Just 50 yards before the finish line, Elsa wanted to stop. Like many of the
other 500+ girls, this was Elsa’s first 5K and the finish line seemed far away.

We are constantly looking towards the future. We are proud of our
immense growth yet recognize the work ahead: 99% of King County girls
have not yet experienced our program. In 2014 we strategically worked
to build partnerships, provide additional volunteer coach support, and
increase our physical space for meetings and storage of program supplies to
accommodate more girls and the volunteers needed to sustain our program.
We are energized when we provide girls like Elsa the opportunity to
train, cross the finish line, and transform with competence, confidence,
connection, caring and character. That’s why we are designing our dream
for the future — a plan to serve the other 99% of girls who deserve to feel
like Elsa.

“When Elsa saw the crowd cheering, something inside of her changed. She
clearly felt the strength of community and support from so many. As Running
Buddies we know that we are there to help support the girls, but as Elsa’s
Running Buddy I experienced a connectedness and gratitude unparalleled by
any personal finish line,” said Emily.
Every week we hear stories like this — how we give girls the tools to know
and activate their limitless potential with support from their team. These
stories energize us and add urgency to our mission. It’s not just celebrating
at the finish but building courage and confidence to show up to the
starting line.
