You may notice more pictures in this edition of the newspaper. The kids are learning how
to insert pictures into their stories. Some have
learned to place them properly, but some are still
working on that part. They are also learning to
use “Word Art” for their title. I am please with
the progress they make each week in either writing or computer use.

playground set. Hunter Kivlehan writes about the
choices we have and how a vote would work if we
vote on a set (We probably won‟t.) His choice of
words is interesting !
Next month we are working on writing
articles from a new perspective. We‟ll see how it
goes !!

Have you heard about the new movie The Tail of Desperaux! We read The Tail of Desperaux in 3rd grade.
Desperaux is a mouse who loves the princess but gets sent
away to the dungeon. That’s where the rats are!
Now let’s talk about princess Pea. She has a father (the
king) and a mother (the Queen) who dies later (because
a rat is in her soup). In another part of the kingdom is a
girl named Migery Sow whose mother died and a father
who sold Mig for a pack of cigarettes, a red table cloth,
and a hen! Could you imagine that?
I’ll tell you about the rats! They are going to eat Desperaux! One of the rats torture the prisoners with a locket

This week my class is going on a field trip!
It is Disney on ice in Chicago at the
United Center! It was hosted By Mickey
Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Donald Duck and
Goofy! I am only going to tell you my favorite acts. They were Cars @ loin king.
My weekend by Hannah Purlee.
Over the weekend I went to my grandma's
house it was fun. On Saturday it was 60 degrees outside so Dana and I went on a bike
ride with Brad. I had fun except when I ran
out of breath. I won the race!

and go seek with us. And last night the Steelers
and Cardinals played and the Steelers won ! My

Did you watch super bowl 43? I
watched it at Fox Valley Older Adults.
Most of the kids played in the kid‟s
room. Then we watched the super bowl.
The Steelers were wining at first. Then
the exciting part happened the Arizona
Cardinals came back and were winning. It
was not over yet. Then Steelers got a
touch down and won super bowl 43! It
was so exciting!

Did you see the Superbowl43 last night? I did, it was
“super”! Too bad the Cardinals lost, my mom screamed
when she heard that the STEELERS WON! I hate the
Steelers, they beat my 2nd team! My 1st team is the:
GREEN BAY PACKERS!!!! They were in a
Super bowl 2-3 years ago, they were against the Bears
and lost. I hope their happy!!

Have you ever gone to a cougar‟s game? Twelve kids in 3-b
are going. We have to read the book Caddie Woodlawn. You
have to read chapters to get to first, second, and third
bases to get a homerun. Then you will have to take a quiz on
the book to get a homerun. If you pass with seven or more
question right you get to go to the Cougars Game! I have
gone to the game before it is really fun. It is awesome at
the game you get a free drink and hot dog. Then
you get a free shirt and people sign it. At the
end of the game you get to run around the
bases. It‟s a ton of fun!

do, it‟s when people use different choices
against each other. Woodbury is doing a
schoolyard vote! We are going to see what
