Contract Update - Week 44
This week's newsletter is a bumper picture special
which shows the progress that has been made on
site over the last two weeks.
The steel frame for the atrium between A building
and the new building was erected over the Easter
Holiday.
After testing three different shades of mortar we
chose the darker grey mortar as shown on the left
of this picture for all of the engineering brickwork
around the ground floor of the new building.
The concrete lift shaft will house the new lift
providing access to all the upper floors of A and B
building plus to first floor of the new building.
BRC PROGRESS UPDATE
We've begun to fix the new fire and emergency
alarm cabling onto the ceiling of the ground floor
of the new building
The new building has some beautiful concrete
columns inside the building. This one is in the new
Salon 141 training suite.
This space will become our new digital studio for
gaming and computing right at the front on the
ground floor of the new building.
This photo shows where the new bridge will link
the new building into the first floor of building A

This photo is taken from the first floor of the new
building. The internal partitions which will split
the space into the theatre, dance, media and
music will be installed in the next month.
This shows the ground floor of B building, looking
out onto the courtyard, where windows are being
installed to the new fitness suite
The curtain walling on the ground floor of B
building is being installed
We've completed the new roofing on the sine
storey of A building (above the photography
workshop). The link between A and B has now
been re-clad with feature slit windows which
reveal views across to C building and the new
building.

Over Easter we've moved the heating of all of the
North Site (buildings A-D) to the new
Energy Centre. Our old oil fired boiler house
continues to supply hot water to the South of the
site.
This photo shows one of the new IT lab's on the
second floor of B building. The new lighting is now
in place and the ceilings and decorations will all be
complete in the next three weeks.
