Company History
Experience
Fastening Systems International, Inc. (FSI) is a leading supplier of blind fasteners and blind rivet installation
tools for aerospace, military and commercial customers. Headquartered in Sonoma, California, Fastening
Systems has been serving the aerospace industry since 1983. The company, while enjoying considerable
growth since its founding, still likes to maintain its individual customer relations. We pride ourselves on our
ability to respond promptly and efÞciently to our customersÕ needs.
FSI manufactures many of its own rivet installation tool kits. We also distribute quality riveting products
manufactured by Avdel USA, Cherry Aerospace Fasteners, Huck/Alcoa Fastening Systems, Gesipa
Fasteners USA, Inc., Sioux Power Tools and Zephyr/Lok-fast Tool Company.
In addition to our riveting tool products, FSI is an authorized stocking distributor of blind fasteners for the
following companies: Avdel/Infastech, AVK Industrial Products (rivnuts & inserts), Gesipa/Olympic Fastening
Systems, Alcoa/Marson/Recoil Fastening Systems and Securit Metal Products (solid rivets).
FSI has a complete tool repair center for Avdel, Cherry (Commercial & Aerospace), Huck (Aerospace,

The Cherry MAXIBOLT® Blind Bolt system is available in alloy steel and A-286
CRES materials. It conforms to the MS90353/MS90354 and the MS21140/
MS21141, meets the requirements of the MIL-F-81177 and MIL-F-8975.
Maxibolts are primarily used in structures where higher loads are required. The
steel version is 112 KSI shear and the A286 version is 95 KSI shear.

Fastener Installation Procedure
Selecting the Correct Tool
- Insert rivet into the prepared hole
- Place the riveter pulling head over the rivet stem
- Hold the riveter in line with the axis of the rivet
- Actuate the riveter by pulling the trigger, the
action of the riveter will automatically align the
rivet to the work surface
- The rivet stem will be ejected from the front of the
tool

What type of rivets are you installing?
What is the diameter of the rivet?
What are your pull force requirements?
Do you have any restraints?
Typical Use
The PT-100 series riveters allow the installation of
the types of blind rivets commonly used in the
aviation industry (Huck ®, Cherry ®, Olympic ®,
Avdel ® and Pop ®).
These tools are also capabile of installing most
commercial straight pull blind rivets up to 1/4”
diameter. The FSI cordless riveters are used in
many industries such as truck & trailer, automotive,
rail and marine.

Weighing less than 5 lbs, the PT-7421 Air Operated Spin Pull to Pressure Nutsetter has evolved from the production tested
reliable stroke adjustable version, the 7420. With pull force adjustment capability, the PT-7421 allows the user to insure that
the force imparted to the fastener will not exceed the bearing strength of the material it is being installed into (ie. fiberglass,

Tool Selection:
Typical Use
The PT-3000 & PT-4000 cordless riveters allow the
installation of the types of blind rivets commonly
used in the aviation industry (Huck ®, Cherry ®,
Olympic ®, Avdel ® and Pop ®).
These tools are also capabile of installing most
commercial straight pull blind rivets up to 1/4”
diameter. The FSI cordless riveters are used in
many industries such as truck & trailer, automotive,
rail and marine.

Description
If you are needing to blind rivet the cowling of a jet aircraft, the galley in a nuclear submarine, a
HMMWV body panel, the tail boom of a helicopter, or the air conditioning duct in an office building and
you are in a remote location without convenient power sources, the PT-3000 will help make your blind
riveting job go quicker, easier, and more cost effective than any other system.
Charger
Falling within the scope of the USAF TO-1-1-688, the PT-3000 is now being used for routine aircraft
sheet metal repair wherever 12 VDC portable equipment is permitted. Developing in excess of 1,900
lbs of pulling force, the PT-3000 is able to install virtually all straight pull blind rivets from 3/32" thru
3/16" diameter and even some all aluminum 1/4” diameters.

MANUAL RIVETERS
- Insert the blind rivet into the prepared hole and
place the riveter over the stem
- Manually pump the riveter by pulling the handles
together to complete the installation, allowing the
handles to go back to its original position between
each movement.
- Press the release button and remove the broken
stem from the front of the tool.

Typical Use
The D-700C can be easily adapted to install wire
draw rivets thru 3/16" diameter including
CherryMax® "A", InterMax®, Avdel MBC,
Cherrylock® "A" Code, and Cherry Interlock® blind
rivets. The D-700C riveter also comes with the
Vari-Max™ adjustable pressure control to permit
setting of pulling force when installing blind
threaded fasteners.

Kits. The D-9000-Mil-2 installs all CherryMax®
thru 1/4" and most Blind Bolts thru 3/16".
The D-9000-MIL-2 kit contains the pull-up studs
and driving anvils used in conjunction with the
hand hydraulic D-700C combination riveternutsetter, which permit installation of blind nuts
(NAS1329/30, / MS 27130/31) in sizes 6-32 thru
3/8-16. The riveter provides over 4,000 lbs of
pulling force and because of its unique two-stage
valve system, wrist effort is reduced as the loads
increase. For this reason, the D-700C riveter is
equipped with a pressure regulating feature
called Vari-Max which allows the user to set the
pulling pressure desired for the particular lot of
blind nuts being installed, thereby minimizing the
chance of thread failure from excessive pulling
force or improper installation due to inadequate
upset loads.
Description
The FSI Sheet Metal Fastener Installation Kit is equipped
with all necessary tooling to install all fasteners up to 1/4"
diameter, for Blind Rivets, Blind Bolts, Solid AD fasteners,
Jo-Bolt and Hi-Lok fasteners. The kit is an excellent stand
alone ABDR Kit or DART Kit, but also can be used as an
extension to your General Mechanic Tool Boxes in Phase,
ISO and Depot Level Work. All tooling is supplied in a
State of the Art System including Router Cut Foam for
Rapid inventory and Hardigg Transport Case with extra
handles including telescoping transport handle, end
casters, locking cable/hasps, purge of fill valves and forklift
provisions or skid runners. Suitable for AVIM or AVUM
LEVELS.

Description
The PT-3000 is fast, efficient, ergonomically balanced
and rivals the performance of air powered tools. It
installs virtually all straight pull blind rivets including
CherryMax® style (M7885) thru 3/16" diameter, and
most 1/4" diameter all aluminum blind rivets.
The PT-3000-MIL-1 kit includes seven different
nosepieces, an adapter assembly to permit use of the
special right, offset, and extended straight
CherryMax® pulling heads, a spare parts canister
with extra jaws, jaw follower spring and jaw follower,
two 12 volt DC battery packs, and a 120 volt AC/60
Hz battery charger.

Description
Designed originally for military applications, the
D-100-MIL series has become very popular with
commercial airlines, private airplane, and helicopter
fleet owners, as well as aerospace vehicle
manufacturers' field modification and repair teams.
The versatility of the D-180, with it’s wide capability
and compact size, may be utilized to install a variety of
blind fasteners.
Relying on the D-180 (military version) riveter, this kit
provides the ability to install CherryMax® rivets
(1/8"-1/4"), Pull-thru Nutplate rivets (3/32" thru 1/8")
and all POP type rivets from 3/32" thru 1/4" diameter.
In addition, pull-up studs and driving anvils are
provided for Rivnut® sizes 6-32, 8-32, 10-32, 1/4-28,
10-24, 1/4-20, 5/16-18 and 3/8. This kit does not
include the special CherryMax pulling heads.

The D-700C Nutsetter provides up to 5,000 lbs of
pulling force and more than 3/4" stroke. This
Nutsetter is capable of installing Rivnuts®,
Plusnuts®, Blind Nuts, Avdel Nutserts and Thin
Sheet Nutserts; plus any other threaded
fastener. It comes with the Vari-Max™ adjustable
pressure control to permit precise setting of
pulling force when installing blind threaded
fasteners. A two stage valve permits a greatly
reduced wrist effort for installation of the wide
variety of fastener applications.

The Hazloc meets the NEC Article 513 Aircraft Hanger
requirements for Class I Division 2 locations and is tested to Mil
Standard 810F, Method 511.4. There is an indication lamp and
beeper which has a precise sensor that indicates the following
conditions with light and/or beeping: sufficient fastening,
insufficient fastening, low battery power and battery too low to
operate.
