Mensaje Pastoral
Today we welcome Reverend Thomas Karachira, a
Missionary priest from the Missionaries of Compassion
to our parish. Missionaries of Compassion has its exclusive purpose of assisting the destitute, the children,
the homeless, the aged, the disabled, the sick, especially those who suffer from incurable diseases like leprosy, cancer, and AIDS, etc… without distinction of caste,
creed, sex or nationality.
Reverend Thomas’ visit is our annual participation
in the Mission Cooperation Plan for the Diocese of
Rockford. Be sure to give your attention to this important appeal, and please be as generous as your circumstances allow.
Hoy le damos la bienvenida a nuestra parroquia al Reverendo Thomas Karachira, un sacerdote misionario de
los Misioneros de la Compasión. Los Misioneros de la
Compasión tienen el propósito exclusivo de ayudar a los
indigentes, personas sin hogar, los ancianos, los discapacitados, los niños y los enfermos, sobre todo aquellos que
sufren de enfermedades incurables como la lepra, el cáncer y el SIDA, etc., en la India y en África sin distinción de
casta, credo, sexo o nacionalidad.
La visita del Reverendo Thomas es nuestra participación anual del Plan de Cooperación de la Diócesis de
Rockford. Por favor ayude a esta obra tan importante y
sea tan generoso como sus circunstancias lo permitan.
Happy Labor Day!
Dear brothers and sisters, I wish all of you a happy
week, especially now that we celebrate this Labor
Day. Today we thank God for the opportunity to work,
for the opportunities we had, have and will have. Work
is a blessing because with our effort we can support our
families, contribute to the community and help build
the nation.
Have a happy day spending time with family and
friends. Also, we lift up in prayer those who are looking
for a job so that soon they will have that opportunity;
it’s a difficult situation for a father or a mother to not
have a job to support the family. We pray for them and
for the economic stability of the country and the world.
Next week we start with our religious education classes.
I hope that the parents have registered their children
for classes and I also hope that they are an active part
in the process of educating those children, young people and adults in the faith. With God’s help we begin
this new year of catechesis.
Feliz día del Trabajo
Queridos hermanos, les deseo una feliz de semana, especialmente al celebrar este Día del Trabajo (Labor
Day). Hoy le damos gracias a Dios por las posibilidades
del trabajo, por las oportunidades que hemos tenido, que
tenemos y tendremos. Trabajar es una bendición, porque
con el trabajo podemos sostener a nuestras familias, aportar a la comunidad y ayudar a construir la nación.
Que tengan un feliz día, compartiendo con la familia y los
amigos. También elevamos una oración por aquellas personas que están buscando un trabajo para que pronto tengan esa oportunidad; es una situación difícil para un padre de familia o una madre de familia no tener un trabajo
para sostener a la familia. Oramos por ellos y por la estabilidad económica del país y del mundo.
La próxima semana empezamos las clases de la educación
religiosa. Padres de familia espero que hayan registrado a
sus niños para las clases y sean parte activa en este proceso de educar a los niños, jóvenes y adultos en la fe. Con la
ayuda de Dios empezaremos este nuevo año de catequesis.

Men of the parish are invited to an informal Saturday morning group from 8-9 a.m.
The group attends the Saturday morning
Mass at 8 am. in the Chapel followed by
coffee & rolls and fellowship.
On the first Saturday of each month, after
Mass ,there is also exposition of the
Blessed Sacrament during which time we
pray the Rosary, and conclude with fellowship. Total time 8am - 9:30am

you this Saturday!

Note from the ARISE Buildings and ground committee
We’re in need of volunteers that knows how to lay floor tiles to
help with the Parish Center basement project. We have the
funds required to remove the asbestos tiles but we need a team
of volunteers that can lay the new tile once the old one is removed.
If you’re willing to help please let Father know. Give him your
name and phone number so we can contact you. Once we have
enough help we will schedule the project. Thank you for your
cooperation to Saint Rita
