Opening Dates and Times
Grade 9 students will report to the school’s atrium in uniform on Tuesday, August 22, at 9 a.m. All other
students new to the Trinity family will report to school in uniform at 9:30 a.m. They will receive their
class schedules at that time. Dismissal will occur at approximately 11:30 a.m.
All students will report at 7:55 a.m. in uniform on Wednesday, August 23. Dismissal will occur at
2 p.m. Students in Grades 10-12 will receive their course schedules on the first day. Schedules will not
be available any earlier.
NEW PARENT ORIENTATION
Parents new to the Trinity community must attend an orientation meeting on Tuesday, August 22, at
7 p.m. in the Trinity gymnasium. Students are welcome to accompany their parents. This orientation will
focus on school policies, curriculum, and opportunities for parent involvement. There will also be ample
opportunity for questions.
LOCKS AND STUDENT LOCKERS
Student lockers have built-in combination locks, which means that students do not need to purchase
locks for them. Freshmen will need locks, however, for their gym lockers when taking physical education.
These locks also do not need to be purchased from the school.
TEXTBOOKS AND OTHER SCHOOL SUPPLIES
Textbooks for classes other than theology are provided without charge by the State of Ohio. Theology
books and workbooks for classes such as science and foreign language will be sold through the Atrium
Sport Shop. Teachers will provide information on costs during the first week. During the first few days of
class, teachers will also inform students of any specific supplies they will need.
BUS TRANSPORTATION SERVICES
Transportation by the Trinity school bus will begin on Wednesday afternoon, August 23. Students riding
the Trinity bus need to provide their own transportation to school that morning. Students will meet with
the bus driver during the school day on August 23 for details about pickup points and pickup times.
Freshmen will meet with the bus driver at Freshman Orientation.
Students riding public school buses should call their school district’s transportation department to confirm
the availability of service for 2006-2007.

TRINITY PARENTS: KEEP IN TOUCH
Mark your calendars! On Wednesday, September 6, join other Trinity parents to kick off the new school
year. We’ll hear thoughts about Trinity and the upcoming school year from the new leadership team:
Principal Ms. Carla Fritsch and Assistant Principals Mr. Bill Svoboda and Ms. Lynn Bacho.
Parents are a vital part of the Trinity family. We gather on the first Wednesday of most months to connect
with each other and stay in touch with the community where our children spend so much of their time.
If you’d like to help plan the agenda for the year, contact Gary Szelagowski at 440.843.4822 or Nancy
Papa at 330.908.1039.

HEALTH INFORMATION REQUIRED
Attention Parents of all Trinity students: Please let the school nurse know if there are any medical
conditions that affect your child. It is very important to keep all health information up-to-date so we can
provide your child with proper care during school hours. This information should be submitted in writing
to the school nurse before the first day of school.
Special forms must be completed by you and your doctor before any medication is allowed to be
dispensed to your child during school hours. These forms can be obtained by contacting the school nurse
at 216.581.1644, ext. 127, visiting the business office, or logging on to www.ths.org/health.
All incoming freshmen and all students new to Trinity must have a complete health history on file in the
school clinic before the first day of school, August 22, 2006. This health history includes a complete
immunization record as required by the Ohio Department of Health. A current physical done after
January 1, 2006, is highly recommended for the safety and well-being of your child. Sports physicals are
accepted. If a sports physical is used, please submit a copy to the nurse and the original to Mr. Kall, the
Athletic Director.
STUDENT ACCIDENT INSURANCE
Trinity High School has purchased an accident insurance policy for all students. This policy is written
through McGowan & Company. Program administrator is Maksin Management Corporation of New Jersey.
Coverage is from the first dollar of any loss, up to a maximum $1 million per accident. The program
insures all students, including athletes, for all school-related injuries. In essence, this blanket accident
insurance will cover all school and athletic injuries to the very high medical maximum of $1 million
per accident.
However, this insurance program is supplemental coverage. Your own insurance company, if any, must be
presented with the original bills. Trinity High School’s insurance will cover whatever is not paid by your
insurance. The amounts reimbursed will include deductibles, co-payments, and co-insurance amounts
under standard insurance programs, as well as all charges for which there is no insurance. The policy
includes a schedule of benefits that may limit payments for some medical procedures and charges.
Students who are injured should ask for insurance forms from Mr. John Kall in the Athletic Director’s
Office or Mr. Daniel Thomeier in the Business Office. If parents have any questions regarding this
insurance plan, they should contact Mr. Thomeier at 216.581.1644, ext. 116.

MANDATORY SPORTS PHYSICALS
Each student athlete, prior to trying out for any sport, must have a copy of the official OHSAA
Preparticipation Examination form on file in the athletic director’s office. This form, which is four pages
long, contains information concerning the student athlete’s health history, an examination component,
and a parent authorization form. ALL parts of this form must be filled out completely before a student
athlete will be allowed to participate in tryouts. The form can be downloaded at www.ths.org and is the
only accepted form. Forms from other CYO organizations will not be accepted.
Make sure that you schedule an appointment for your physical as soon as possible. Physicals for fall sport
athletes (football, volleyball, cross country, golf, and cheerleading) should be completed by August 1.
Many medical centers have opportunities for sports physicals. One such center, Advantage
Healthcare, located at 6907 Brookpark Road, Cleveland, 44134, offers physicals for $20. Please call
216.398.0349 for an appointment.

dress code for all trinity students
Important Reminders from Ms. Fritsch
For my Girls:
1. Is your skirt the correct length? Many dry cleaners provide alterations.
2. Don’t buy shoes that don’t match the dress code: solid black or brown, heels no higher than 2 inches.
3. Don’t buy tightly fitting slacks for school.
For my Boys:
1. Stock up on shaving cream and razors.
2. Be sure that you have a belt for your slacks. And practice tucking in your shirt this summer!
REGULATIONS FOR BOYS
The General Rule: A boy who wears a visible item that is not specifically identified in this code is in
violation of the code. The Administration of Trinity High School has the ultimate authority to determine the
appropriateness of all attire.
Slacks: Boys may wear appropriately fitted dress slacks in these solid colors: navy blue or khaki (tan).
“Dress slacks” are defined as traditionally styled slacks with inside pockets, plain or pleated fronts,
cuffed or stitched hems, and no contrasting seams or other adornments. The slacks may not be denim
or corduroy. For comparison purposes, many Dockers® style slacks meet these criteria. A belt that is
securely fastened around the waist is worn if slacks bear belt loops.
Shirts: Boys wear appropriately fitted solid white or solid light blue (not denim) fully buttoned dress shirts
(long or shortsleeved) that include no designs, patterns, or contrasting colors printed on or woven into
the fabric. However, a small insignia in the pocket area of the shirt is acceptable. Shirts are to be tucked
securely into the waistband of the slacks. A plain white undershirt may be worn, provided its sleeves do
not extend beyond the sleeves of the dress shirt.
Ties: Boys wear a traditional dress tie fastened tightly around the neck and extending to the top of the belt.
Sweaters: Every Trinity student must purchase an appropriately fitted official school sweater from
Schoolbelles. This sweater is a navy blue crewneck embroidered with the school logo. Students will be
required to wear the official sweater on specific days and for specific events. These occasions will always
be announced in advance. In addition to (not instead of) this official sweater, students may purchase
and wear a variety of logo-embroidered sweater styles from Schoolbelles in these colors: navy, grey, and
burgundy. No other sweaters may be worn.
Shoes: Boys wear solid black or solid dark brown shoes that completely cover the foot, that do not extend
above the ankles, and that have heels that do not exceed two inches. Boots, sandals, tennis shoes, and
shoes made of canvas or canvas-type materials are not appropriate for school.
Socks: Boys wear socks at all times.
Jewelry: Boys may wear a single post earring (no logos, insignias, or other art), worn in the ear lobe only.
Boys may also wear one watch, one thin bracelet, and no more than a total of two rings.
Facial hair: Boys are clean-shaven. Sideburns may not extend beyond the ear lobe.
Hair: Boys wear their hair in neat, clean, and ordinary styles. Among those styles not permitted are
unusual lines, shavings, tails, braids, extreme spiking, and unnatural colors or combinations of colors.
A boy’s hair should not extend beyond the top of the shirt collar. Before adopting any non-traditional
hairstyle, a student should consult with the assistant principal or risk consequences that may include
withdrawal from Trinity.
backtoschool | 10
REGULATIONS FOR GIRLS
The General Rule: A girl who wears a visible item that is not specifically identified in this code is in
violation of the code. The Administration of Trinity High School has the ultimate authority to determine
the appropriateness of all attire.
Skirt: Every girl will purchase at least one Schoolbelles uniform skirt from the following color options:
navy plaid or blue herringbone. Girls may select kilt or box pleat skirts in available fabrics. Skirts must
be worn to the top of the knee. Girls who choose to wear their skirts shorter will lose the option of
wearing the skirt, in addition to other penalties. The Administration will require girls to wear skirts on
specific days and for specific events. These occasions will always be announced in advance.
Slacks: Girls may wear appropriately fitted dress slacks in these solid colors: navy blue or khaki (tan).
“Dress slacks” are defined as traditionally styled slacks with inside pockets, plain or pleated fronts, cuffed
or stitched hems, and no contrasting seams or other adornments. The slacks may not be denim or
corduroy. For comparison purposes only, many Dockers® style slacks meet these criteria. A belt that is
securely fastened around the waist is worn if slacks bear belt loops.
Blouses: Girls wear appropriately fitted white or navy blue knit blouses embroidered with the school logo.
These blouses, which may be long or short-sleeved, must be purchased from Schoolbelles. A plain white
turtleneck (no pattern, embroidery, lace, or trim) may be worn under the blouse, provided its sleeves do
not extend beyond the sleeves of the blouse. A plain white t-shirt may be worn under white blouses; a
solid navy t-shirt may be worn under navy blouses.
Sweaters: Every Trinity student will purchase an appropriately fitted official school sweater from
Schoolbelles.
Shoes: Girls wear solid black or solid dark brown shoes that completely cover the foot, that do not extend
above the ankles, and that have heels that do not exceed two inches. Boots, sandals, clogs, tennis
shoes, and shoes made of canvas or canvas-type materials are not appropriate for school.
Socks: Girls who wear the uniform skirt wear solid socks (ankle or knee-high) or solid tights in a color
that appears in the skirt or blouse worn. Girls who choose to wear slacks must always wear socks.
Jewelry: Girls may wear one delicate silver or gold necklace, worn at the nape of the neck. Girls may
also wear no more than two small earrings per ear, worn in the ear lobe only. Girls may wear one watch,
one thin bracelet, and no more than a total of two rings.
Cosmetics: In a school setting, cosmetics should be worn sparingly, if at all. Excessive or distracting
lipstick or other cosmetics are inappropriate for school.
Purses: Purses should be small in size. Purses worn on the back are inappropriate.
Hair: Girls wear their hair in neat, clean, and ordinary styles. Among those styles not permitted are
unusual lines, shavings, tails, extreme spiking, and unnatural colors or combinations of colors. Before
adopting any non-traditional hairstyle, a student should consult with the assistant principal. Students
who adopt non-traditional styles without such consultation risk consequences that may include
withdrawal from Trinity High School.
