any patients today have difficulty focusing the eye on
nearby objects, a dysfunction that becomes increasingly
more difficult with age. This condition, known as presbyopia, is caused by decreased elasticity in the natural lens of the eye, but
a variety of treatment options are available to correct these problems.
Take time to learn more about the following procedures before meeting
with your eye doctor to discuss which is most appropriate for you.
CRYSTALENS®
Crystalens® is an accommodating lens implant that adapts to
meet a variety of vision disabilities, providing a continuous range of
vision for far, intermediate, and close-up distances. Turning back
time, the lens mimics the eye’s natural process of accommodating,
reducing, or eliminating dependence on contact lenses, bifocals,
and reading glasses. In a procedure similar to cataract surgery, the
natural crystalline lens is removed and replaced with an intraocular
lens implant. Performed in an average of 15 minutes, this procedure
is one of the most common vision correction services offered today.
This out-patient procedure doesn’t even require stitches.
REZOOM™
Specifically designed for patients
who are 60 years or older, the
ReZoom™ lens is a multi-focal implant
that provides improved vision both for
near and far objects. Thus, ReZoom™ is
an improvement over traditional single-

lens implants, which give patients
quality vision only at a distance, making it necessary to use reading glasses
to view objects that are near. This revolutionary lens can also be implanted at
the same time as cataract surgery.
RESTOR
A revolutionary way to leave your glasses behind, the ReSTOR
intraocular lens is uniquely designed to improve vision at all
distances and is a perfect choice for cataract patients. Sound waves
are used to gently break the eye’s natural lens into small pieces that
are removed before the ReSTOR lens is inserted into the membrane
that originally held the natural lens. Stitches aren’t required for this
procedure, helping patients quickly return to normal activities.
