Afterschool programs offer “More Than Walls” where young people hang out
when the school bell rings. Within that infrastructure, youth find the caring adults,
enriched programming and safe spaces they need to thrive.
Join us for this FREE community event featuring youth performances, the
Dangerettes Drill Team, informational booths, dinner, Italian Soda Bar courtesy
of Torani Syrups, and giveaways, which include gift cards, movie passes, Seattle
Mariners paraphernalia and more!
We have transportation vouchers available thanks to a generous donation from
Sound Transit. To RSVP, please visit our website, where you will find a simple
online RSVP form which can also be used to request transportation vouchers. For
more information, contact Sherrie M. Belt at [email protected] or

Lights On Afterschool is a national celebration to call attention to the importance of afterschool
programs for America’s children, youth, families and communities. In Washington State, more
than 347,000 children and youth are unsupervised afterschool. Nationwide, more than 15.1 million
children are left alone. Lights On Afterschool is an opportunity to raise awareness among all sectors
of the important role afterschool programs play in keeping kids safe, help working families and
inspire learning by providing critical academic, social, and emotional support.
