They have three underground USDA-approved aging cellars to reduce the financial – and environmental – costs of production. Kyzer Farms Albuquerque, NM Pauline Kyzer is an ER Nurse, and her husband, Robert, runs their organic pork farm, where they raise their pigs on local grain and vegetables. Pollo Real Chicken Farm Socorro, NM Tom’s Poultry farm was the first in the United States to be Certified Organic, and man these chickens are free, grazing on multiple pastures planted with chicory, millet, wheatgrass, and brassicas. Naturally New Mexico Farm As the only USDA-certified meat provider in New Mexico, NNMF is the only truly local source of lamb. Other purveyors must ship their products out of state to be prepared by USDA-certified center and then frozen before distribution. Khalsa Greenhouses Espanola, NM Sikh Farmer GurujiwanKhalsa is a regular face at the Santa Fe Farmer’s Market. He chants to his vegetables for better energy and prosperity. Freshies New Mexico Farm Velarde, NM Chris “The Surfer Dude,” And Taylor are passionate about taste, and they know how everything – sun, soil, water, bacteria, you name it – affects their final products. Romero Farms Dixon, NM Matt Romero grows a lot of veggies on his farm, but he’s truly famous for green chile, which you can buy fresh from his roaster at the farmer’s market. Mr. G’s Organic Produce Jacona, NM Gary Gunderson is Mr. G. He lives on 5 acres with his wife and daughter and enjoys being self-sufficient. He says this business is “A service.
