Protocol Points to Remember
Business Meetings
 Remove the words “love and” from the introduction. The correct saying is “To Madam
Basileus and all others who serve Alpha Kappa Alpha, Good Morning…”
 This greeting is stated only by the first speaker
 All others who follow, need only acknowledge the leader
 The phrase, “Protocol having been established..” is out of order
The Alpha Kappa Alpha Pledge
 All sorors should be able to recite the Pledge by memory
 When reciting the Pledge, there is no “s” on the word strength
The Alpha Kappa Alpha National Hymn
 Sorors should not sway while singing the Hymn
 Do not cross arms when singing the Hymn in public
 It is “we strive AND we do; It is NOT “we strive AS we do”
 ”to thy honor” copy righted version
 ”So together anew, we will pledge our faith and united we’ll forge a way”
