What an awesome opening weekend we had! It was nice to see everyone- members, guests, and visiting yacht clubs- enjoying themselves and celebrating opening day. I would also like to personally thank everyone who dedicated their time and effort to make opening weekend such a success- especially our House chairman, P/C Deb Noon, and Deputy Bill Foy. The staff and many volunteers worked hard to ensure the success of the weekend. It takes many hours and days prior to the opening to get ready, to make sure everything in the house runs smoothly and stays stocked throughout the weekend. With many hands, these preparations seemed effortless! I wound also like to thank the club members who volunteered to serve dinner, help cook breakfast, clean up, and empty trash cans, etc. This was an opening weekend to remember! A BIG THANK YOU TO EVERYONE WHO HELPED TO CREATE THE ISLE OF CAPRI ON THE BUSH RIVER! Congratulations to our beautiful Princess Delaney! You did a fantastic job at the Queen of the Chesapeake Pageant and earned the prize of 2 nd runner up in a very talented group. Ginger and I have really enjoyed spending time with you at all of the Commodore Balls and Openings. We are all so proud of how well you’ve represented Bush River Yacht Club, and know you will continue to do so as you travel around the Bay. Ginger and I hope that everyone is enjoying their Summer! Commodore Henry Bahr 5 Vice Commodore Jim Otte July 2016 June has been a very busy and exciting month around the club. Congratulations to our Princess Delaney for a tremendous showing at the Queens Pageant. We are all so proud of how well you’ve represented Bush River Yacht Club, and know you will continue to do so as you travel around the Bay. What an awesome opening weekend we’ve had. It was probably the best one to me since I’ve been a member of the Club. Congratulations Commodore Henry and First Lady Ginger!!! Everyone did a great job decorating their boats and piers and it was nice to see everyone- members, guests, and visiting yacht clubs - enjoying themselves and celebrating opening day. Congratulations A Pier for having the “BestDecorated Pier” on the Bush! I would also like to personally thank everyone who dedicated their time and effort to make opening weekend such a success- especially our House Chairman, P/C Deb Noon, and Deputy Bill Foy, who all worked hard with their staff and many volunteers. It takes many hours and days before the opening to get ready, to make sure everything in the house runs smoothly and stays stocked throughout the weekend. With many hands, we made these preparations seem effortless! I would also like to thank the many volunteers who during the weekend helped to cook breakfast, clean up, and empty trash cans, etc. to make this an opening weekend to remember. You all are very appreciated! I hope everyone had a great Father’s Day and a Fourth of July. Be safe and enjoy the nice summer. See you around the Club; Jim Otte; Vice Commodore 6 Rear Commodore Chris Sanford July 2016 I am not sure how everyone else feels, but in my opinion Opening Weekend as a huge success. The weather was great and even though there was a threat of rain, everything was perfect. A lot of people worked very hard to make sure that everything was in place and ready to go. The club really came together and made this the kind of weekend we all look forward to. Everything from the pier decorations, to setting up the house, the dinners and so much more made this a great weekend. Thank you to everyone that jumped in to help. It has been a long time since I’ve seen that many cars in the parking lot on a Saturday. A special thank you to Joey, who was having a very hard time directing everyone to a parking space. There were cars parked in places that I’ve never seen before. Now that all of that is over we can all start to look forward to some cruising time. I have not had our boat out on a trip all year and really want to spend some time on the water. We have the Fourth of July trip planned for Kent Island Yacht Club. They always treat us well and I am looking forward to that trip. Kent Island has a great restaurant and nice pool, everything you need to relax for the weekend. In addition we will be surrounded by fireworks all weekend. This will be a fun cruise. Don’t forget that we will also have the vacation cruise at the end of the month. This is a week-long cruise that always ends up in Rock Hall for a crab feast. Last year we all had a great time and this year should be even better. ~R/C Chris Sanford 7 Fleet Captain Ted Parker Hello BRYC members here is the information for the next cruise, can you believe it is 4th of July already!
