Avalon Yacht Club TOPSIDER September 1, 2014 • Volume 73, Issue 7 SEPTEMBER Restaurant Hours DINING ROOM CLOSED for the season GRILL ROOM Open Fridays ONLY 5:30 to 10PM See you again next summer! Dear AYC Members, Angie and I hope that everyone had a fantastic 2014 Summer! It is almost impossible to believe that the summer is actually over, how did the fun fly by so quickly? It has been our honor and esteemed privilege to serve as your Commodore couple this Summer and to have represented the Club as Flag Officers. Over the past three years, we have continued the longstanding traditions of the AYC while, at the same time, having a bunch of fun with the many friends we have met here at the Club! We certainly sent the summer off with a big bang at a very well attended and fun filled Last Big Night at AYC, complete with Changing of the Guard and The Fabulous Grease Band! Although the season is regrettably over, the Club will be open Friday evenings through December in the Grill Room and for (3) Eagles Potluck Tailgate Parties. On Sundays: September 21, October 5 and December 2 at 1:00PM, we will have: Philly themed prizes, 50/50 raffles & cooking contests while we watch the Eagles destroy the: Redskins, Rams and Texans... GO BIRDS! It has been a privilege to work alongside so many talented and dedicated board members, past Commodores, staff, instructors, parents and volunteers. Angie and I would like to especially thank our fellow Flag Officers Pat & Deirdre McAleer and Jill & Mike Mundenar for an awesome 2014 Season. We all especially welcome Lisa and Kevin Booth as they begin their Rear Commodore tour on the Flag! In closing out the Summer of 2014, I believe Angie and I speak for the entire Club in congratulating our Manager Brian Juliano and his staff on a very successful season! Brian is not alone, but backed up by a great support team, who rose the bar again this year in an all out effort to increase member satisfaction: Jarrod Sykes, Chef Peter Mark, Sean Wilson, Seth Baker, all the kitchen staff, servers, hostesses and our Accounting Manager Helene Moran. We thank them all and look forward to a great 2015 with Commodore Pat and Deirdre McAleer! In the offseason, please keep up to date and follow your TopSiders and the AYC website www.avalonyachtclub.com. Have a happy, healthy and fun filled off-season !
