show. Club members stayed a couple hours and left a
little after 2pm to cruise down to the very large
monthly Kannapolis cruise-in where we connected up
with several other Club members.
I think we all had a very enjoyable day and the
weather was just great. During the Kannapolis
cruise-in we had a short Club meeting to take care of
some much needed items. More information on this
meeting is located elsewhere in this newsletter.
Below are some pictures taken during both cruise-ins
(Tilley Harley Davidson cruise first followed by
pictures at the Kannapolis cruise).

A Note From The President
On August 8th some Carolina Plymouth Club
members cruised to a cruise before cruising to
another cruise. I tell you there was a lot of cruising
going on and some nice Plymouths were out doing
what they do best. At around noon on the 8th several
Club members gathered at Tilley Harley Davidson
for an informal old car cruise-in and motorcycle

Don’t forget to clean up the old cars and bring them
out for a summer cruise. I hope to see you all on
September 26th and 27th at the AutoFair.. Till we
meet again, remember to keep those old Plymouths
running and on the road, and God Bless you all.

Mike Bucket is back again this month with another
installment of ‘Recollections of a RAMCHARGER’.
Thanks Mike for all these great stories that keeps us
all well informed of the early days of the MOPAR
racing. We only have a few of these articles left so
I’m hoping some of our members will be able to
submit articles on their favorite Plymouth (or Dodge,
or Chrysler, or Desoto) in the future.
Our next outing and club meeting will be September
26th and 27th at the Charlotte Motor Speedway for the
fall AutoFair. At this time only about half of the
tickets have been spoken for. If we want to continue
to receive tickets we need to fill up all our 20 spaces
so get the AF form to me ASAP. We also need to be
there by 8am and try to stay as long as possible (4pm
or later). As always keep your fingers crossed for
good weather for both days.

Toys & Stuff
This past month was my birthday; yes, I’m
another year older than dirt. For my birthday
my Son, that tells me I’m the hardest person
to buy for, gave me a model of a 1958
Plymouth Fury. It is part of the American
Classics by Motor Max. It’s 1:18 scale and
made for someone 8+ (I’m not sure if I’m old
enough). As we all know (I’m sure) the 1958
Fury only came in one color and it wasn’t red
but buckskin beige. The movie ‘Christine’
made famous the ’58 Plymouth and Christine
was red. The ’58 Plymouth is my favorite car,
mainly because it was my first car and I think
the car’s lines is just beautiful. I’ve had
several ‘58’s but I no longer have one (wish I
did). Below is a picture of my first car, a
1958 Plymouth Belvedere. This picture was
taken around 1962 or 1963 and yes, I had it
painted red (before Christine made it
famous).
If you have any toys or unusual stuff just
send me a picture and a few lines on what it is
and I will try to get it in our newsletter.
