This guide provides you with information about the plan and instructions for how to enroll in
the plan online.
Advantages of the Adobe Group Registered Retirement Savings Plan
To help ensure you are prepared for life after work, Adobe has taken the first step toward helping you save for your retirement by offering you
a Registered Retirement Savings Plan (RRSP). Now, it’s up to you to take the next step and join.
Your RRSP provides benefits that may not be available to you through an individual savings or investment account.
• A convenient way to save – Making regular contributions directly from your pay, before money ever reaches your bank account, makes it
easier to commit to saving consistently. Even if the amount you contribute each time is small – and is an amount you’re not likely to miss – it
can grow very nicely over the long term.
• Immediate tax reduction – Regular payroll contributions to registered plans are taken from your gross pay before payroll taxes are
calculated. This immediately reduces the amount of your income that’s taxed. You’ll only pay income tax on the remaining portion of your
salary, so you’ll enjoy tax savings on each and every pay cheque throughout the year.
• Tax-deferred growth – Growth you realize in registered plans occurs in a tax-sheltered environment until you withdraw funds from the plan.
• Lower investment management fees – Take advantage of the competitive investment management fees (IMFs) offered by your group
plan. Lower IMFs leave more of your savings in your account and growing for you.
• Leading fund managers – Through your group plan, you have access to some of the world’s leading fund managers and their funds. Many
of these funds aren’t available to individual investors.
• Secure website and telephone account access – Manage your account and investments using the service option you prefer. Access your
account via the secure member website and/or the Customer Service Centre.
• Easy-to-read statements – Manulife’s statements provide updates on your savings and include tips and reminders to help you build an
effective retirement savings plan.

Who is eligible to join this plan?
Regular and intern employees who work at least 20 hours per week are eligible to participate in the plan.
Part-time and temporary employees are not eligible to participate in the plan.
Do I have to join?
It is not mandatory that you join the plan. However if you do not enroll, you will be automatically enrolled in the plan after
60 days of your date of hire. If you do not wish to be enrolled, please contact Manulife before the 60-day mark.
When can I join?
You can join the plan immediately upon hire.
How much do I contribute?
You can contribute up to 18% of your earnings up to the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) maximum limit. For the purpose of this
plan, your earnings include your base salary and commissions.
Manulife's RRSP Contribution Limit Monitoring service can help you stay within your limit. When you activate this service on your
account, you will be asked to confirm your maximum contribution limit for the year. If your contributions reach 85% of this limit,
Manulife will send you an email advising that you are approaching your limit.

Who decides how my contributions will be invested?
You do.
Can I transfer money into the plan?
Yes, you may transfer money from another registered plan into this plan.
Can I take money out of the plan while I am
employed with Adobe?
Yes, you can take money out of the plan while you are employed, though RRSP withdrawals are subject to applicable taxes.
You can withdraw any of your contributions, but none of the contributions made by Adobe.
Can I make additional one-time contributions?
Yes, lump-sum payments are accepted. Lump-sum contributions are not matched by Adobe.
What happens if I leave or retire from Adobe?
The full value of your account belongs to you.
What happens if I die while employed with Adobe?
Your beneficiary or beneficiaries will be entitled to your account as specified.
Does this plan allow Spousal RRSP accounts?
Yes, if you would like to establish a Spousal RRSP, both you and your spouse will need to enroll in the RRSP. You can get a
RRSP Application form for your spouse by contacting Manulife at 1-888-727-7766 or by visiting www.manulife.ca/GRO.




Step 2:
Review the investments available
With the Adobe RRSP, you have two easy investment options. This guide offers you the tools you need to decide which funds suit
your individual needs.
You will have access to details about each investment when you follow the enrolment process online.
Retirement Date Funds offer a well-balanced investment portfolio of equity and bonds in a single fund. Initially, the fund
is managed to maximize growth. However, as the fund approaches the target date – and you approach retirement – the
fund will gradually rebalance its asset allocation, reducing its risk to become more conservative.
If you prefer to Build Your Own Portfolio, you can do this by choosing from the funds offered through the plan.
First, determine your investor style using the Investor Strategy Worksheet found online.

Retirement Date Fund that most closely matches the year that you turn 60 years old.
If your date of birth is not on file, your contributions will be invested in the MLI BlackRock Balanced Moderate Index Fund (fund code 2312).

You are strongly encouraged to take an active role in how your retirement savings are invested to ensure you have invested in funds that
suit you. Your plan’s default investment is intended as a temporary destination for your contributions and may not be appropriate for
your long-term retirement planning.

Enroll in the plan
To get started
• Go to www.manulife.ca/GRO/enroll.
• Enter the policy number and access code shown below.

• Follow the instructions provided.
At the end of your enrolment
• Print your Beneficiary Designation form, then complete, sign and return it to Manulife using the address shown on the form.
• Print your enrolment confirmation so you have a copy for your records. You will need the nine-digit customer number shown on
your confirmation to identify yourself to the Customer Service Centre, and access online services in the future.
• Choose a Personal Identification Number (PIN) at the end of the enrolment process. Remember to keep this number and your
customer number in a safe place.
• After you enroll in the plan, you can access your account through the secure website at www.manulife.ca/gro and select 'Plan
Member Login'.

Consider transferring your other registered savings to
your group program
By consolidating your retirement savings with Manulife, you will benefit from:
• Competitive fees – The lower fees generally associated with a group
program mean more of your savings stay in your account and keep
growing.
• A single point of access – Enjoy the convenience of receiving one
statement, going to one website, and calling one phone number to
manage all your retirement savings.
To transfer assets to Manulife, simply follow the steps below.
• Complete a Transfer Authorization for Registered Investments form
(located on the Adobe RRSP page on the intranet) for each account you
wish to transfer to Manulife.
• Send your completed transfer form to your financial institution. This will
initiate the transfer of your savings to Manulife Financial. Once Manulife
has received the funds, you’ll receive a confirmation from the previous
institution.

It can be difficult to track your progress towards your retirement income goal
when your savings are divided between several financial institutions. Once
you have enrolled in the RRSP, you have the option of transferring other
registered savings into this plan.
