers and authors. I met owners of shops and services. I asked - What can I do to
improve on what I have done through the Tranny Guide over the last 12 years ? - I listened carefully and concluded that I must provide a more comprehensive reference book, for readers to find specific contacts.
‘Transgender AtoZ’ concentrates therefore on Events diaries and Listings from around the world.
Can we expect the usual Personal Reports, Pictures and Articles?
“Yes there are new Personal Reports, Personal Profiles, Business Profiles and Reviews with hundreds of amazing pictures. But because the book is bigger with more information in it the pictures are in black and white
So if this book is bigger than your previous books how much does it cost?
“The price is actually reduced to just £9.95 plus £2 delivery in the UK This publication, I hope, will fulfil the
requests for a comprehensive ‘reference guide’ with a traditional international listing format .... “
Is this book going to be updated each year?
“Not for the next two years - I am, instead, concentrating on loading and developing the new interactive
web site www.transgenderatoz.com with all the listings in the book. This new web site allows members
to browse, search and add listings, reports articles and profile without the restrictions of space that printing
imposes. In 2007 (if their is demand) I will snapshot the web site to create an updated printed book.”
“I hope you will buy HEorSHE? and Transgender AtoZ. I really hope those looking in from the outside, through these two books, will
better understand our fears and our joys and that these book will help other cross-dressers, transgendered people and those that
love us - love us all a little bit more. After all that’s what we all want - isn’t it ?”

NEW EDITION This book
is a newly revised collection

asked. Subjects include

The Lazy Crossdresser
VERY POPULAR (book)
Alice in Genderland
RECOMMENDED(book)
The jokey chapter titles like, “My
Size - a random number between 8
and 16”, undermines the quality of
the advice in this book with 177
pages of text and sketches. But
don't let me undermine the friendly, open and down right honesty of
the author Charles Anders. This is a
good read and is genuinely helpful.
Dr Richard Novic is a
Harvard educated psychiatrist and cross-dresser. No
such memoir has been published. With candid and
frank detail of the self
exploration through the
the “looking glass” of gender, sexuality and self
expression that led Dr
Richard to a lifestyle he had
not known existed
GINA The Woman Within
(book) This book relates the
Girl Talk (Magazines)
story of real life transsexual, Gina
Large’s traumatic and very reluctant
transgender journey. This book
gives a powerful insight into the
suffering of gender dysphoria. With
a successful but unhappy life behind
her at age 54 Gina suddenly
realised what was wrong with her
life. It’s a very moving and a truly
remarkable story and a wake-up
call to society.
EXTREMELY RARE From

the best photo shoots on
the cross-dressing scene ever.
This is a great magazine to

and it’s all good clean fun.
Crossing The Line (book)
OUR HISTORY CAPTURED
Photographer Sarah Davidmann
presents her record of images that
appear to exist somewhere
between the polarities of male and
female. Hard back book that
reflects the visions and characters
present on the London scene at
the beginning of the new
Millenium, including many who
frequented The WayOut Club.
The Transgender
Underground (book)
This book exposes the real lives,
opinions and sexual orientation of
over a dozen members of the ‘third
sex’. Multi media artist, German
born Claudia Andrei studied and frequented Ron Storme’s at Stepney
during his last year interviewing
many of the regulars. You may well
have met the people featured or
indeed be the people featured. A
wonderful snap shot of this period
in time.
The Third Sex (book)
HIGHLY SORT AFTER
The 'kathoey' phenomenon has been
part of Thai culture for generations,
it is the fascinating subject of Dr
Richard Totman’s book. Richard a
prize research fellow at Oxford
University's Nuffield and a widelytravelled theatre director became
probably the first “farang” (Thai for
Westerner) to infiltrate the mysterious world of the ladyboys. He lived
for months with kathoey girls and
their families, learnt the language
and spent much of his time talking to dozens of them and sharing their unique lifestyle.

Aldgate East tube station - from which you turn into Aldgate
and immediately left into Minories and then right into Crosswall
at the traffic lights.
Q - IS IT EASY TO PARK ? Very Easy - There is ample free
parking available on single yellow lines and parking bays very
close to the club. Parking on double yellows, or with your
wheels on the pavement or in a designated parking space may
still result in a fine even very late. This is a very safe and discreet area on Saturday nights.
Q - CAN I GET A TAXI EASILY WHEN I LEAVE ? Yes we have
a licensed cab dispatcher waiting at our reception who will normally have a car for you immediately (prices are average for late
night Saturdays but ask how much before getting in). We also
recommend private companies Express Cars ...0207 403 3333
Freedom Cabs ..0207 734 1313
Q - WHEN IS THE BEST TIME TO ARRIVE ? We open at 9pm
and up till 11pm we have a great deal to offer early birds - FREE
welcome cocktail or soft drink and reduced entry for all that
cross-dress - All drinks are reduced to city bar prices until
10.30pm - The party builds up from 10.30pm to 1am and goes
on till 4am with show time at 1.00am for 30minutes
Q - WHERE CAN I CHANGE ?...and get help with make-up?
At The WayOut Club - We offer 800sq ft of FREE changing
space with mirrors and lights from 9pm - 12.30am and 2am am nearby toilets have washing facilities. We offer secure storage of bags this is FREE if changing. You may like to take advantage of help with make-up by one of 'the wayout girls' to boost
your confidence £25.00 please check availability by ringing Vicky
Lee 07778 157 290 There are a number of good dressing services nearby that regularly help prepare and escort visitors to the
club. Adam & Eve close by (near Brick Lane) offer support,
wardrobe, make-up pre visit drinks and nibbles and escorting tel
0207 729 7447. Jodi at The Boudoir offers support, wardrobe,
make-up and escorting tel 0208 365 7755. Pandora at Image
Works offers support, wardrobe, escorting and also accommodation tel 0207 684 0340. Ann's Dressing Service offers makeup preparation at the Philbeach Hotel tel 0207 373 4848
Q - DO YOU SERVE FOOD ? At the WayOut Club tasty food is
served all night long. Pizzas are a speciality made freshly just for
you, with a wide range of toppings. Burgers (meat or veggy)
Curries & Pastas or light snacks ... French-fries, Nachos, Potato
wedges, Onion rings, Potato skins, Chicken dippers and Scampi.
Q - I HAVE NEVER BEEN OUT OF THE HOUSE "DRESSED"
SO WHAT SHOULD I WEAR ON MY FIRST VISIT TO THE
WAYOUT CLUB? You can wear ANYTHING at The WayOut
Club. With over 200 people every week there will always be
someone dressed that looks better (and worse) than you do. I
do recommend a visit in DRAB (Dressed as a Boy) before your
debut in DRAG (Dressed as a Girlie).Though I do understand it
may be easier in your girlie "disguise".There are always guys in
'man drag' and we like it that way. Some are trannies who don't
dress in public. Some are guys who are with trannies (or want
to be). Others, men and women, just love the atmosphere. But if
you want to dress on your first time there is no place better or
safer place to take your first steps. IF I WAS going to recommend a style to make you feel comfortable on your first visit I
would say - Good hair / wig and a black dress (long, short or
knee length) with some nice accessories. When you see what
others wear you will be inspired to follow your feelings on your
next visit - be that flamboyant, tarty, glamourous, clubby or even
MORE sophisticated. That's what it's all about.
Q - WHERE CAN I FIND FRIENDLY ACCOMMODATION ?
The following are ALL a short walk from the club and are regularly used by visitors and have the advantage of ample free
street parking after 1.30pm Sat through Sun. Ask for special
weekend rates at aprox £75 per room if the hotel is not too
busy. The Chamberlain Hotel (just around the corner from
WayOut) . 0207 6801500 Novotel Hotel (Again just around
the corner) 0207 265 6000 The Tower Thistle Hotel 0207
481 2575 (5mins from the club and overlooking Tower Bridge)
Inexpensive hotels are abundant on the route to City Airport
advertising £59 to £69 weekend rate. Try - Express by
Holiday Inn The Highway (nr The Lime house link Tunnel) 0207
7540 0800 434040 www.hiexpress.co.uk advertising The
Travel Lodge Corriander Ave, (off East India Dock Road) near
Canary Wharf 0207 531 9705. Local taxi service from these
hotels to WayOut is aprox £10 to £14
HOWEVER these hotels may not encourage "dressing"
for breakfast! The Philbeach Hotel, Philbeach Gardens
in Earls Court 0207 373 1244 (is the very most tranny
friendly hotel where you will feel welcome dressed in
the bar, lounge and restaurant where the waitresses are
thai lady boys) The Beaver Hotel 0207 373 4553 also in
Philbeach Gardens, Earls Court offers parking

he WayOut Club Club for Boys, Girls and Inbetweenies.
was founded in 1993 by Vicky Lee (a self proclaimed inbetweeny) and Steffan Whitfield (a very open hearted, gay,
female impersonator and entertainer) to provide a "way out" for
those that didn’t feel they quite fit in elsewhere, especially those
that cross-dressed (for whatever reason) and those that were very
"in touch with their feminine side" as well as those that like to mix
with them.
Together we celebrate the joy in our diversity.
The Transgender scene has matured over the last 13 years and now
offers many more opportunities. Yet still The WayOut Club offers
something very special and VERY unique and that is our joy in diversity. This is impossible to dispute - as on ANY Saturday you can find
every age, race, colour, culture, sexuality and most importantly
every GENDER including London's (and the worlds) most stunning
Trannies (TV/TS/TG),TGirls, She-Males, Drag Queens, along with
male and female admirers, friends.
The WayOut Club brings together the most diverse collection
of people in one place, every Saturday, anywhere in the world.
There is only one restriction on entry and that is that you enter
with an open mind. Once in the club there are no judgments. At
WayOut whether dressed by top designers or Oxfam everyone
wants to be your friend. The club has a busy dance floor but many
come not to dance but to chat. Some have hardly missed any of
the 650 nights that the club has offered.
EVERY Saturday since April 1993
The WayOut Club remains an enigma. Not quite part of the
London’s gay scene, Not quite part of the straight scene, Not
quite part of the fetish scene and strangely enough, (in some eyes)
Not quite part of the Transgender scene. So what is it?
The most Eclectic Club in the World.
Our super venue, is in a discreet location, with easy parking and
taxis waiting at the door. We have a lift and wheelchair access.
There is a separate changing area. The venue is air conditioned.
The single basement level has two areas, a full on dance and cabaret
room, plus a quieter room with plenty of seating including sofas. In
the main room WayOut's DJs mix music to suit the mood of the
night, which can vary between pop classics and remixes, cheese, r&b
and camp to the latest euphoric dance music. We encourage gorgeous 'girls' (and boys) to get up and strut their stuff on the
WayOut dance podiums.
E
very week at The WayOut Club we put on a show or special
event taking an "intermission" from dancing at 1am for 30minutes.. Each of these shows is a "one off" and the scale and the
effort that goes into casting, soundtracks, costume, scenery, props
and choreography is a miracle achieved only by the inspiration of
Steffan Whitfield and our love for performing and the commitment
to giving The WayOut Club audience something that is fun, special
and unique to make each visit memorable.
Outstanding creative support
I would like to take this opportunity to thank some outstanding
creative support from Miss Sarah Lloyd, Miss Paula Pure, DJ Titch,
Miss Kit Kat, Mario, Ambre and DJ Gary to name just a few.
Only at The WayOut Club
Few London venues offer such outstanding entertainment. For my
part the effort and the expense that we make each week brings a
"focus" to a visit to The WayOut Club and make the night special
and "memorable". This level of entertainment is only achievable due
to the love and “need”, to create and perform, that is a major part
of all of our lives. You can expect to enjoy some outstanding shows
throughout 2006 into 2007.
Launch pad for many new performers
The WayOut Club has been the launch pad for many new performers. Our new diary designates the first Saturday of every month as
STAR SEARCH & GUEST. A night when (in addition to a surprise
guest - check web site for announcements) YOU can "take to the
stage". Whether you sing, mime, juggle, or have a great costume and
a sexy wiggle, you can win up to £100 by encouraging a rapturous
applause from The WayOut Club audience (so bring your friends).
To enter Star Search (or any of our contests) just bring your backing music and register with Vicky Lee, or Sarah Lloyd before midnight on the night and be ready in our dressing room with your
backing track by 12.30.The contest and show start at 1am. Many of
our winners come back to perform extended sets and join the
wealth of talent that is “WayOut” in our bigger shows.
The WayOut Club
A EUPHORIC HEADY MIX ...
A few visitors may be confused by the
heady mix at The WayOut Club.
Remember every one has made a
“first visit” and everyone wants to chat.
You will always see someone better
dressed (and worse dressed) than YOU.
At WayOut it is not a competition.
What is important is just “being there”.
Some visitors may appear to say or do
inappropriate things - but be assured,
rude behaviour is NEVER acceptable at
WayOut and is best reported, immediately, to the clubs hosts, security or management . Blatant sexual-acts, drugs, and
exposed genitals are also not allowed.
Those that ignore these few simple rules
and common decency, will be expelled
and may be banned from returning.

AND NOW WayOut Publishing IS LAUNCHING
www.transgenderatoz.com
Through my ‘Tranny Guide’ books, over 12 years, I have provided awareness of the growing scale of cross-dressing around the world and a
practical guide to events, shops and places to go. Many have used my book while travelling the globe and refer to it as "The Transgender Bible".
However in a printed book there is only so much space and especially when produced in colour, is expensive to print. Last year I launched a
new style and new title guide book ‘WayOut’s Transgender AtoZ’ and this year I am launching this interactive internet version of my book.
Interactive Internet Version of ‘WayOut’s Transgender AtoZ.com’
Vicky Lee’s ‘Tranny Guide’ is now on line for you to interact with at your leisure
FREE access will be available to Events Diaries and like the printed book we will publish YOUR Personal Profiles, Service Profiles, Articles and Worldwide
Reports of events, in your area, or an area you visit. Like the printed book we welcome you to send your pictures and text to create a wealth of awareness
and a celebration of our similarities and our differences. Let ‘WayOut’s Transgender AtoZ’ provide the shop window for YOUR view of the Transgender world.
HERE IS THE EXCITING PART
For a small subscription charge, this new site will enable you to Browse and Search all the entries in the printed book AND MORE IMPORTANTLY to
interactively ADD listings for all your own favourite events, shops, services and places to go. You will also be able to Submit Reviews for the listings you use.
You will be able to add new categories and new listings for anything that you think will be of interest to the sites visitors. So whether it is … a regular event, a
friendly clothes or shoe shop, a tranny poet or titillating tgirl - web site or walk in service - that you want to list - you can add it to the site. You can even
upload up to 3 pictures for each of your entries and of course link these listings to other web sites. For those without their own web sites we even offer to
upgrade your listing to a mini web page, with your choice of template and extra text and pictures space. Of course we are working hard to market our sites
so you WILL be sure that Transgender AtoZ.com and it’s content can be found easily through the search engines.
I hope YOU will help me to continue the work I started back in 1992 when I was struggling to find out about the trans scene that back then did not even have
a name. I WAS that lonely transvestite and I thought I was the only one in the world. Now through ‘WayOut’s Transgender AtoZ’ and the internet we can
share our experiences an no one need be lonely..
Please note: All entries and edits to this site are moderated and approved by WayOut Publishing. No rudeness, bitchiness or overt exaggeration is allowed. If you recommend a service that service will be notified and encouraged to participate by keeping their listing up to date. We will be adding new listings ourselves continuously throughout the coming years.

ALTERNATIVE MISS LONDON 2005
Forever Dedicated to the Memory of
Steffan Whitfield and Ron Storme
ayOut Club co-founder
Steffan’s first experience of
drag, was entering ‘Night of a
thousand Frocks’ in 1986 at The
Hippodrome Leicester Square. One of
the judges at this event was Ron Storme
(This event was staged by Dennis Gilding
who also ran all the famous Porchester
Balls assisted by Ron Storme).
The experience of winning this event so
totally changed Steffan’s life that he
longed to re-create it for others to experience. In 1993 Steffan and Vicky Lee
were running ‘Bolts’ at the Hippodrome
Leicester Square and had a free hand to
arrange what ever entertainment they
could dream up. Judges and contestants were recruited for the first
of ‘Steffan Whitfield’s Alternative Miss London’. Judges included
George Melly (raconteur and jazz singer) and Andrew Logan (artist
and originator of Alternative Miss World). When Ron Storme died
just weeks before the contest Steffan said that Alternative Miss
London must be dedicated to the memory of Ron, the groundbreaker, who helped create Steffan’s first ‘drag’ break. Little did Steffan
know then, that just five years later he would also be taken away from
us by cancer in July 2005. The Alternative Miss London contest will
ALLWAYS be dedicated to Steffan and Ron BOTH groundbreakers
who gave us ALL our first ‘drag’ break
Steffan said in a 1986 interview at the 'Night of 1000 Frocks'
"I got such an overwhelming reception when I went on stage and it was at this
moment that I knew what I wanted to do." … A great fan of New York style
"female impersonation", Steffan followed up the success in the contest by wowing London for two years with his 'Marilyn's Hollywood Revue'. Maddona was
his next inspiration and Fraser Renton and Miss Karla joined him for 'The ManDonna Show'.Vicky Lee was his next recruit and as 'Dragmania' the foursome
toured together successfully for three years developing a unique style of show.
Throughout this time Steffan fronted night-clubs for various promoters. During
1993 Steffan was asked not only to front but to run Sunday night 'Bolts at The
Hippodrome'.To achieve this he asked Vicky Lee to join him and it was here
that a symbiotic union of was formed and was spotted by venue manager Lee
Whitby who offered them regular use of her venue in Goodge Street where
Steffan and Vicky started together 'The WayOut Club' for "boys, girls and inbetweenies".
At the beginning of 1995 Steffan with Miss Karla and Fraser Renton became
'Total Re-Call' refining and perfecting the Dragmania formula, taking it nationwide, doing residencies at 'Funny Girls', and overseas in venues in Ibiza and
Geneva. In 1998 Steffan spotted the rise of 'The Spice Girls' and was soon in
their footsteps with the 'The WayOut Spice Girls'.The 'girls' with Steffan as
'Geri' appeared at some of the biggest venues in the UK including; 'The
Dorchester Hall', 'The Grosvener House Hotel' and 'The Royal Albert Hall'.
Steffan and the 'girls' even collected awards for the real 'Spice Girls' and
cameoed in 'Spiceworld' the movie and in this one year appeared on over 30
different television shows returning four times to Richard and Judy's This
Morning show - On one appearance Richard Madely said to Steffan and the
'girls' "We have a picture of you all - at home on our fridge".When Geri Haliwell
appeared at G.A.Y she reunited with the Spice Girls - The WayOut Spice Girls
and Steffan, in the famous Union Jack dress, proudly carried her across the
stage.
Steffan loved The WayOut Club and enjoyed 12 non stop years of this promotion using it as a base for his creativity, and the opportunity, to develop other
performers, and to springboard other projects like; 'The WayOut Spice Girls',
'Technoglam', 'Exotica', 'Cabaret Extravaganza' and 'House of Drag'.
Steffan would always say that ...
"At The WayOut Club age, race, sexuality, gender have NO boundary
and … neither does LOVE"
But this was also his life's belief - his creed It went far beyond the doors of the
club. Steffan lived this creed through his choice of friends and lovers.
He touched many lives, enriching them with his love for diversity. The level at
which he gave un-conditional love has been an inspiration to us all. He challenges us to carry forward this message, and live it in our lives. In interviews
just before his death Steffan said;
"If I manage to educate one person in my life - about living outside of the
box that society tries to put us in - then I will have done some good."
I think you will ALL agree that in this desire he has more than succeeded.
Steffan died at 10pm 29th Aug 2005 His peaceful release came after a
brave, painful, year long fight with the Cancer - Multiple Myeloma.
Steffan passed out of this world surrounded by and embraced by his
loving family and friends. Please visit the tribute web site at
www.thewayoutclub.com
Ron Storme died 3rd October 2000 his memory is championed by Mr
Peter White and a tribute web site at www.ronstormes.com
