“Giants Ridge” means giant fun
and “Biwabik” means winter!
Weihnachtsfest – Biwabik’s Winter Lighting Festival, held the first
Saturday in December, has been part of the town’s holiday tradition
for years. Activities include a children’s musical presented by area
youth, crafts, Weihnachtsfest Candy Haus where boxes of
homemade sweets are for sale, horse-drawn carriage rides
through town, an ethnic lunch and bake sale.
In the evening, people gather to the park gazebo to sing carols and
watch as the switch is flipped and the entire park is instantly set
aglow with sparkling white lights. Afterwards,
fireworks illuminate the sky.
