NARWHAL NATION NEWS! Edition 2: 12/8/14 iPad Reminder Please remember not to play games during class! Most teachers have a sign that says "iPads are a go" on the front and "iPads are a no" on the back. If the sign says "iPads are a go" kids immediately come in and start playing games and that is not what the sign means. Teachers may have directions on the board or they may be waiting for you for minutes to stop playing games. The sign means you are welcome to use your iPads during class. The rule is the same, iPads face down and listen up! Here is a hint to help you prevent over obsessing with iPads; just delete your games! What time do you have to play games anyway? Games on the bus or car could be bad for your eyes. During class.... Eh, just think about your grades! iPads were not given to us to play games remember! Just remember to be respectful with your iPads. Donations Have you guys seen the display in front of the library for Help out the Army! It is extremely important to honor the army, they give up so much to protect our country. Here take a look at the display...... The small things that we bring in will be used to fill stocking for injured veterans. If you bring something in then you are helping somebody who helped you in a different way. How will your voice be heard in this problem? This is my voice: We have to help to prevent food-waste, starting in our Cafeteria; do not take more food than you need. Marty McFly decided to bring some souvenirs back from his trip in Back To The Future, part 2! From a floating scooter <-to a hover board! MCFLY ON HIS USED-TO-BE-A-SCOOTER HOVERBOARD: (HE BORROWED IT FROM A KID) Arx Pax is hoping to crowdfund the Hendo Hoverboard. Though it is not the floating skateboard from Back To The Future, it is still ridable: A self-powered, floating platform, (an inch from the ground), and capable of holding a fully grown adult! Arx Pax says that this hoverboard can hold up to 300 lbs, and future hoverboards will be able to hold up to 500! The only downfall; you have to be over a specific surface for it to float at all. It uses the same electromagnetic field as MagLev trains, meaning it will only levitate over metals that do not have any iron, or only a very small amount. So that means only metals such as aluminum or copper. The Hendo Hoverboard was a challenge; in the beginning it only floated around aimlessly. This hoverboard is very complex, so for now, it costs $10,000, but keep your fingers crossed, one day it might be yours! How will your voice be heard?
