Happy 50th BirthdayMustang
Next Meeting: October 4th at Oakwood Secret Santa Show
41st Annual Fall Regional Shelby/Mustang & Ford Meet
Saturday Show Field
Rally Line Up Leaving Out
The 41st Annual Shelby/Mustang & Ford Meet is in the books. Thanks to
everyone that came up and helped with the show, everyone’s help made
putting on the show easier and was much appreciated. As Keith said
afterward, it’s the most participation we’ve seen by members at the show,
and again thanks everyone. We almost escaped a terrible weather
forecast, just getting a shower as the awards ceremony was starting on
Saturday. We had our first rally run on Friday, 7 cars ran it and another 7
followed the rally organizer's chase car, everyone seemed to enjoy it, and
we'll try to promote it and up the participation next year. On Saturday we
had 170 registered cars for the show and gave out over 100 trophies.
Several vendors were selling their wares and Blue Ridge BBQ was plating
some great food. On Sunday several of us headed out on the Blue Ridge
Parkway and into Cherokee before heading home. Already looking
forward to the 2015 show.
Club Officer Elections Coming Up
Best of Show Early Mustang
The Secretary, Treasurer, and Vice-President terms end at the end of the
year, they are two year terms. According to the bylaws the VicePresident steps up to President at the end of the year and the President
moves to the Chairman position. In the next couple of weeks I’ll get an
email out with the position duties, the election process, etc. In the
meantime the bylaws are on the website, under the Show
Flyers/Newsletters tab and in the Legal Documents folder there. We
need people to step up and keep the club moving forward, please
consider running for one of the open positions, more to come on this.

We held our August meeting at the Hayslip house, stuffed
goody bags, sorted t-shirts, organized and loaded the
trailer. After the meeting, we headed to the evening show
and cruise in at Mustangs Unlimited. At least 16 club cars
were in attendance, and Gary Dyck took Best of Show,
way to go Gary. Congrats also to Kyle Gooch, Rick &
Georgianne Schmitt, Nick Propes, and Rick & Cher
Hayslip for their Top 20 awards.
Part of the crew enjoying the Braselton Bash
Seven cars represented the club at the Braselton Bash
Chip Foose Edition on 9/20 at YearOne. We were shut
out on the awards, but had a great time hanging out and
supporting a great cause. Nick Propes did win the
burnout contest at the end of the evening and was
awarded a new set of BF Goodrich tires.
He’ll need the tires after this!
Club members attended the July 4th weekend show in
Dahlonega & enjoyed some great BBQ. Congrats to
Richard Ryder for his Best Custom award, Steve Harrison,
Chad Ferguson, Kyle Gooch, and Tom Longerbeam for
their Top 20 awards

The club made a good showing at Union Baptist Church,
Keith & Deb Corkern’s church. Congrats to Scott Forrester,
Andy Forrester, Nick Propes, & Kenny Shoufler for their
Top 15 awards.

Looking Forward
Fall 2014
MCA National in Savannah
Seven club cars are going to Savannah for the MCA National
Show October 10th - 12th, wish us luck and some good
weather for a change at a national show.
Moonshine Festival in Dawsonville
We are planning to attend the Moonshine Festival car
shows on October 25th and 26th, the Mustang will be
featured in recognition of the 50 year anniversary.
Saturday is from 9-3 and is a judged show and Sunday is
from 10-4 and is a popular vote show. I have volunteered
the club to help with these shows, so we need people to
help with registration and parking both days and judging
on Saturday. If you can come out and help, let me know.
As we get closer I’ll get more info out on a cruise up to
the show both days. I have sent out a show flyer, but let
me know and I’ll send one out to you.
Date Set for Toys for Tots
Our Toys for Tots show will be held on Saturday
November 8th from 10-4 at Mustangs Unlimited with the
rain date set for Sunday November 9th. We need
members there at 8:30 to help with show setup and early
registration. We will also hold our November meeting
immediately after the awards ceremony.
We will set the date/time for the toys purchase and drop
off at Jacky Jones Ford, and will hold our December
meeting after the toy drop off at Hawg Wild BBQ.
Suwanee Classic Car Show
For those of us in the Suwanee are there is a show on
Sunday November 9th at the Town Center from 10-5
honoring our veterans. Might be fun, hope we don’t need
to use the date as the rain date for our Toys for Tots show
the day before.

Secret Santa Show 10/4
We need as many members as possible to
show up for this show at Hayes Chrysler
Dodge in Oakwood from 9-3. We will meet
at the QuikTrip in Oakwood at 8:30 and
leave for the show at 8:45. For more
details, see the flyer that I’ve sent out or
www.secretsantacarshow.com
We are planning on having our October
meeting during this show or immediately
after. If anyone knows of a restaurant that
could handle us in the immediate area of the
show, let me know.
Georgia Regional’s Toys for Tots
Georgia Regional is holding their Toys for
Tots show on November 1st at Jim Tidwell
Ford in Kennesaw from 9-4, $25 entry fee or
$15 + new unwrapped toy. This will be a
judged show with 20+ classes. They’re
always supportive of our shows, so I would
like a good club showing for theirs. I have a
prior commitment, so I’m looking for
someone to lead this effort, let me know.
Club After Xmas Party
The club will hold its annual after Xmas party
at Jaemor Farm’s party barn in Alto, GA on
Saturday evening January 17th from 4-8PM.
The club will provide the meat and drinks,
and members are asked to bring their
favorite side or dessert. We will also have a
white elephant gift exchange, one for adults
and another for kids, so bring a $15 or less
wrapped item for each participant. We will
also have our January meeting at this event,
and install our new officers for their 2 year
terms.
