It was launched in 2007 as a blog founded by Magali Boisseau Becerril who adores foreign cultures and decided to share it with hundreds of her friends whose places she stayed at for free (over sixty countries). Inspired, she suggested that they should host travellers from around the world in exchange of a few euros to help them to supplement their income. HOW DOES IT WORK? The site’s concept is to travel or host people, it allows you to bring together conviviality and income supplement and it can be a good idea to save money. The services of searching for, signing up, editing profiles or sending messages are entirely free for the network’s members. BedyCasa has opted to take a 15% commission per transaction once the host has accepted the booking. The prices displayed are the final prices. There is an extra charge of 2,50€ per booking paid by the traveler which covers the fee for the customer service which is available 7 days a week and accessible locally in France, Italy and soon in Spain. ADVANTAGES FOR TRAVELERS: BedyCasa is a real anti-crisis solution, at an average price of 25€/night, offering travellers a large choice of homestay accommodation for work, studies or simply for a holiday. In a very simple and secure way, travellers can book accommodation on BedyCasa in a few clicks and choose a host from the certified hosts of the network. Travellers can thus discover a city, region or even an entire country through the eyes of its inhabitants and get some personalised advice in order to make their stay even more unforgettable. ADVANTAGES FOR HOSTS: On the other side of things, hosts can state their size of accommodation they have available to travellers from all four corners of the world and as such for culturally enriching relationships whilst increasing their income at the same time! 6 Bedycasa 2013 90 000 26 000 34 000 210 000 6 200 26 000 4 152 056 24 301 376 600 000 nights members visits bookings cities viewed pages beds hosts messsages sent 6
