A Better Class of Oil for over 85 years…
From small beginnings in 1926, Les Mecoles founded Penrite Oil Company, soon purchasing his first factory in
Melbourne, Australia, manufacturing high quality lubricants from Pennsylvania base stocks, regarded at the time as
the best in the world.
In 1979, due to ill health, Les sold the company to John Dymond, Lubrizol's Australian National Sales Manager, a
mechanical engineer by trade and a car enthusiast at heart, who rapidly expanded the Penrite range of products.
John's technical background and commitment to quality ensured that Penrite continued to produce the highest
quality product for every application and this philosophy, implemented by John in 1979, remains a core value of
the company to this day.
Establishing Team Penrite in the early 80’s, John was able to complete all the R & D requirements for his products
on the race track, not only with cars, but also bikes, karts and trucks!
Driven by his “every product, every application, every customer” philosophy John expanded and developed the
capabilities and capacity of the business to produce specific products for any market, effectively ensuring Penrite
has every industry segment covered.
Supported by the largest range of speciality products and all backed up with a 100% product guarantee, John
established a product range and brand that is, today, Australia’s number 1 lubricant specialist.
For 85 years Penrite has been family owned and managed. In 2013, Toby and Nigel Dymond manage this World
Wide business from Melbourne Australia, taking John's technical knowledge, his passion and his philosophy
forward into the future.

Enviro + 5W-20 Full Synthetic engine oil has been added to our Enviro + range. Developed to cater for the increasing number of new
vehicles specifying a low viscosity engine oil. This oil is compatible with Petrol, Diesel & Diesel engines with DPF’s (Diesel Particulate Filter)
and features latest API SN specification for late model high performance vehicles. Applications include Chrysler, Jeep, Dodge, Ford (FPV),
Jaguar, Land Rover, Range Rover, Subaru, Honda vehicles and many more. Available in 1L, 5L, 20L & 205L.
Pro LV 5W-30 Full Synthetic engine oil and formulated using latest advances in low to mid SAPS (Sulphated Ash, Phosphorus and
Sulphur) additive technology for use in late model European vehicles. This oil is compatible with Petrol, Diesel & Diesel engines with DPF’s
(Diesel Particulate Filter). Suitable for use in VW, Mercedes Benz, BMW & other European manufacturers such as Audi, Skoda, Seat &
Porsche. Available in 205L.
Coolants
New 2.5 Litre packs have been added to each of our existing 4 Year Green Long Drain & 5 Year Magenta Extended Drain Coolants
range. This new 2.5 Litre pack is available in both concentrate and premix. Suitable for use in passenger cars, 4WD’s, light & heavy
commercial, stationary engines & motorcycles.
New 1 Litre Blue Premix Coolant Top Up, Type A, Hybrid used where blue coloured coolant is required. It is suitable for use in passenger
cars, 4WD’s, light & heavy commercial, stationary engines & motorcycles that require a coolant of this type such as BMW, Nissan and many
more.
PGXL Blue Premix Type A, Hybrid, heavy duty propylene glycol coolant formulated for use in heavy duty commercial, on road truck, off
road mining, farm and marine vehicles where it will provide excellent high temperature protection. Available in 20L, 205L & 1000L.
Brake Fluid
New 4 Litre Packs has been added to our existing Super Dot 4 and Dot 3 Brake Fluid range. Have also a new 20 Litre has been added

2, 4 Stroke Garden & Small Stationary Engines
New 5 Litre packs have been added to each of our existing Small Engine 10W-30 & 20W-50 products. These oils are suited for small
four stroke engines such as lawnmowers, gardening equipment, small stationary engines & motorcycles.
A new 200ml bottle of Hi-Per Two Stroke has been added to the range. This ideal pack size suits fuel / oil ratio of 25:1 for a 5 Litre
container, a simple solution for the most common requirement.

HPR 0 is a modern engine oil made with special viscosity modifiers, performance additives
and an advanced anti-wear package that actually meets the enhanced API SM/SN wear
and oxidation protection requirements. This ensures additional protection against wear,
corrosion, oil oxidation and sludge build up. HPR 0 can be used where the fuel economy
ACEA A1/B1 and A5/B5 oils are recommended for use. May also be used where ILSAC GF3 and GF-4 is specified.

latest additive technology and a low shear rate viscosity modifier, to ensure additional

designed for use in the latest types of petrol engines including conventional, multi-cam,
multi-valve, turbocharged and supercharged engines (including the new generation of

HPR 30 is a non-friction modified engine oil formulated with additives to give enhanced
protection against wear, corrosion, oil oxidation and sludge. HPR 30 is designed for use in
petrol engines including multi-cam, turbocharged and naturally aspirated. It is particularly
suited for use under high load conditions such as towing and where ambient
temperatures are high.
HPR 30 can also be used where 20W-40, 20W-50 & 25W-60 oils are specified.

HPR Diesel is a diesel engine oil formulated to provide protection against wear, corrosion,
oil oxidation and sludge. HPR Diesel is formulated for use in turbocharged and naturally
aspirated diesel engines in cars, light commercials and heavy duty engines in trucks,
agricultural and earthmoving equipment. May be used in turbocharged engines and
motorcycles.
HPR Diesel can also be used where SAE 30, 20W-40 or 20W-50 oils are specified.

HPR Gas is an engine oil, formulated with a combination of highly refined mineral oils,
additives and viscosity modifiers to ensure protection against wear, corrosion, oil
oxidation and sludge. HPR Gas is formulated for use in older LPG and dual fuel engines in
cars, four wheel drives and light commercial vehicles (<3.5t gross vehicle mass). It is
especially suited for older LPG engines in taxi service.

Penrite is proud to be one of the few companies with a range of products specifically designed to meet the needs of classic and veteran vehicles
manufactured before the 1970s. Some additives and ingredients used in modern lubricants, gearbox oils, greases & coolants etc. may have an
adverse effect in some veteran and classic vehicles due to the technologies used at the time of manufacturing. Some metals used, such as brass &
copper that were commonly used for parts manufacturing at the time, are not compatible with some late technologies used in modern lubricants.

Upper Cylinder & LPG Lubricant is a special low viscosity mineral based oil for protection
against valve seat recession wear and lubrication of the fuel system in all vehicles. It

Two mineral based oils containing anti-corrosion and anti-wear additives for the
lubrication of pistons and dampers in SU and Stromberg carburettors. The firm Skinners
Union (SU), developed carburettors from 1904. These carburettors were originally fitted
to many English cars, particularly Morris, who in 1926 purchased the company but kept it
independent. They can easily be identified by their bronze body and aluminium dashpot
covers. Whilst most SU designed carburettors sat vertically, a number were manufactured
with the dashpot sitting at a 45o angle. These were known as SU Slopers and were
predominantly fitted to Bentleys.
SU DASHPOT is suitable for use in pre 1940 SU carburettors, which do not incorporate a
damper in the dashpot assembly. Removing the dashpot cap can readily identify this type
of carburettor, as there is no damper rod on the underside.
SU DAMPER is suitable for post 1940 vehicles using SU and Stromberg carburettors
incorporating a damper in the dashpot assembly. The damper assembly is attached to the
cap and can be seen when the cap is removed.

Tech Tip:
Penrite advises that if mixing engine coolants – “When in doubt, Flush it out”. Mixing of coolants should be avoided in most circumstances
especially where it is not clear what product already exists in a system. Some Inhibitor packages in coolants are not compatible with one another
and can react with each other if mixed with possible damage to a cooling system as a consequence. The best choice to top up a system is either
plain de-mineralised water or 4 Year Anti-Freeze Anti-Boil Premix. 4YRAFABPMX can be mixed with both OAT and HYBRID type coolants if needed.
Discolouration can be an issue when mixing different coloured coolants.

Although not recommended, Penrite brake fluids – Racing Brake Fluid, Super Dot 4 & Dot 3 are mixable with other compatible Dot 3 & Dot
4 brake fluids. We would always advise that if when changing brake fluid in a vehicle, to drain & flush the system and replace with fresh
fluid.
Dot 3, Dot 4, Super Dot 4 should never be mixed with a Dot 5 Silicone Fluid. The formulations are not compatible and failure of the braking
system could result.

In recent years environmental concerns have led to the introduction of SCR (Selective
Catalyst Reduction) systems to assist in the lowering of emissions & greenhouse gases.
Systems that require products like new Penblue, work in the following manner:
Vehicles that use SCR are fitted with a diesel exhaust catalyst or a DPF (Diesel Particulate
Filter). In an SCR system, an aqueous urea solution is injected into the hot exhaust gas
prior to the gas reaching the exhaust catalyst or DPF. When the solution makes contact
with the hot exhaust gasses, it releases ammonia. When this reaches the catalyst (DPF),
this in turn causes a reaction where the noxious gases are broken down into Nitrogen,
Oxygen & Water. The effect of this reaction is that these SCR systems reduce noxious
emissions to almost zero.
May be used in both light duty and heavy duty vehicles.

Tractor Transmission & Hydraulic Oil is a multipurpose tractor transmission fluid
manufactured using highly refined base oils and an advanced additive package. Tractor
Transmission and Hydraulic Oil is designed for use in the transmissions, hydraulics, PTO's
and some final drives of farm tractors and construction equipment, especially those
utilising wet brake systems. Can be used as a hydraulic oil where ISO 68 grades are
specified. It is also suitable for use in the power steering systems of post EF Ford Falcon
and its derivatives where a M2C-134D fluid is specified.

In recent years environmental concerns have led to the introduction of SCR (Selective
Catalyst Reduction) systems to assist in the lowering of emissions & greenhouse gases.
Systems that require products like new Penblue, work in the following manner:
Vehicles that use SCR are fitted with a diesel exhaust catalyst or a DPF (Diesel Particulate
Filter). In an SCR system, an aqueous urea solution is injected into the hot exhaust gas
prior to the gas reaching the exhaust catalyst or DPF. When the solution makes contact
with the hot exhaust gasses, it releases ammonia. When this reaches the catalyst (DPF),
this in turn causes a reaction where the noxious gases are broken down into Nitrogen,
Oxygen & Water. The effect of this reaction is that these SCR systems reduce noxious
emissions to almost zero. May be used in both light duty and heavy duty vehicles.

NGEO (Natural Gas Engine Oil) HD is a medium ash gas engine oil, made from highly
refined base oils and an additive system that provides additional alkaline protection for
gas engines utilising high sulphur gas (sour gas or biogas). It is suitable for both
naturally aspirated and turbocharged engines and is compatible with exhaust catalysts.
It is designed for use in engines running on sweet or sour natural gas or biogas (sewage
gas), where its high alkalinity allows longer oil drains and better engine protection
compared to conventional low ash products. This includes at pump stations, cogeneration units in treatment works and remote generators. It may also be used in many
land fill gas applications depending on the level of fluorocarbons expected in the gas
being used as the fuel. It is particularly suited for stationary engines made by the

FORM-RITE – FORMING LUBRICANTS
These are solvent or mineral based oils and additives that are used neat or as emulsions to shape or form all metal types during light, medium and
heavy duty operations such as pressing, punching, stamping, cold-heading and drawing. They contain additives that help the forming process such
as active or inactive sulphur compounds and therefore care needs to be taken when recommending products to meet the needs of the metal and
the application to reduce the risk of staining.
FORM-RITE CH
Form-Rite CH is a heavy duty lubricant for drawing of bright bar steels, cold extrusion
work and cold heading. The product can also be diluted down with mineral oils for less
severe drawing and pressing operations. It is a carefully selected blend of extreme
pressure and lubricity additives in a highly refined mineral oil base.

PROTECT-RITE – CORROSION PREVENTATIVE
Rust preventatives may be solvent, oil or water and emulsion-based and provide excellent water displacement properties and short, medium and
long-term indoor and outdoor protection to suit a wide variety of metal types. Where metal components are to be shipped overseas a thicker film
rust preventative may be applied to prevent any exposure to salt spray.

QUENCH-RITE – HEAT TREATMENT OILS
Also called quenching oils, these are mineral oil based normal and accelerated speed products and water based polymer quench and induction
hardening fluids that cover a wide range of heat treatment applications where metal components are immersed in a heated bath to increase the
structural hardness of the metal.
QUENCH-RITE AQ
Quench-Rite AQ is a high viscosity, solvent refined hot quenching oil. It contains a special
accelerating additives as well as inhibitors for a long consistent working life. This
marquenching oil is designed to produce maximum hardness without distortion. It is
especially useful for more complex components which would undergo distortion under
normal quenching conditions. Quench-Rite AQ may also be used as a cold quenching oil
to achieve grade rationalisation and as a stress relieving bath with long life and low drag
out.

QUENCH-RITE SQ
Quench-Rite SQ is a light viscosity non-accelerated, cold quenching oil. It is based on
specially selected, highly refined base oils, which give the product good thermal stability,
with a high resistance to oxidation and sludging. Quench-Rite SQ is widely used for
general quenching applications where a high speed quench is not required or where an
accelerated quench oil may cause cracking or distortion such as with high carbon/high
