Our premium water whole house water conditioners can be installed on your main water
supply line and can purify between 600,000 – 1,000,000 gallons of water before
requiring media change. These systems can deliver effective water purification at high

Differences between RO Water Systems and Whole House Filtration Systems:
Our Whole House water conditioners and filters offer high flow capacities and are
designed to produce large quantities of treated water for general house hold cleaning
and bathing applications. However, a point-of-use reverse osmosis system should be
installed in the kitchen for ultra-pure drinking water. RO's filtration pore size is 0.0001
micron, about 10,000 times finer than the 10-30 micron rated whole house filters.

UV (ultraviolet) systems:
Ultraviolet is a means of killing or rendering harmless 99.9% of micro-organisms in a
dedicated environment. These microorganisms can range from bacteria and viruses to
algae and protozoa. UV disinfections are used in air and water purification, medical
sterilization, food and beverages, sewage treatment plants, and many other
disinfectant sterilization applications. A major advantage of ultraviolet treatment is that
it is capable of disinfecting water faster than chlorine without cumbersome retention
tanks and harmful chemicals. UV treatment systems are also extremely cost efficient!
How does it work?
As UV light penetrates through the cell wall and cytoplasmic membrane, it causes a
molecular rearrangement of the microorganism's DNA, which prevents it from
reproducing. If the cell cannot reproduce, it is considered dead.
Water is purified by running it through a watertight chamber that contains an ultraviolet
lamp. As water flows past, micro-organisms are exposed to a lethal dose of germicidal
UV energy. Disinfecting your water with ultraviolet light is exceptionally effective and
environmentally safe. UV system sterilization is the way of the future for water
disinfection. UV Light is electromagnetic radiation or radiant energy traveling in the
form of waves. Ultraviolet (UV) energy is found in the electromagnetic spectrum
between visible light and x-rays and can best be described as invisible radiation.

The energy employed for UV water treatment is further categorized into two primary
levels measured as wavelengths – 254nm and 185nm, where nm = 1/1000 of a micron.
For disinfection and ozone destruction applications, the 254nm wavelength is utilized.
For TOC reduction and chlorine destruction applications a unique wavelength is
utilized.

The UV light penetrates the outer cell wall of the microorganism, passes through the
cell body, reaches the DNA and alters the genetic material. The microorganisms are
thereby destroyed in a non-chemical manner (Figure 1). The 254nm UV light is also
used to destroy residual ozone present in a water stream. The 185nm UV light, utilized
in TOC reduction applications, decomposes the organic molecules. The 185nm light
carries more energy than the 254nm light. The 185nm light generates hydroxyl (OH·)
free radicals from water molecules.
The use of UV technology for water treatment has several inherent advantages. UV light
does not 'add' anything to the water stream such as undesirable color, odor, chemicals,
taste or flavor, nor does it generate harmful by-products. It only imparts energy to the
water stream in the form of UV light to accomplish the process of disinfection, TOC
reduction, ozone destruction or chlorine/chloramine destruction.

Our Sea Water Desalination Systems:
These Reverse Osmosis Systems are very unique in nature for its ability to convert Sea
Water to Pure and Fresh Drinking Water. They are also known as Watermakers in the
marine industry.
How it works:
This is achieved by applying very high pressure to seawater to counteract an osmotic
flow. Here, seawater is forced through a semi-permeable membrane, which removes all
the dissolved solids and produces fresh, pure and potable water on the other end. This
method rejects at least 98% of salts, contaminants, and pollutants from seawater. Thus,
impure seawater enters into the RO via a through-hull fitting and is filtered through the
Sea Strainer, and then the feed water (seawater) is then boosted to 30 psi by the Booster
Pump and filtered through the 25 and 5 micron Pre-Filters. Oil, if present, is then

separated and removed by the Oil/Water Separator.
These filters remove sediments and suspended solids from the feed water (seawater)
prior to entering the High Pressure Pump. A low Pressure Switch shuts down the RO in
the event of low flow conditions, preventing cavitations in the High Pressure Pump.
This High Pressure Pump in turn gives the required force to move the feed water
(seawater) through the semi-permeable RO (Reverse Osmosis) Membrane. At this point,
an automatic pressure safety relief valve protects the water maker if pressure exceeds
recommended levels. Thus, the fresh water produced flows out of the RO membrane
where it is up to 99.2% free of salts, minerals and other ions. From here, it flows into the
Product Flow Meter where the amount of potable water produced per minute is
registered. At this stage, the Salinity Probe also registers the salt content of the product
water. If the Product Water is good quality, it passes through the 1 micron Carbon Block
Post-Filter and ½ Micron Ceramic Post-Filter, which purifies the water of unpleasant
odors and taste. Finally, The last filtration process is completed by an optional
Ultraviolet Sterilizer (UV System) where 99.8% of all microorganisms, including viruses
and bacteria are destroyed.

disasters or communal crises. It is designed to treat Sea Water, Well Water, Surface or

Standards). **********WHO has established a maximum TDS level of less than 500ppm
for potable drinking water. RO technology, which these systems use, is capable of
making seawater drinkable by reducing the TDS by 99% or more.
