The success of our clients—our goal is to deliver value and drive results. The satisfaction of our location partners— they are integral to our success and deserve exceptional service. The communities in which we live and work— seeing opportunities to give back to others Left to Right: Amber Abram, Diane Salvo, Brian Bradbury, Peter Magaro, Laura Capshaw, Steven Guerrini, Pat Brooks, Jerry McConnell, Julie Brooks, Jay Brooks, Barry Greenstein. I am excited to announce that CTM is growing again. On February 16th, we purchased the Best Read Guide Cape Cod, BRG Distribution and eCape – a trio of companies that provide extensive visitor marketing services on Cape Cod, MA. The acquisition includes an iconic visitor guide and close to 1000 distribution locations, as well as digital properties: weddingsoncapecod.com, capecodtravel.com, bestreadguidecapecod.com, and capecodtoday.com. The acquisition gives us a great audience in a great tourism destination, further expanding our reach throughout New England. Many of the former employees have joined CTM and will continue the great job they have done on Cape Cod. The Brooks family, who founded and ran the business for over 30 years are taking roles with CTM and we are excited to have them be part of our team. Steven, Amber, Diane, and Jerry are overseeing the transition with lots of help from Barb’s team (thanks Durrell!) and Barry’s team. Of course Ira and the accounting team will have their hands full, and Maria’s team has some new team members to take care of! Thanks to all of you that helped make this happen. I want to especially thank Marc Knoller and Les Rozner for their guidance – we could not have made this happen without their help. REMINDER! Be sure to use your 1st 2016 Volunteer Day. before June 30th. Please review the CTM Volunteer Leave policy for details and eligibility. He also assisted in cleanup and maintenance when a water heater began to leak into an office. Many thanks! -Scott Pfaltzgraff Shout out to the Woburn Operations Team and their drivers for helping to cover the NH locations since we were shorthanded on drivers in this region– especially Steve Dartt, Elvin Ramirez, and Jheisson Coronado. -Keith Melanson Shout out to Scott Pfaltzgraff for juggling several balls at once as he temporarily helps Chicago operations along with his Minnesota duties. Scott is the first to offer assistance, whether it’s gathering trade show materials I need help with, answering questions, or taking extra time to provide excellent service to our CTM clients; he puts in the extra effort and hours. -Beth Otto Shout out to Sean Piela for taking care of the truck that arrived at the Kansas City warehouse with the 9 pallets cross loaded. Sean took it upon himself to find someone with a forklift in our complex to help us get the truck unloaded rather than refusing the shipment. Thank you Sean! -Kathy Robb Thank you Paul Rodig for all of your behind the scenes work for the offsite. -Shannon Guay Shout-out for Tim Schmidt, our Minnesota Route Driver. Tim recently saved the day when he heard a faint dripping noise as he was leaving one night and decided to come back in for another look. I’d like to give a shout out to Ed Wiemeler, for his outstanding mentorship, patience, encouragement, and sense of humor while getting me up to speed in my new role in Minnesota. Ed is also a wonderful and fun CTM ambassador at the tourism conferences. Be sure to ask him how he bowled a perfect game at the recent Explore Minnesota Conference in February! -Beth Otto Congratulations to Amber Abram on her well-deserved promotion to Vice President of Digital Programs! All the best in your new role! -Your CTM Media Colleagues Thank you Paul Rodig for all of your behind the scenes work for the offsite. -Shannon Guay Thank You to Sean Piela and Ken Jenkins for making the extra stops to ensure that all the LEGOLAND headers were in place within a week after we received them while I was at the Operations offsite. -Kathy Robb A big shout out to the entire operations management team for their preparation, hard work, engagement and contribution at the recent Operations offsite. You are a great group of dedicated and passionate professionals and I am excited for what you will achieve this year! Let’s ROW! -Peter Magaro The water heater in the ceiling above sprung a leak and was dripping right over my desktop. Hats off to him for managing the buckets and clearing materials away from damage. -Beth Otto I’d like to give a shout out to Chris Bradley – he’s always available, has a solution to any Salesforce or computer-related challenge and does it all with a great attitude. He keeps our engine running smoothly. -Patrick Ferencz Shout out to Sarah Turner. Sarah is extremely proficient in everything I ask her to do and does it with a smile. She always pays attention to details and even with some of the most complicated tasks never makes mistakes. She is exceedingly reliable and hard working. Even when I start flooding her with work and asked “Sarah, am I overwhelming you” she always responds “nope, I got this”. Thank you Sarah for making me better at my job and for making my work days that much more enjoyable. -Matt Nardizzi Share Your “Shout Out” SEND YOUR SUBMISSIONS TO [email protected] by the last Friday of the month Have you experienced success as a result of the actions of fellow colleague at CTM? CTM SALES COLD CALL WARS! On February 4th and March 3rd, the CTM sales organization participated in the first ever Company-wide Cold Call Wars contest! Our sales teams competed for the most cold calls made. Eventually, winners with the most NEW client contracts signed will win regional prizes; there will be also be a GRAND PRIZE winner. Media Consultant, Darrell Adler, also volunteered, prior to the kickoff of the Cold Call Wars, to provide coaching to his fellow colleagues about best practices and tips for successful cold calling. After all, who better to do this than the king of new business for 2015, Darrell Adler! Darrell graciously offered to facilitate three one-hour coaching sessions where he detailed his methods, tasks and closing skills. For the purpose of this contest, new business was defined as a client who never did business with CTM; or if they have, their contract ended at least 18 months ago. Cold calls could be accomplished in one or more of the following ways: phone, email (no email blitzs), walkins (great for urban areas) or social media. There were also many other rules as part of the contest. Kudos to Chris Bradley from our Corporate Support Department for monitoring all Sales Force activities so that our Sales Directors and Managers could review reports to determine the winners. Stay tuned to find out who the winners are and to hear their success stories! Delivering a superior experience to our clients and partners— a pursuit of excellence in our daily interactions. Having fun. operations offsite 6 CTM O P E R AT I O N S OFFSITE R O W - JERRY MCCONNELL The Operations Off-Site, took place in our Philadelphia location from Feb 9th- 11th. The time spent together as a team was very beneficial and we had some great take-aways: the successes in the Florida operation can be attributed to good food; Scott spent many days this past year at the bowling alley; and Twinkle Toes, Steve Dartt, continues to do the best impression of Fred Flintstone (see photo on next page). During our time together, we celebrated some of the successes we experienced this Year, namely- Kathy Robb winning the Excellence Cup, recognizing our KC/St. Louis, Florida, Minnesota, Toronto and Ottawa teams for being accident-free, and recognizing the Ohio, Boston, Minnesota, Atlanta and KC/St. Louis teams for their charitable efforts in the community. The focus of this off-site was on inventory, service, location development and team development. The off-site provided the opportunity to refocus our energies on the fundamentals of our business and develop new strategies that will be implemented that raise the bar on our expectation of delivering excellent customer service to both our internal and external partners. We also invested a significant amount of time on our teams and discussed ways to stay focused on achieving our individual location and collective goals for Operations. We all left the offsite committed to being better every day, knowing we are all in the same boat and that we will ROW hard every day to achieve our goals. Happy 25th Service anniversary to Wanda Melhado! Thanks for all you do! operations offsite KEY INSIGHTS & TA K E AWAY S I would like to recognize Wanda and David for doing an amazing job getting new locations(99 last year!) Wanda is an outstanding leader and David is so smooth at getting new locations. I was very impressed by his salesmanship, he has a positive aura and it’s really working well at the FL division. -Mark Layton Key learnings and insights included our discussions about the evolution of our respective operations roles and how important it is for each operations team member to understand the importance and expectations of their role, as we proudly represent CTM each day. -Paul Rodig The inventory discussions and job description exercise were the most insightful learnings for me. The Offsite was meaningful to me because the entire Team gets together and we get to share ideas with each other and help each other out one-onone with any issues we may have. The offsite is a great team building events. -Shannon Guay I got more out of this offsite than any before. I believe it was due to the fact that we focused on fewer items and were able to drill deeper into the issues and come up with ideas in more detail on how to overcome these issues. As a group, we were much more involved and walked away from the offsite feeling like we accomplished a lot. My shout out would be to Jerry McConnell for putting together such a great agenda on the most important topics in Operations that needed the most attention -Matt Gillingham It was good to get together with all the other Operation Managers and Assistants to discuss what issues each division faces. Going over the inventory issues in some divisions and listening to everyone's ideas as to ways to assist in making our inventory more accurate was very insightful. We have a go forward plan now! -Kathy Robb The key insight for me was managing the Inventory system. Solid procedures and processes have been put in place to help us get better at meeting our inventory goals. As we implement these new processes, I look forward to seeing good results in the future. It's always good to get a refresher and other people’s perspective on the things we do day in and day out. Sometimes we can find better ways of doing things. Also it's always great to see our operations counterparts. I'd like to give a shout out to David Munoz for the excellent job he did with assisting me with the Location Development presentation. He's a great asset to the Florida Division and we appreciate the contribution he makes to our team. -Wanda Melhado I would like to give a big shout out to Jerry McConnell for a terrific offsite! This was well organized and excellently orchestrated! Shout out to Barb Mazur for her impressive knowledge of Citrix and her ability to make our ideas come to life. -Steve Dartt 7 recognition 8 MARCH SERVICE ANNIVERSARIES: Mario Perez | 10 years Service Representative Florida • March 1st Herb Hernandez | 1 year Service Representative Stamford • March 2nd Juan Rios | 9 years Service Representative Florida • March 4th WANDA MELHADO celebrates her 25 years at CTM Media Group with some cake.
