OK – maybe not!!
What is Michael looking for ?
Discussion abounds about what;
Are the joys of an open top.
Some can see only risk;
When the temperature's brisk;
And your hair blows around quite
a lot.
(Hilary Thiele)

Friday evening…
..followed by a barbecue
cooked by Claude Movia and

My lady is fair, my lady is fast;

She’s taken us places to meet new faces;
So here’s to our Datsuns!;
Let’s make them last.

shall we try
Rock, Paper

Alastair Sutton-Davies, Syd Carr,
and Jonathan Chambers
Dat Fairlady has plenty of go;
She has torque, she has style, she
has flow;
Give her head just a shave;
Her conrod shaft will behave;
So bang on for the sweet spot we
know.
(Stephen Delbridge)
Alan and Marie Cherry collected guesses for the number
of Glass Beads in the Jar – won by Amelia Razon
During the Saturday afternoon free time, a NSW/ACT group visited the
Eurobodalla Botanic Gardens
Others
stayed
around the
motel with
their
ladies….
….Michael was still
looking!
A Tribute to Lou Mondello
There is a man called Mondello;
A silly Victorian fellow;
He works hard all day;
for a little pay;
they call him the Guru this fellow.
He quit high school and moved away;
Found some work and decided to stay;
Soon he carved out a niche;
Without a chance to get rich;
Fixing Dattos so others could play.
He teamed up with some blokes from VIC;
Who’s cars up till then ran sick;
They created some bits;
With their brains and their wits;
That were fast, not just a quick fix.
He came up to the Bay as a jest;
That many will say was the best;
That has ever been done;
Is this Datto Nats run;
And they still make us laugh when we're
stressed.
Lou Mondello shows wonder and glee;
When we saw him changing each sparkee;
With his deviant mind;
He is one of a kind;
Such a jolly good fellow is he.
(Ken Moore – winner of limerick comp)
On Saturday evening we
frequented the local Thai and
tested our brains !
Drivers Briefings
were conducted
by Barry Courtney
and John
Dagwell
The Traditional Sunday Long Run
We came to the Nats from afar
To have lots of fun with our cars
The weather turned chilly
This caused shrunken willies
But our ladies did straighten our bars.
(Syd Carr)
Some drivers took the side trip to Potato Point and spotted some seals!
Down a highway with views quite aquatic
In a line that is never chaotic
Comes a guttural grumble
A rev and a rumble Of Datsuns unique and exotic
(Hilary Thiele)
Sunday Lunch at the Bermagui Beach Hotel
You are not
getting your
mitts on this
The black car lies crumpled and
sore;
Smashed bonnet, broken lights and
bent door;
But Robyn has guts;
No defeat and no buts;
We’ll see it cruise at the Nationals
once more.
(Norm Collings and Liz Dean)
Should I tell
them I have
the handbrake on ?
