A Tribute to Lou Mondello There is a man called Mondello; A silly Victorian fellow; He works hard all day; for a little pay; they call him the Guru this fellow. He quit high school and moved away; Found some work and decided to stay; Soon he carved out a niche; Without a chance to get rich; Fixing Dattos so others could play. He teamed up with some blokes from VIC; Who’s cars up till then ran sick; They created some bits; With their brains and their wits; That were fast, not just a quick fix. He came up to the Bay as a jest; That many will say was the best; That has ever been done; Is this Datto Nats run; And they still make us laugh when we're stressed. Lou Mondello shows wonder and glee; When we saw him changing each sparkee; With his deviant mind; He is one of a kind; Such a jolly good fellow is he. Drivers Briefings were conducted by Barry Courtney and John Dagwell The Traditional Sunday Long Run We came to the Nats from afar To have lots of fun with our cars The weather turned chilly This caused shrunken willies But our ladies did straighten our bars.
