Rotor Assembly
(Drive Shaft (3), Rotor (11),
Spring (4))
To ensure proper performance of RiveDrill, a drill with sufficient torque should be used. We recommend a
minimum 18V cordless or 250W corded drill for this application.
SELECTING A NOSE PIECE
3 nose pieces are provided with the RiveDrill to suit common rivet sizes:
3.2mm (1/8”), 4mm (5/32”), and 4.8mm (3/16”). It is important that the
correct size is selected for the rivets being used.
To change the nose pieces, unscrew it from the RiveDrill and then screw
in the suitable nose piece for the rivet size.

the front of the RiveDrill,
exposing the drive shaft.
2. Insert drive shaft into drill
chuck in the same manner
as a drill bit. Tighten chuck.

OPERATING RIVEDRILL
Caution: The external sleeve should be held during operation of RiveDrill. It is designed
for protection against the rotating chuck when operating RiveDrill and should cover the
chuck at all times.
1. Set your drill to
reverse rotation.
Depress the trigger
switch until you hear
a ‘clicking’ sound
from the RiveDrill.
2. Insert a rivet into the
nose piece, ensuring
that the size of the
rivet matches the size
of the nose piece.
Do not force rivet
into RiveDrill as this
could cause damage.
3. Set your drill to
forward rotation (low
speed). Insert the
rivet fully into your
workpiece. Apply
firm pressure to the
drill and depress the
trigger switch until
the rivet pops.
4. To remove the
rivet’s mandrel from
the RiveDrill, set
your drill to reverse
rotation and depress
the trigger switch
until the mandrel is
released from the
nose piece.
OPERATING RIVEDRILL IN CORNERS


When applying rivets it is important to ensure that the mandrel is completely inside the nose piece of
RiveDrill. This is especially important when applying rivets in corners or tight areas where it is not possible to
keep RiveDrill perpendicular to the workpiece. Following this procedure will ensure the longevity of the jaws.
Failure to do so may cause damage to the jaws.
MAINTENANCE & CLEANING
•
•
The jaws must be cleaned and lubricated periodically to remove any dust or debris that may have been
deposited.
If the rivets mandrel becomes stuck inside RiveDrill:
- Set your drill to reverse rotation. Depress the trigger switch until you hear a ‘clicking’ sound from the
RiveDrill. Try to extract the mandrel using pliers. Do not use excessive force to remove the mandrel. If this
method does not work, refer to the Service Manual for disassembly instructions.
