Even though technology changes in a Nano second, some things never change. Good things, important things don't seem to change as time goes on. That's the story behind Berge Ford. Since C.M. Berge opened the doors in downtown Mesa, Arizona in 1944, the Berge name has stood for integrity, honesty, quality and service. Today, as Berge Ford moves past it's 70th Anniversary, it is still family owned and carries the reputation of one of the premier auto dealerships in Arizona. Whether you purchase on-line or on the lot you'll get a fair deal, super service and a huge selection. Toys For Tots Toys For Tots Fall Show The GREAT PUMPKIN was a GREAT DAY! Even threatening skies could not scare off a herd of 45 Mustangs on Saturday, October 17 from the east lot at Berge Ford. The cloud cover only helped make the weather perfect for a show. I estimate about 100 show entrants and onlookers had a great day showing and viewing these masterpieces. About 1/3 were judged cars in about six classes, the remaining were People’s Choice. There were at least 2 display cars, and I saw at least two parked around the periphery that wanted to be in the show, but arrived too late. One of the real highlights was the display of Barbie Cars, each with a Ken and Barbie at the wheel, brought by Katherine Walrod. The display of GREAT PUMPKINS started out slow but there was a really respectable showing by the noon. Some of us barely got our cars ready for the show…let alone time to carve a pumpkin! But thank you to those who did. The day started at 7 AM with donuts and coffee, served with a smile by Phyllis Petrone, and mid-morning morphed into hamburgers, hot dogs and the biggest Kielbasa I’ve ever seen grilled up by Becky Field and her crew. I think that was the best hamburger I’ve had in my life! Door Prizes and Trophies were presented by Dan Martorano from the flatbed, as usual. One Club member even won the $200 grand prize. Who could that be (?) Things were winding down and everyone was pitching in when the rain finally came about 1:30 PM. I have never seen so many tops go up so fast. I saw Joan Martorano struggling with hers, then heard it was only the third time she had ever had the top up on her bright yellow Mustang. There is a story at every show!
