1. Why Recycle at your Premises
Recycling has been formally defined in the National Waste Management Strategy document as
“…the separation at source of recyclable materials from the general waste stream and the reuse of
these materials. The objectives of recycling are to save resources as well as reduce the
environmental impact of waste by reducing the amount of waste disposed at landfills”.
Therefore, by recycling, we save our limited natural resources, we save our energy resources and we
help combat global warming by reducing the amount of waste disposed of at landfills.
According to a survey done in the United States, landfills are the largest human-caused producers of
Methane, with Methane being a significant greenhouse gas. Methane has been found to be 20
times more potent than carbon dioxide in trapping heat in the atmosphere. And because Methane
has a relatively short lifespan of 9 to 15 years, reducing Methane emissions is expected to be an
effective way to reduce climate warming in a relatively short period of time.1
However, recycling does not just have an enormous impact on our environment, recycling also
makes a significant difference to your costs. Recycling will significantly reduce your current general
waste and hence reduce your current costs of disposing of this waste. Therefore, the potential cost
outlay of setting up a recycling initiative can be offset by this saving in general waste cost.
2. About our Company
Postwink Recycling Products distributes quality, yet practical, recycling products, in aim to promote
a recycling culture and to encourage separation of waste at source. Postwink’s products make your
recycling easy.
Founded in 2007, our unique product range includes large igloo-type recycling bins (‘recycling
banks’), stainless steel recycling units, colour-coded wheelie bins and a range of fully recyclable
recycling bins of various sizes. Hence, our products are suitable for recycling initiatives at large and
small companies, hotels, convention centres, business centres, shopping centres and schools, as well
as being ideal for public spaces.
In order to have a range of products of high quality, Postwink has teamed up with reputable
companies that manufacture some products specifically for us or for whom we are their sole
distributors. In other words, the majority of our products are unique. Furthermore, all our products are
manufactured in South Africa.
We deliver nationwide and beyond our borders. However, Postwink is aware that transporting goods
has a negative impact on the environment. This is why we support the tree planting programmes
implemented by Food and Trees For Africa (FTFA) and hence, in the process, reduce our carbon
footprint. We do this by allowing in all our prices a contribution amount to Food and Trees For Africa’s
Trees for All programme.
Postwink is a Level-4 BEE contributor, and we are hence fully BBBEE compliant. Postwink is also 100%
female owned.

3. Use of our Recycling Bins
Our recycling bins can be used to collect some or all of the following materials:
Ø Glass
Ø Paper
Ø Plastic
Ø Tins and Cans
Ø Organic or Wet waste (such as collecting food waste and biodegradable packaging before
it is composted)
Ø Non-Recyclables (such as general waste)
Ø Recyclables or Dry Waste (such a bin would collect all recyclable or dry waste, with the
intention of your recycling collector sorting it into the various waste types for recycling.)
4. Servicing of the Recycling Bins and Staff Awareness / Training
Should you require assistance with emptying our recycling bins, we will either put you in touch with a
reputable company (whether a recycling collector or a waste management company) or
coordinate the full implementation of your recycling programme, depending on your needs.
Furthermore, to ensure that Postwink recycling bins are used effectively by your employees, cleaning
contractors and/or scholars, we team up with qualified, reputable companies who will provide you
with relevant and certified training that will suit your needs and budget.
Postwink recycling posters are also available to help your staff learn how to separate their waste.
5. Branding your Recycling Bins
Please ask us about personalising your recycling bins with your corporate logo. For some of our
products (such as the leather-touch bins), we are able to provide this service at no extra charge. For
other products, a minimal rate applies.

6. Colours used for Separating the Waste
There are currently no formal standard for colours used to differentiate the various recyclable waste.
However, there are “most used” colours, which we try to adhere to. Hence, unless requested
otherwise, we will use the following colours for your orders:
ü Blue for Paper
ü Green for Glass
ü Yellow for Plastics
ü Silver or Red for Cans, Tins and other Ferrous Metals
ü Brown or Green for compostable and food waste
ü Red for Hazardous waste
ü Charcoal or Black for General, non-recyclable waste

7. EcoCyclinder Bins – 100Lt
Our 100 litre indoor rotomoulded EcoCylinder bins are made of recyclable plastic (polyethylene),
are extremely robust and are manufactured locally. These have a removable lid with cut-out throwin holes. The top of each lid is applied with a colourful, durable vinyl, which also states the waste
type that it is intended for.
This Recycling bin is currently available with two or three compartments or for a single waste use.
The 2- and 3-compartment EcoCylinders include sturdy inner removable “sleeves” to separate the
waste. Standard-size liners can be used.

8. EcoLids (with or without base bins)
EcoLids turn various standard bins into colourful recycling bins: so if your bin has a diameter between
40cm and 53cm wide, then an EcoLid would fit your litter bin and turn it into a recycling bin.

EcoLids are great for schools, canteens, hotel kitchens, as well as outdoor areas – as their robustness

various bins available include: Cement/cobble bins or a 100litre quality polyethylene bin. Note that
these fit the standard 85 litre “ash bin” (black bin with lid previously used by various municipalities).

9. DeskSide bins – Under Desk Recycling Bin
Made of polypropylene (PP), this square-shaped 16.5 litre waste bin has a lip for easy pick-up. The
approximate dimensions are (with lip): 27cm wide (top width, per side) x 24cm wide (bottom width,
per side) x 30cm high. These can be ordered in blue for paper collection, or light grey with varying
colours of recycling logos and waste names on its surface. Note that these are not recommended
for heavy collections.

10. Recycling Boxes
The Recycling box is a space and cost efficient recycling bin for household and office use. The unit is
made from polypropylene fabric (100% recyclable), recycled plastic (100% recycled) and Masonite
(a woodfibre board, which is biodegradable).
These are mainly manufactured by developing communities, promoting employment opportunities.

11. Custom-made Leather-touch Recycling Bins
Made of recycled and recyclable ABS (polystyrene) plastic, these recycling bins are scratch-resistant
and are ideally-suited for corporate offices. These are printed with the recyclables and waste name
information, and can be branded with your corporate logo at no additional cost.
These come in 3-compartments or single-compartment units – and all units come in black.
The 3-compartment version is ideal for offices that want to separate waste at source and can
include a battery-collector on its side or a cardboard-collection sleeve at the back. The dimensions
are 350 x 700 x 600mm High (length excluding any add-ons).

12. SAVA Eco-Bins and R-PET Bins
The SAVA Eco-bins and R-PET bins are made by local communities and micro-enterprises, and use
recycled materials in their manufacture.
The SAVA Eco-bins are:
ü Made out of old billboards (PVC), recycled PVC, recycled polypropylene (PP), used corex
boards, recycled PET and recycled plastic bag waste (PE-LD).
ü Have 2 divisions
ü Come with a selection of 9 waste names that can be used to label each partition, such as:
recycling, rubbish, plastic, paper, glass, cans, tetrapak, cartridges, other.
ü Have dimensions: 350 x 350 x 600mm H

The R-PET bins are:
ü Made of R-Pet fabric – which is recycled plastic (PET).

13. Stainless Steel Recycling Units
Stainless steel ensures a sophisticated and corporate look, and can be used indoor or outdoor by
adjusting the grade of stainless steel used. Therefore, this product range is ideal for offices, hotels,
shopping centres or convention centres. These are also ideal for public spaces.
Our recycling units have various designs and can come with a varying number of compartments.
The different designs are:
1. The Flat Top: This unit has large rectangular flaps into which one throws the recyclables. It also
has a flat top, lockable doors and separate steel inner bins.
2. The Peak Top: This unit has a peak top with more narrow rectangular flaps into which to throw
the recyclables. Lockable doors and separate steel inner bins included.
3. The Hole Top: This unit has a slightly slanted top with cut-out holes on the top of the bin for
easy throwing of the recyclables into the inners. Lockable doors and separate steel inner bins
included.
4. The Office Miniature: this bin is a small version of the Hole Top bin with a hinged lid that lifts up,
and wire frame inners to secure your disposable liners.

14. Recycling Trolley
Well-known for being a recycle bin situated at the entrances of Pick 'n Pays nationwide, these
Recycling Trolleys are now available to all Postwink customers nationwide.
All units come with 4 compartments and removable durable rotomoulded inners. The standard unit
comes with a backboard and is fitted with wheels. However, these can also be wall-mounted
instead of being on wheels and can be supplied without backboard. Powder-coated steel work can
also be replaced with painted galvanised steel for outdoor usage.
Overall dimensions (including the backboard): 1150mm wide X 500mm deep X 1580mm high.

16. Wheelie Bins & Labels
We have wheelie-bins in green, blue, yellow, red, white and charcoal, available in the bigger size
240 Litres and the smaller 140 litres. The 240Lt wheelie bins in charcoal can also be ordered with
colour lids (subject to a minimum order quantity of 12 units).
The outer dimensions of 240Lt wheelie bins are: 580mm x 600mm x 1075mm high, while the
dimensions of the 140Lt wheelie bins are: 587mm x 482mm x 1009mm high.
We can also brand the wheelie bins with recycling logos and waste names using vinyl labels, as well
as do cut-out holes and provide a locking system as per the picture below.

17. The Postwink Igloo2
Postwink is proud to have launched our igloo – one which is made in South Africa and which is ideal
for the South African recycling environment. This igloo recycling bin neatly collects any kind of bulk
recyclable waste and is ideal for school grounds, corporate parking lots and shopping centres,
among others.
You are able to throw your recyclable into one of the three openings and these recyclables are
directed into either a 1-ton capacity bulk bag or 3 separate 210 litre drums (available separately).
Importantly, these recycling igloos can be emptied by all recycling collectors, as it only requires
manual handling to empty, by either opening the top or the front openings.

19. Lead times and General Information
19.1 Lead time
An order for the locally made products will be subject to the quantity ordered and the time at which the
order is being placed. It will usually vary between 1-4 weeks.
19.2 General Information and Terms and Conditions
All prices provided exclude delivery costs, with most products being dispatched from Cape Town.
Because of the size of some of the bins, these delivery costs may be significant, hence please request a
formal quotation for a more accurate cost estimate including transport to the required location.
Except for the leather-touch bins, prices do not include the costs of corporate branding using vinyl or
other methods. Please specify your requirements in writing so that we may quote you accordingly.

order quantity in order to see the applicable pricing.
Manufacturing of the order will not commence until the order has been confirmed with a 50% deposit of
the total quotation. Balance of payment is required strictly on dispatch.
We reserve the right to deliver your order in part-shipments if we feel this makes economic and practical
sense. Products (including artwork/design work) will remain the property of Postwink until the account is
settled in full.
Dimensions provided in this brochure may have been rounded and may differ slightly to the actual
product dimensions on manufacturing.
Our prices are subject to change without prior notice. This is especially true for stainless steel products,
whose prices fluctuate according to international steel prices.
All our products include a contribution towards one of the tree planting programmes implemented by
Food and Trees For Africa. We will gladly disclose the contributions raised as a result of your order.
The stainless steel recycling units, EcoCylinders, igloos, wheelie bin labels and posters shown herein are
Postwink’s intellectual property. Postwink is the owner of the various literary and artistic works embodied in
its Designs, brochures and website, as determined by the Copyright Act, 1978. Any unauthorised
reproduction, adaptation or publication of the work is strictly prohibited. The Postwink igloo and
EcoCylinder recycling bins have moulds which are jointly owned by Postwink and its manufacturing
factory. The Postwink Igloo design has also been registered with the South African Design Office (Design
registration number F2011/00148). As such, Postwink is entitled to enforce its rights in the Design against
any person who makes, imports, uses or disposes of any article which embodies or is similar to the Design.
Other products included in this brochure are our supplier’s intellectual property and hence similarly
cannot be recreated or copied without consent. Postwink is the sole distributor of the
Recycling Trolley and EcoLid.
Orders are subject to our complete set of Terms and Conditions, a copy of which will be provided on
